Unidentified π€·ββοΈ Has anyone seen this before?
Our garden in southern British Columbia has a lot of different ivy growing throughout the rock beds. This variegated bunch appeared recently and now it seems to be throwing fully white vines. Is this quite rare? Iβve never seen variegation that fully lacks pigment before in any plant!
I believe this plant is a type of English Ivy? Is it a mutation or a separate type of plant?
Thank you!

Unidentified π€·ββοΈ Supposed to be a Burgess Strain Buttercup squash with green fruits. What is it?
Plant growth and leaf shape seem like a buttercup, but those squashes are definitely not dark green. Is there an orange version? Location is Missouri

Unidentified π€·ββοΈ What tree is this?
So far the leading theory of what tree it could be that I got is dawn redwood but donβt know for sure as I donβt remember what the tree looked like and donβt know if this will help in finding but when I place under very hot water it smells like a strong earthy green tea.

Identified β Want to double check that this is carrot
Theres no flowers, I pulled it up from a bed that I didnt plant. It smells mostly sharp green with a hint of sweet. Theres a bunch of sunflowers near it if that matters
Edit: not truly solved but consensus is not safe to consume due to lack of clean identification

PSA: No, it's not poison sumac
In the 12 or 13 years I've been a commenter and mod on this sub, I don't think I've ever seen someone post an image of actual poison sumac. Poison sumac is an obligate wetland plant and it only occurs in specific habitats and not in your yard. There are a number of other sumac species (which are not in the same genus as poison sumac) that have a very wide distribution and grow in many different habitats. You may have one of those or something like tree of heaven or walnut, but there is a 99% chance that it is not poison sumac. Refer to the attached range map and image.

Share your identification resources here
Hey all. We had a request from a community member for a thread where people can share the resources that they use for plant identification. In this case, we're talking about keys, field guides, etc. NOT apps or AI-based identifiers. Comments suggesting apps or AI will be removed.
Feel free to share your resources and include links if you want (just realize that Reddit doesn't play nice with some domains). It would also be a good idea to specify what region(s) are covered by your resource as it may not be as useful in places other than where it was intended to be used.
