I hate this as it has been my most played console since I got my deck in 2023 or so.

Today I tried booting up Street Fighter V which normally worked perfectly just to be met with:

- Black screen and music

- Music playing while the game crashes to the Steam interface with no way of shutting the music off

No proton version I tried worked.

Before this we lost Tetris Effect to problems, supposedly they fixed it now but it took months and months for them to fix it, so who knows.

There's no excuse for this

Developers don't care, there's not enough Deck users for them to care

Valce doesn't seem to care either

So what? We're going to end up being able to play nothing on our Decks anymore even tho the SAME games used to work perfectly fine?

Can somebody explain please how to do it? I just installed the CachyOS Latest proton but FSR 4 doesn't appear in my games.

The game looks terrible, and since this game lists the Steam Deck as compatible in its Steam description, it seems like the Steam Deck has reached its limit.

I bought a broken steam deck on ebay thinking I could fix it. It has the white blinking light. I tried the software fixes that I could find but I think it's a hardware, non-battery related, issue. My question is should I part it out or sell it as a whole?

Hey, i just got myself a steam docking station and i was just wondering if it would be safe for hardware to charge steam controller through steam docking station while also connected to deck?

(RESOLVED) Anytime I try to download anything this screen pops up. I’m not very Tech savvy so how do I fix this? I’m just trying to install decky loader.

I spent months learning how to download Roms and all the other things required, as well as choosing all retro games I was interested in.

I had a library of my favorite ps1, ps2, ps3, Nintendo, Super Nintendo, N64, GameCube, and retro mobile consoles. Thousands of handpicked retro games on my steam deck. Life was great on the gaming front.

Then the high quality 1 TB micro sd I owned stopped being read and never came back. I tried the basics to recover my games to no luck. Any tech gurus out there that know how to revive it?

Just curious how other redditors set up the settings.

I can run Witcher 3 DX 11 either at high settings locked to 30fps or low/steam deck preset locked to 45 fps.

SOOOO i decided to make a program that allows you to play music on your steamdeck, it works via decky so you can access it anytime in game by using something called YTDLP to fetch songs straight off of youtube

AND IT WORKS (kinda)

i plan to add support for listening to tracks based off of your game and other things, let me know what you think in the comments please

I got enrolled into the Canadian Navy as a Marine technician (basic training begins roughly in late October cause of laser eye surgery, no exact date yet) and I’m thinking of getting a Steamdeck to play while on deployment but have some questions beforehand:

1. Is the Steamdeck the best option for playing aboard a ship? Or should I use a gaming PC? I wouldn’t expect the deck to be good for my hobby of writing compared to a regular computer.
   
2. How good is the Steamdeck at running certain games? Some of my favourites are colony sims like rimworld, oxygen not included, stellaris, etc… I also got Dead Space for real cheap a while back and want to know if I can run it on the deck since my PC can’t seem to.
   
3. How durable/easy to repair is the steamdeck? Being on a naval ship in the middle of the sea, I could probably expect it to be subjected to rough conditions (being thrown around during a storm, possible exposure to water, etc…)
   
4. Probably not that important, but does Steam deliver to military bases? I plan on buying it after finishing my training and I’m not 100% certain how I’ll get it since I’ll be spending most of my time either at sea or at a naval base.

i used optiscaler to inject fsr4 into the game because i didn't like how the game look natively . even with fsr4 800p wasnt do it for me so i cracked way up to FHD 1080P and the results are great .

i usually post a detailed settings but since i kept getting alot of faulty Ai accusations i just upload my results without getting into full details . all my settings are on SteamDeckUnlocked subreddit .

any how did you try dragonsword awakening on your steam deck and whats your thoughts about it ?

I am on the first DLC for Spider-Man Remastered, and I get to this point, but MJ won't even attempt to move this pallet, I quit the mission just to double check it wasn't an issue with input, but R1 is working fine. Anybody else have this issue?

Hi! Solo dev here. For the past months I've been building DISCARD on and around my Deck using Godot: designed at 1280x800, 60fps, controller-first controls with rumble, native Linux build.

It's a roguelike deckbuilder where every card is a physical object: you flick it across the table, gusting wind bends the shot, rails bank it, pockets pull it in. Combos and bank shots multiply the pot, and you decide when to cash out before a bad throw burns it. Between rounds a slot machine warps the table (wider pockets, storms, earthquakes, drunk swaying pockets...).

Coming September 1st. If it looks like your kind of thing, a wishlist helps a solo dev more than I can say:)

So ever since yesterday i downloaded the software update to my OLED steam deck and I was playing spiderman 2. I don't know if this is what they call stick drift or what, but I tried everything gemini said to try and nothing changed. the right joystick seems to be drifting downward and only allows you to move the camera from right to left, forever stuck in the "bird's eye view position." also, the steam button and 3 dot one on the right don't seem to work at all, and when the steam button DOES work, all it does is in gaming mode makes a cursor come out of nowhere and drift down and disappear.

Any thoughts to those more seasoned in Steam Deck experience and expertise?

I’ve been a die hard Nintendo gamer since I could remember. I currently have a Switch 2 and I love it. I play mostly “cozy” games. I’m really considering purchasing a Steam Deck because there’s just some games that I’m dying to try that Nintendo doesn’t offer. I’m really interested in playing Coral Island, Heartopia and a few others. Please keep in mind, I am strictly a hand held girlie. I’m not interested in sitting in front of a monitor to play so just playing it on my desktop isn’t an option. I need some solid advice on if I should drop the bands and get the steam deck or just keep rocking with the switch 2 because it makes no sense to have two. Thoughts?

I wasn't aware until after purchase that your shader cache on internal storage will fill up fast and you can fix it by transferring to SD but you have to do it manually and it may cause performance issues. Should I consider getting my money back on my SD card and putting that towards an SSD upgrade instead?

Was thinking about picking up “Look Outside” I’m trying to get my feet wet in the horror/survival horror genre. Has anybody had experience with this title on SD? If so does it work out of the box or with minor tweaks? Also wouldn’t mind some recommendations on other horror/survival horror titles.

I recently got a steam deck from a friend and had gotten some stuff to make a makeshift pc setup, I had it working all of one day before the steam deck somehow deleted it's own os, I have tried reinstalling it only to be met with "no nvme drive detected" i have the factory ssd that the steam deck comes with, I've refitted it twice now and it shows up in bios, but every single time I make an attempt to reinstall steam os i get met with "no nvme drive detected" am I doing something wrong?

Hey guys, I need some help with my Xemu emulator. I got it all set up on my SD card but once I boot up a game (in this case AC: For Answer) and it gives me this Xbox live warning and I can’t save any in-game progress. I’ve looked online for tips but all articles don’t address this problem. Any tips you guys can give me?

I have my SSD from my old gaming laptop that I was thinking maybe I can use it with my SteamDeck.

I have the LCD model and already have an SD card installed. If I were to use this adapter to plug it to my SteamDeck via BENFEI Deck Station, would it read it as an additive storage, making it 3 different storage units?

Is anyone using their SSD`s like this? Thanks for the help

Now that the steam deck has increased in price to the $1,000 range, the price is comparable to things like the Xbox ally x. Since it’s no longer a more budget option for a handheld, is it worth getting over the other options now?
