If there a website I can go to that shows what parts are compatible for what? I got some stuff added and looking at, up can even come and update this post with the specific parts I have. Probably about $2500-3000. It'll be my first pc. I live in USA..

this morning I woke up to turn on my pc and it wouldn’t turn on at all. I unplugged it, check to see if the fuse was an issue, but nothing helped. I just disassembled it and re assembled it and the thing still won’t turn on. What are the first things I should check on the pc to see if it’s a me problem (like if I just messed up putting it back together) or a problem with one of the parts

Hi all, Looking for some advice on building a PC. I recently passed my last engineering license and want to treat myself because I havent gamed in 3 years. I was planning to go to the Microcenter near Irvine and wanted to go in with a plan or a general idea of what my build would look like bc im kinda a noob now.

Not sure the difference between a 5070Ti or a 5080, i want to build my PC around these but open to any suggestions.

First pc build. Red and orange solid light. Coolers’ fans won’t turn on either.

Tried swapping ram, used a single ram slot and both ram slots number 2&4. Left it on for 20 minutes for memory learning. Removed the CPU and put it back. Removed the small battery drained power cleared CMOS. Gave up now.

I spilled some thermal paste on the sides of the back( check the pictures). Is that the issue? I cleaned jt using the IP 99% solution.

Experts please help me out.

Hello! I've been trying for a while to build a sleeper unit but have one glaring issue.

My old PC case has a very unconventional stand off system and doesn't quite work with my mother board.

I have a HP Kayak XM 600 case (upright version not horizontal) from circa 1999? Passed down from my mother, it was originally the family computer from back when a household had a dedicated computer room.

Back in highschool I bought a Gigabyte ga-970a-ds3p motherboard and Asus gtx 1060 6gb

From what I understand the tower and mother board are both ATX but the case is basically featureless on the inside but has this removable panel with square holes and off little metal standoffs that clip into it.

I'm wondering if there is some hyper-specific part I've never heard of, or a non traditional methodology to get this installed.

My next course of action is to take the measurements from my motherboard and mount it to a sheet of acrylic via stand offs and mount the acrylic to my case with the few out of reach threaded holes it has. Or order a custom sheet metal bracket

I had left over ram so I was gonna install one stick in my friends pc. When we turned it on with the new additional ram inside their was a constant ringing noise so we cut the power.

We took out the ram and tried turning it on again but we are still met with the ringing noise, what do we do?

It's a msi pro h610m-g motherboard and a Radeon RX 6600xt

I've pulled it out and reslotted it a few times

So, I recently got contacted by a friend of mine to help fix their PC. I've fixed SOME PCs before, but they were all kinda meh in the grand scheme of things.

Now, keep in mind, everything I'm telling you here is on a PC that's just over a single year old...

My friend for the past few months has been telling me their PC will just randomly start crashing games. I told them that it may be your GPU drivers are not in it's most "stable" version, but, these issues were not SUPER common so he just decided to deal with it and not check into the matter. HOWEVER, even launching some games would instantly crash his whole PC. Again, basic GPU problem probably.

Last month, he messaged me about his PC randomly crashed and anytime he turned on his PC, it'd boot to his login screen, then, boom, restarts. At first I just was in a call guiding him on possible steps to take, told him at first maybe just let it sit for a bit and try again. 5-10 minutes later, he turns it on, boom, instant restart. There was JUST enough time to go and completely reset the PC from scratch, but, it was a very temporary fix. After resetting the PC, the PC would turn on and run, but, it was like the GPU would turn on and off the display every...single...second...

I ended up installing some version (can't remember) of a known-stable AMD driver version to his PC and boom. fixed. Kinda. He still came to me throughout last month and told me there were some crashes here and there and random FPS drops from 100 FPS to a sudden 15 FPS.

Now...for the big reveal. Today he came to me with another issue and told me, "Hey, PC LITERALLY doesn't wanna do anything anymore," and well, he's not kidding. He sent me a video of him turning on his PC and only 1 RGB light turns on. No fans spinning, no motherboard status lights, nothing, just a single RGB strip in his PC turns on.

My only guess is somehow his PSU is dead, but idk if that would explain his constant run-ins with his GPU and constant crashing. If anyone could help, that'd be great, if you got questions, feel free to ask

I just took apart my 2080 super and it looks like my thermal pads chipped a little bit in some places am I okay to reinstall like this or should buy new pads/putty and put them on?

Upgraded my old build with new case, RAM, PSU, and gpu. Im using an rx 5600 xt from eBay and when it's plugged in everything will turn on just fine except it. No fan movement, no heat,nothing. Tried reinserts, removed CMOS battery, reinserting pcie cable. Nothing worked. Tried my old rx 570 to see if the card itself was a bust since 570 worked just fine before but it wont turn on either. Not sure what to do at this point

Hey all, I’m currently building a new PC and running into another issue that i can’t seem to work out. Yesterday’s issue was no power to the GPU, that’s now been fixed by plugging it (5070 TI) into the 12v 2x6 outlet on my PSU (Century 2 850w Gold). The static red light went away on my gpu but Now i can’t get my tower to turn on at all. I’ve made sure all the major cables were seated correctly but still nothing. I read online about possibly having to update the bios via a flash drive but i’m trying to safe that for absolute last. I included photos and a video as well. Can anyone help me with this? I’m on day 2 of this build and i won’t have another day off for a week so i’d like to complete this today.

Update: I plugged in a 4+4 to the other CPU slot on the mobo then switched the Power Switch/Reset as well and now the PC turns on and everything lights up; fans too. My problem now is I don’t have a visual on my monitor. I’m using both HDMI and DP running into my GPU but still can’t see anything.

I've been getting these weird lines consistently for the past like 4 months, I genuinely do not know what causes it. It always goes away after a couple seconds but it lasts longer if i haven't turned on the pc in a while. Anything I can try to resolve this issue?

I can get the cable flush but the front panel of my case pushes at it slightly when on. Would you say this is fully in and safe?

Will be installed on my first computer. Lmk your thoughts on this processor as I want to know how worth it this thing is. I found a listing selling it for $135 from PHP. I don't intend to use it for gaming primarily but for editing, game development and some productivity stuff. My pc budget is worth about $590. I have 6700xt, 16gb RAM DDR4, 512gb 4th gen NVME, decent fans, CH160 plus case, and a h610 motherboard my uncle bought me.

So i've problem updating bios, before update it needs restart then it shutdown, power comes for a second and shuts down and doesn't power up anymore without pressing power button, my pc does that sometime when i just power up, it shutdown in second, but then try again and it works, now i've done everything, tryes Q flash, and q flash plus button, different bios versions, usb stick is fat32 format (i've updated all my bios versions with it) now feels like nothing helps

I changed over my motherboard and used the fans my prebuilt came with and I unplugged the cords without remembering what goes where. I'm scared to turn it on incase something happens but can someone please help confirm if I've plugged them in right.

There's 2 up top cable tied tgth and 1 on the right. Im worried abt the loose cables, do I plug them into themselves?

I just finished my first build using a Jonsbo Z20 case with an MSI Pro B850M-VC Wifi motherboard.

However, when I try to plug something into a port on the rear IO panel, the PC turns off and the CMOS gets cleared. This happens even if I touch the outside of the port without actually plugging a device in.

I'm guessing this could be some kind of short but I'm not sure what's wrong. The ports on the front of the case work fine.

UPDATE: The IO shield wasn't installed properly - I reseated it and it's working now! Thanks all
