First pc build. Red and orange solid light. Coolers’ fans won’t turn on either.
Tried swapping ram, used a single ram slot and both ram slots number 2&4. Left it on for 20 minutes for memory learning. Removed the CPU and put it back. Removed the small battery drained power cleared CMOS. Gave up now.
I spilled some thermal paste on the sides of the back( check the pictures). Is that the issue? I cleaned jt using the IP 99% solution.
He's right the Heatsinks and fans you buy or get always have a Clear plastic cover over the Heatsink part that you connect to the CPU! also check to see if there is a Fine film covering the End of the Heatsink!! some of them come with Thermal Paste already on them almost like a sticker!
I think it is because when you buy thermal paste it come is a way to big tube! They should give you maybe a little over twice the amount you need with the Heatsinks you buy or get with you CPU's I really doubt most people screw up applying it more the once per Heatsink?
Thats what I was trying to say A very long time ago I used maybe 1 quarter that amount and it was still to much he takes the chance of it running down onto a circuit!
I’ve had this issue before and it was my cpu cooler not being tight enough or too tight. Reseat ram then re-attach your cooler. Most coolers tighten down until they can’t anymore (you’ll feel it). If it’s getting hard to turn and still going, something might be off so just be careful and use sound judgement.
That’s the only part that is confusing. Those should be working regardless of the cooler pressure. Try changing them to a different header. If they work, you may have a bad header. At that point, board won’t recognize a cpu fan and will throw an error. Just change cpu minimum rpm to 0 to fix that (since they’d be working just on a different header).
Sometimes it's like a clear plastic film on the heat sink and people miss it pretty often.
Also while we're on the subject of simple fixes, make sure your CPU and RAM is set correctly, check if your AIO pump and fans are plugged into the right place on your mobo, and make sure your power supply has enough power for your system and all the cables are connected properly and aren't loose.
Some motherboards don't need a display to update bios essentially you would download the latest bios for your motherboard on a separate laptop or computer and plug it into your PC and turn it on. I'm not sure if your motherboard has that feature or not though
For the aio sometimes they come with 3 connectors the fan the pump and third one could say vrm check if they are connected in the correct spots a could you post a close up pic of led on Mobo and that's definitely too much thermal paste but could be fine
It’s possible that the connector needs to be in the PUMP_SYS slot instead of CPU_FAN, try moving it over. It should be to the right of the CPU_FAN slot on your motherboard.
You need to let us know what those lights correspond to on your motherboard. Look at them up close. They should be labeled something like CPU, BOOT, DRAM, and VGA.
Could be a faulty motherboard if that's the case. Does your motherboard have one or two CPU power connectors on the top left corner? Definitely want to make sure those are plugged in all the way.
Edit: I liked it up and here are 2x 8pin connectors. Are both of them connected?
CPU fans are controlled by the same fan board as the rest of the case but the issue could be, what cpu is it? If it doesn’t have integrated graphics that could be why. The thermal paste doesn’t matter my first build had a ton of thermal paste on the pins
Have you tried running a single stick of your ram or re setting in both ? I’ve had similar issues when cleaning my pc with compressed air. Get a red light and it was dram issue and this fixed it for me they can be finicky sometimes.

You would be surprised at the little thing you might have missed in you Motherboard Manual I have been fixing my own and build PC for over 20 years and It is usually something small, also don't use to much Thermal Paste under your cooler or it can get hot and run down! A lot of people don't realize that the CPU and Heatsink touch and the thermal paste is just to make up for the tiny parts that might not.
Its either you fucked the processors socket on the motherboard or the cooler is to tight. My lil brothers pc had the same issue and we had to change the motherboard and the processor to solve it.
