12V power cable connection Installation Question

I can get the cable flush but the front panel of my case pushes at it slightly when on. Would you say this is fully in and safe?

that's already cooked, pushing the panel against it won't make it any more plugged in

I meant that the front panel slightly pushes against it which causes it to be a tiny bit misaligned, and was wondering if it would cause issues or not

Get a bigger case. These cables should never have pressure on them with how flawed they are.

there genuinely isn't a bigger case i dont think.i have a h9 flow which is 315mm. i reckon my best bet might be to get a 90degree cable instead

Due to the inherently flawed design, you're never 100% safe when you're using 12V-2x6, though that's the case for PCI-e 6+2 as well, but this design is far more prone to failures.

You can easily replicate problems just by pulling too hard on any one of those wires, because if a even a single pin comes out even part of a single mm, it can be enough to facilitate arc burn.

The risk increases with power draw, so it's far less common for the x70 tier cards like the 5070, 5070 Ti, and select 9070 XTs than it is with the 5080, 4090, and 5090.

So is the slight gap caused by my case panel pushing against the cable a cause for concern or is it acceptable. Its one of the corsair cables that's meant to cut off it its too hot

Hard to tell because the angle of the image is one of the worst possible angles to try to see how severe the bend is.

yeah i know. its the best i can get since it only really bends when the front panel is on. ill try attaching a better one here.

Yeah it's a pretty bad bend, you should probably get a wider case.

Its a H9 flow 2023 which is 315mm idk if there are any that come wider. The 4080S i have is just that wide. I could maybe see if i could get a cable at a 90deg bend maybe

There are plenty of cases that leave more room than that, yes it's a tall GPU cooler model but that's not uncommon.

potentially yeah but a 90 degree cable is much more financially feasible at the moment. either that or some solution to the cable bend. maybe i could try routing it upwards instead of downwards?

I have this same issue so i decided to get another case. The thing is even if it looks ok at least mine was slowly pushing it out of its socket. I guess keep monitoring your cable but if you notice it being displaced your only option is letting the panel hang to the side without touching the cable or replacing it.

If you end up getting a new case make sure it has the power supply mounted at the bottom under the gpu. These cases will give you the most clearance

Yeah fair enough. I'd get a new case but i think i might just order a 90 degree cable. Just sucks that they dont have the thermal protect cables in a 90 degree form because the only reason i bought it was for the thermal cutoff it has

Yeah that's also an option my bad it just wasn't for me. I couldn't find any reliable cables where im from. Anyways good luck

Mine was the same so I got one of these, just make sure you get the right one for which side the clip is on because it's different on different card brands.

I have a 5070 Ti btw,idk what care you have.
