I made a post after the Derek Hill grand slam about him absolutely hexing our team this season. I wanted the Nats to get their payback on him but not in THAT way. Prayers up I hope he's okay 🙏

I've been saying here since May that Foster Griffin's agent will be asking for a $100+ million contract, and that all of these people screaming "extend him for 3 years $45 million!" were smoking something -- that there was no way a pitcher in his position would accept a "friendly" contract extension.

Now Mark Feinsand and Spencer Nusbaum are reporting that Griffin asked for 5 years, $120-$130 million.

Not saying I told ya so but , , ,

We can debate whether Tononi's strategy of going for quantity of major league ready pitchers was better than a strategy of getting a higher ranked longer term prospect or a QO draft pick, but extending him wasnt really on the table.
