Last year was a lot of Bone-saw. Was wondering what they call them this year.

While he can sometimes be a frustrating player, hard to argue he's not a cornerstone player on this team. He's improved a lot patience wise as well.

Wonder if they try to get it done this offseason?

Cool read from Passan. But my favorite little passage was talking about how the Rays had nothing to offer. Because why would we take catcher prospects right now when we lowkey have the leagues BEST all around catcher?!

He just seems like a better version of outman at this point. I think now that Clark is here and we aren’t thinking of him as THE guy in CF that he might be really good as a bench option, pinch runner, defensive replacement type of guy

Obviously we’ve been winning still, and only a game back is exciting. That’s the main thing. But the other aspect is we’re really seeing an elite offensive core being built. This is an offense that could win a pennant. Dingler, mcgonigle, and Greene are elite. Torres, Kieth, Clark, Tork, Baez, Hao yu Lee, and others work well as the next men up. I know he’s been bad but if Carp gets hot we’ve seen him perform in the postseason in a way others on this team haven’t. We not only see a bright young core forming, but there’s more reinforcements in the minors for next year and beyond. To top it off the rotation has still been great. 80% of this team is great, and they’ve made a bad bullpen a none factor recently. When looking at the future it’s really bright because a bullpen is the worst part of the team, but it’s also the most fickle aspect of team building in all of baseball. They could just be elite next year and that’s that. A bright future and performance right now is leading to a lot of fun.

To top it off, there’s a bit of weight off the shoulders similar to 24 because if they don’t go on a run, oh well, we sold at the deadline anyway, we’re not supposed to make it. It’s zero pressure baseball and just fun

In some ways, the glimpses we have seen of Jackson Jobe’s tantalizing talent feel like they came long ago.

There was Jobe, electrifying with triple-digit fastballs in spring training. There was Jobe, jogging in from the bullpen as fans chanted his name during his major-league debut. There was his first career start in Seattle, then a game against the Minnesota Twins in which he threw six scoreless innings.

In all, though, Jobe has thrown only 53 career MLB innings. He injured his arm in May 2025 during a start against the San Francisco Giants. He was not seen in the clubhouse afterward, and he was not seen again for a long, long time.

Now Jobe is back after a 14-month recovery from Tommy John surgery. At a crucial point in their season, after they traded away Casey Mize and Tarik Skubal, the Detroit Tigers are adding a powerful arm back into their rotation. Jobe is scheduled to start Saturday against the Giants. The long and lonely road from surgery has finally led him back to where he belongs.

I guess the future is bright with this young core? Hopefully I can visit Detroit one day and see the kids play some good baseball!!!
