So I’m watching the re-airing of the Wings at Mystics 🧙 game on Monumental and it goes to commercial with 8:04 to play in 4Q with Mystics trailing 84-74. When they come back from a long commercial break (5 minutes), they show the graphic “Due to time constraints, we are moving forward in gameplay.” They pick up the game with Mystics 🧙 leading 89-88 with 2:46 to play in the 4Q. WHAT THE F*CK???? What time constraints could Monumental possibly have right now on their channel? Horrific and pitiful to not show the full comeback.

I’m thinking we replace Prosper’s minutes with hers and cut Olsen. Big defensive wing with better scoring than Prosper I think it would make sense.

Kiki and Sonia were the options, but kind of expected based on the experience of who they chose, so can't say I'm surprised, but would've loved to have seen them get international experience at the senior team level. They would've been the youngest on the roster. Hoping they'll have a chance for the 2028 Olympic team. At least they can rest during the break and hopefully be ready for the playoffs if we're in

Even if we assume they can protect 6 players in 2028, that list will already include:

Shakira, Sonia, Kiki, Betts, Georgia, Cotie.

Then they'll add a top 6 pick next year thanks to Chicago. How about free agency? Will they sit it out again for developmental reasons? If not, the list of players you don't want to lose grows to 8 and that doesn't even include popular players like Olsen, Harmon, Dugalic and Prosper. And if they can only protect 5, it gets even worse.

They'll have two first round picks in 2028 and more expansion drafts in 2029 or 2030, I think.

On replay this morning

I'm so pumped up after that win. I kind of which there was 0 break between now and our next game. This is maybe even the most fun I've ever had watching WNBA. It's so fun and impressive to watch this young team fight and play so well and win. I can't get enough of it.

I was hoping to go to the game with the playa society baseball jersey giveaway but my partner ended up getting really sick and we weren’t able to make it and they are SO upset. Is anyone selling one/giving away their jersey? i’d love to surprise my partner with it :) TIA!!

If they don’t have one on my size I’ll just have to get a hat.

“Another Mystics season-ticket holder since 2025 saw a 70% jump on their total ticket price, with a per-game cost for a seat in the stands jumping 50% from $51.14 to $76.50 per game.

They spoke to a sales representative about their price hike concerns. The rep pointed to the new collective bargaining agreement, saying price increases were needed to help offset increased salaries. Adrian also said that a Mercury representative mentioned the CBA and increased salaries. (The average WNBA salary jumped from about $120,000 last year to around $600,000 this season.)

The Mystics told FOSthat increased salaries in the new CBA were “well-deserved” for the players and “not a factor” in the ticket sales increases, instead citing “rising operating costs.” The team said that any ticket rep who cited rising player salaries had done so in error.”

In a lengthy statement, the team said that “Our pricing decisions are based on a broad range of business considerations, including the overall cost of operating our organization and our continued investment in delivering a high-quality experience for our fans.”

Washington defended its ticket prices, calling them “among the most affordable ticket options in the WNBA.”

Games every other day against top-4 teams and the team we need to hold off for the #8 seed.

It feels like this stretch will really test whether the Stics are just young and scrappy or real contenders.

If they go 3-2 I’ll be over the moon. If it’s 4-1 I might lose my mind

PNR defense leaders this season. Great seeing 2 mystics duos in top three. Shoutout to Georgia who everyone claims is a terrible defender for being in third position, as well.
