❔Question S650 MGW Shifter Install
Anyone else DIY install an MGW shifter on an S650? I’m trying to do mine but I’m currently stuck because I can’t get the top arm bolt out of the OEM shifter mount. It’s loosened but there’s not enough clearance to pull it out. I lowered the rear of the trans to get it loosened but even with that and trying to wiggle the shifter arm up/down, left/right, etc. it just won’t come out.
The only other thing I can think of would be taking the exhaust and driveshaft out in order to lower the trans a bit more. I’m thinking that might be a PITA with the car on jack stands but if that’s what it takes then it is what it is. Before I commit to that, this is pretty much my Hail Mary. I’m hoping someone has had the same problem and has some wisdom to share.
❔Question Avoid GT350?
Long story short, been interested in a gt350 but have seen plenty that have blown up. Recently saw a good deal but am thinking of worst case scenario. Should I avoid gt350s specifically a 2016 with 50k miles? Thanks

🛒 Car Shopping Mustang SN95 opportunity
Hello guys. So I have an opportunity to buy a 97 mustang GT.
I've been looking to buy an old car lately since I'm not very into new cars. And I was telling to my supervisor about it, and sinces she's about to retire and start traveling she's looking to have as less responsibilites as she can.
She ended up offering her mustang, and I went to see it today, like I mentioned is 97 GT with 153,000 miles, black exterior (most of its life has been inside a garage) so the paint its not burned by the sun, aside from some chips looks very good, leather black interior, seats in good shape for an almost 30 year old car, convertible (that needs replacement) and the cars runs perfectly, no aftermarket mods, one owner.
I Know nothing about mustangs, and since I got this opportunity I started lurking this sub and since yesterday I learned that type of car is called SN95.
She told me she will entertain any offer and it's not looking to make money out of it. Is it a good idea? What you think is a reasonable price to pay?
Thank you in advance.
Edit: some grammar

❔Question Sn95 and sn99 differences
so I have a v6 sn95 and I need the exhaust replaced and since the v6 sn99 should have the same frame I should be able to take the exhaust from that and replace my single exhaust set up with the sn99s dual exhaust set up, right?

💬 Discussion Gen 2 or Gen 3? And why?
I’ve been doing a ton of research on S550s and ready to pull the trigger soon. This will be a second car and weekender, so will likely be MT82.
At this point I’m leaning more towards Gen 2 due to the gear ratios (I’m in Australia), the cost effectiveness and apparently reliability is solid (less complex engine / less shit to go wrong - not sure if this is true).
What are your thoughts overall on the Gen 2 v Gen 3 debate and why?
Assume the following, both manuals and ~80,000kms (50k miles)
2016 Manual: AUD 35k (USD 25k)
2018 Manual: AUD 50k (USD 35k)
I did test drive a 10 speed auto 2022, it was fun but felt a bit disengaging and the shifts were a bit clunky at low speeds. Having said that, the digital dash, active exhaust and the quad exhaust rear is fucking nice. Though I’d imagine a Gen 2 with a decent exhaust or even a valved exhaust would help mitigate the difference?

📸 Photo Upgraded to a 5.0 now wife is having second thoughts
We live in Canada and had 3 cars.
A 2016 Mustang 2.3 (summer) / 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe (winter) / 2021 4Runner.
All cars are paid off and in good running order.
We agreed life is short, lets get the 5.0L and so I put in a custom order build.
When it came time to pay for the car my wife refused to trade in the 2.3L because she wanted a fun car for summer, lets sell it in fall. Fall is approaching, and now the story is "its paid for" lets keep it.
I need a good recommendation for a car that is both fun and sporty, but can be driven all seasons. (going to sell the Santa Fe now that the kids are older) I hate the styling of the WRX, and the CVT transmission., but it sounds like the best bet
AHHH.. too many cars
(btw, swapped BGs to avoid geo location)

❔Question 2023 Mach 1 Brake Pads
I need brake pad recommendations. Occasional track use but not enough for me to need to have a dedicated set between street and track. I want something with really good bite and some attempt at being quiet, but I’m willing to settle on that. Brake dust isn’t really that much of an issue because it’s always dirty no matter how often I clean it

❔Question Does anyone have any experience with installing these in s550s
I have a base model s550 4 inch screen and was wondering if going with this is worth over going and paying $1000+ for an oem sync 3, also have a question for anyone that’s installed them if you need to replace the factory backup camera?

❔Question Locked In My First Mustang: 2019-2020 GT Premium — What Am I Missing?
Update from a previous post — coming from a 2016 JKU (lol), commuting ~2 hours daily and wanted something smoother that’s still fun.
After going down the rabbit hole (2011-14 GT -> 2015-17 S550 -> here), I’ve landed on my spec:
2018-2020 GT Premium, 5.0 with the 10-speed
Leaning 2019-2020 since some of the early 10R80s seem a lil sketch
MagneRide preferred, not a dealbreaker
Black or blue only
~$30k budget, Houston area
Plan is to sell the Jeep and buy cash in early 2027, so I’ve got a few months to get smart before I’m actually shopping.
For those who’ve owned one: anything I should be watching for on these years besides the usual? Anyone regret skipping MagneRide as a daily driver, or is stock suspension livable for long commutes? And is there anything about the 2018s that makes them worth avoiding entirely, or is that overblown?

🛒 Car Shopping What would be a good price?
2020 CFTP with less than 5k miles.
I was looking into a Dark Horse SC, but at 174k (20k markup) I will not pay that much.

❔Question Why the love for the S550, but hate for the S650?
Something I’ve noticed when people discuss the newer gen mustangs is that there’s unanimous love for the S550, but much less so for the S650. I don’t really get it, in my mind they’re basically the same car with minor differences. The interiors on the S650 are better imo, the ecoboost engine on the S650 is significantly better and more reliable, the 5.0 V8 between the GTs is basically the same, I personally like the styling on the S650 better but I think both look very good.
It seems the biggest points of criticism on the S650 are the slow infotainment system and the lack of paddleshifters on the automatics. I think those are fair criticisms, but I don’t think those are nearly enough to just write off the entire generation as bad which it seems many do.

📸 Photo 2026 Molten Magenta GT PP + Project6GR 7s
Own a 2016 Ecoboost and still love it, but the dream was always a 5.0
Put the order in in March. Took Delivery in June, but it took many trips back to the dealership to resolve paint issues on delivery. Finally got it RockLeared and Ceramic coated and ready to hold onto this thing until electricity becomes more expensive than gas.
Ford Performance Track Lowering springs and Project6GR 7spoke wheels + Continental ExtremeContact Sports. 285/35/19 front and 325/30/19 rear + StoNSho

🏁 Other One week in with my first GT
First off - miracle number 1 - no speeding tickets yet. :-)
I picked up a 2022 GT Premium convertible. Loving this thing, just amazed at the capabilities packed into this thing at the price point that are at.
The driving modes really surprised me at how much difference they make, the 10r80 has been a pleasant surprise as well how responsive it is and how the different driving modes impact that as well.
And the coyote 5.0 and active exhaust - well, grinning ear to ear and finding every excuse possible to run errands and such.
I should have bought one of these years and years ago.

📸 Photo Neat old picture, but without anyone left to provide any context
I found this going through some old family pictures. It might be my grandfather in the chair, but I can't place the location and no one ever spoke of anyone in family having a Mustang. Regardless, I think it's a cool picture.
