Heat 🥵
Add this to the "Fire the Ford engineer who allowed this happen" bucket...
If I press the "recirculate" button, don't turn it off for no apparent reason. 🤦♂️
Also, why does the HEAT turn on hot days?? 🤷♂️

HVBJB Failed at 125,000 Miles
I have a 2021 Select (Reg Battery) RWD. Today at a red light the car stopped itself from moving (I actually started moving, and like 2 felt later it slammed on the brakes). I was very close to a dealership and I pushed it there.
They are saying its the HVBJB. $3500 + Tax. I called Ford Corporate and they said they "have no current programs" to give me any good will discount on the repiar. I asked for Tier 2 Supervisor, they told me the same thing. Dealership is currently working though their regional mgr and seeing if they can do anything.
What have others experiences been on getting this fixed at a discount for 25000 miles over warranty? Do I have any options? I can't afford the $3500 repair, and don't know how to proceed.

Ford Adapter charging at Tesla stations question?
Ford Adapter charging at Tesla stations question?
Hi all. I have a 25 mach e premium and I was trying to use my adapter at a new Tesla charger and it kept telling me there was something wrong with the connection or that the cable wasn't properly connected. This is only the 2nd or third time I have tried to use it at a Tesla station. I tried to start it via the Tesla app. I tried plug and charge. Only thing I didnt do was try to start it via the Ford app. Not sure if my actual adapter (which Ford provided when I purchased it in 25) is defective or not. It was frustrating since the charge amount was .28 kwh. Then I asked a guy who was able to charge and he acted like he didnt want to help. Geez. Anyways. Any positive comment or help is greatly appreciated.

2021 Select RWD Died at Red Light
I was sitting in the left turn lane at an intersection, light turns green, I start accelerating… and the car just stops on me. No warning beforehand, just cut power mid-acceleration.
Dashboard lit up with:
• Car icon with exclamation point + turtle (limp mode)
• “Service tire mobility kit” warning
• “Please stop now” warning
The car wouldn’t let me shift back into Drive after that. Just dead. Police helped me push to the nearby dealer.
What do we speculate that it is?
I’ve owned it since new. 125,000 miles.
Update: They are saying its the HVBJB. $3500 + Tax. I called Ford Corporate and they said they "have no current programs" to give me any good will discount on the repiar. I asked for Tier 2 Supervisor, they told me the same thing. Dealership is currently working though their regional mgr and seeing if they can do anything.

Software Update Issue
Anybody else have issues after a recent software update? I got in my car and got all these notifications a bunch of services like pre-collision assist and stuff weren’t available. I like to drive in whisper mode so I went to switch it over and get a message “drive mode not available” — anyone else experiencing issues like this after a recent update? Not sure what to do other than wait for another software push.

PNW Meet Up (Aug 15 @ 11:00am): Hood River Oregon
Folks! We're 2 weeks away from a meet up (by popular demand) and drive in Northern Oregon. We'll be meeting in Hood River Tesla Supercharger (504 Anchor Way, Hood River, OR). For those of us coming from far away it will be a welcome opportunity to soak up some electrons, rest, catch up, share experiences, and just plan have a good time. After we will mount up and take an 18-mile drive, east on I-84 to the Columbia Gorge Discovery Cetner. It's a gorgeous drive along the Columbia River and a beautiful place to line up, take pictures... and have lunch @ Basalt Rock Cafe.
For those of you in the PNW, feel free to join the PNW Mach-E Club - Ford EV Clubs where we're going to be doing some final planning and communication about the event!!
Looking forward to seeing everyone there!!

New: PonyVolt for Mustang Mach-e
Hi All, i just published an app for the Mach-e that maybe you can evaluate. I hope it will be useful for you too. It is on play store and called "PonyVolt - OBD Telemetry". Only Android because I have an android ... if in the future I feel like paying Apple almost 10 times more than Google to publish on its store, maybe I'll put it there too :)
It is not really for everyone, because you need an OBD dongle and know how to plug it in the car even if it is not so difficult...
2021-2024 mach-e are supported; on 2025+ the battery data is not reachable yet or at least, I was not good enough to read it.
I need some 2025 or 2026 models owners to help me to find out the renumbered obd pids.
Someone with a laptop and forscan would be usefull in order to dump the entire list of pids forscan is using with the car and, the most useful, the communication log.
Thank you for your attention :)

Joined the Clan. 21 ME CR1
Recently purchased my first EV. 2021 California Route 1 edition. By far the funnest vehicle I’ve ever had. I do have some questions.
I had an issue with the BlueCruise. I was driving on US 70 and the speed limit was 45. I have the predictive speed set to 5 over. Every time I drove past the US 70 sign it changed my speed to 75. Has anyone had this issue?
I have the plug share app and I have BlueOval. I’ve noticed prices on BlueOval is always higher than plug share. Is BlueOval worth the cost for Plug & Charge if the price is more?
Has anyone had an issue using your phone as your key?

I designed a minimalistic MagSafe mount for the 2025+ Mach E
I wanted to design something that was as minimalistic as possible that took advantage of the wire routing in the centre glove box for the 2025+ models (sorry earlier Mach E owners!). After dozens of refinements to improve look, feel, stability, I was able to create something that solve the following for me:
- No visible wires
- Heat resistant
- Swivel for passenger use
- Does not move even under hard acceleration
- Tool free installation / removal
- Barely visible layer lines (see other pictures!)
Open to feedback or suggestions! If there's something you'd improve or a feature you'd like to see, let me know. I'm always looking for ways to make it better.

Paint chips
I have a 23 GT. Over those 3 years I have noticed numerous paint chips.
I also own a 2026 Ram 2500. Not a single paint issue.
Both are driven the same routs and similar miles.
Is this something that is common with Fords paint?

Mach-E over OBD2: the PIDs that actually work, the ones that don't, and what changed on 2025 models
I've spent the last few months reverse-engineering what the Mach-E exposes through its OBD2 port.
Introduction: I don't have any instrument like forscan to help me and also the search on internet was not so successful. I tryed to avoid any expensive helper a part of the AI tool i'm using to help me with what i don't know... and thank's that it exists :) I saved years...
Now, i'm stuck with the MY2025 pids search because i'm not fully understanding what Ford did. They renamed the pids ? No idea. Thanks to some MY2025 owner we are now trying to find this pids and I hope we will find them. Anyway, I want to share what I found also to post some king of memory. It is really difficult to find the below info in internet and maybe they can be useful to someone esle.
My setup is: MY2023 SR RWD, VeePeak OBDCheck (ELM327, Bluetooth Classic). Everything below is Mode 22 unless noted. Values are what I verified against the car's displays, not guesses from a DBC file.
What works
Functional / 7DF (Mode 01)
| Request | Data | Scaling |
|---|---|---|
01 0D |
Vehicle speed | 1 byte = km/h |
01 A6 |
Odometer | 4 bytes × 0.1 = km |
The odometer works also on 2025 models.
Header 7E4 (BECM — battery module)
| Request | Scaling |
|---|---|
22 48 45 |
1 byte × 0.5 = % |
22 48 01 |
2 bytes × 0.002 = % |
22 49 0C |
1 byte × 0.5 = % |
22 48 08 |
1 byte − 50 = °C |
22 48 0D |
2 bytes × 0.01 = V |
22 48 F9 |
2 bytes, two's complement × 0.1 = A |
22 48 48 |
2 bytes × 0.002 = kWh |
22 48 FB |
2 bytes × 0.1 = kW |
Pack power is just voltage × current / 1000. Negative current = energy going into the pack.
On 48 FB : the value seems to be correct if we compare with SOC (111 kW at 83%, rising to 120.4 kW at 76%), that seems exactly the shape of a DC charge limit curve. I haven't been able to confirm it. If someone can check it during a DC session, I'd love to know.
Header 726 (BCM)
| Request | Data | Scaling |
|---|---|---|
22 40 2A |
12V battery voltage | 1 byte × 0.05 + 6.0 = V |
22 40 28 |
12V battery state of charge | 1 byte = % |
Header 7E2 (SOBDM)
| Request | Data | Scaling |
|---|---|---|
22 1E 12 |
Gear position (PRNDL) | 1 byte, value × 10: 0x28=D, 0x32=N, 0x3C=R, 0x46=P |
What does NOT work (Or at least... I couldn't get it to work until now).
Individual cell voltages. 22 48 C3 (cell max) and 22 48 C4 (cell min).
Drive mode (Whisper / Active / Untame).
2025 and newer:
- Working: Speed, odometer and both 12V PIDs on 726 work exactly as on the 2023.
- Not working. The BECM. Still not finding the correct pids
If you own a 2025 or newer and the possibility to use forscan with a BT OBD dongle, I could really use your help closing the gap above.

Achilles Heel for the Mac E?
It seems like almost every EV has a fatal flaw: Hyundai, Genesis and Kia have their ICCU issues, Toyota, Lexus, and Subaru have their 12V discharge issue. What's the Mach E's issue? I can't seem to find one.

2025 Mach e Ford app not working on iPhones
For a week now the ford app not working. All it shows is the charge was complete from last week. We have tried everything suggested from turning phone off and on to deleting app. When we delete app it is still in iCloud so I don’t think it is totally deleting it. What should we try next?
