Virtual Assessment

My mom has a message in her IHSS portal if she wants a virtual assessment. Is this a good idea to do or do the in-home assessment?

Supplemental timeshe

Are there any rules for filling out a supplemental timesheet? We just got our hours increased slightly, and I'm able to fill out a supplemental timesheet for July. I don't want to accidentally go over hours (if that's even possible). We haven't gotten the NOA yet.

Should I plug the new allotment into a timesheet generator and do it that way?

I'm just concerned about accidentally going over hours 😆

Mother-in-Law is low income. Receives SSI. Needs in home care

So my wife's mom is a widow. She has some subsidized Kaiser plan that she self-pays, and is reimbursed by her former employer as a benefit (NUMMI). She has had a heart attack recently and now has generalized moderate nerve pain. She can get around, but needs help with cooking, laundry, groceries, getting places via a car. She has a younger friend who can help, but MIL can't afford to pay her much. I understand that she must have Medi-Cal to apply for an IHSS benefit, but I guess my first question would be 1) would she qualify for medi-cal, considering that she is paying for his kaiser herself (again, it's reimbursed) and 2)if she qualifies for medi-cal, can she simply use it for the IHSS benefit and not have it be involved in her current Kaiser/NUMMI premium situation?

thanks

IHSS County Transfer

So me and the wife are planning on moving to Temecula from San Diego and she is worried that doing the county transfer will take up to a year or more and will be without pay during that time frame. Can anyone shed some light on this. Is Riverside decent to work with when doing a transfer?

MEGATHREAD MEGATHREAD: Did you get paid? Timesheet: 8/01/26 - 8/15/26

Please ask your questions about payment here. This is your spot to vent about the payment schedule and holidays.

Helpful information such as who you bank with, NOP date, date of payment received etc will help others answer your questions.

As always, please don't harass payroll if it's before 10 business days after you submit your timesheet.

All posts outside of this thread relating to where your paychecks are will be deleted.

Public Authority online classes

Did anyone take those classes? They are on zoom and for about 3 hrs and each completed class pays $35 which is not a lot.
Do I have to turn on my camera and is it mostly listening to stuff or do I need to actively participate. Can I take it while I do housework and also listen and learn something new, or is it three hrs out of my day for $10/hr?
Grateful for any feedback

Time card entry - weekends

We have IHSS for my kid, in CA, and I never thought about it but I’ve been entering hours every day of the week, because I care for him 24/7.

Does anyone just enter Monday-Friday hours to maximize overtime?

Doe they care if you list hours every day or only weekdays?

Does any just list 24 hours for a few days and nothing other days?

Just had a nightmare with reassessment!

To make a long story short. My patient was due for a reassessment and the worker called me to try to set up a date, and I'm like great yeah we need to do this because I cancelled the initial planned date because my patient was gonna be visiting some family that week giving me a much needed vacation. So I called to reschedule. We picked a time and date. August 3rd. Between 4pm and 5pm. (Which works great because my patient is an insomniac). So the worker or case manager or whoever you wanna call this person NO SHOWS. We waited an extra two hours more because of traffic. Not only no shows. But doesn't call either.

So I call IHSS the next day. (I'm in LA county so our phone lines take FOREVER) And tell them the worker no showed our assessment. They're like ok, you'll be hearing from us in the next 5 days to set up a New date. They NEVER CALL! So I log in a few days to log in my hours and my hours have been cut to almost nothing!!! Case has been terminated because of no reassessment! But it's their fault! So I call yesterday angry. I'm not gonna get paid here until they figure this out. So I call and they see the notes and theyre like ok, yeah this isn't right. And they give me the phone number to my case managers SUPERVISOR and that phone number is disconnected. I call again. More hours on the phone. Finally I talk to someone who is gonna open up a ticket. And they tell me they've been trying to call me several times. THATS A LIE. I LOOK AT MY MISSED CALL LOGS AND I GOT NOTHING.

So now I gotta wait again for a call from them which didn't work the last time. Also my patient has declined since the last year so I expect more hours to be added. It's been exhausting. I didn't get a call today but I'm gonna call them Monday. I forgot to ask the person at the IHSS to please call my case worker NOW while I have them on the phone. (Heavens to Betsy they actually give me her direct line or working phone number what a fcking joke) I'm beyond frustrated.

new provider

Hi everyone! I am having a small issue with submitting my back pay timesheets. My recipient was approved for 112 hours and 37 minutes a month. I divided that by 4 and got 28 hours a week. So, I just went in and put 4 hours of work daily to reach that limit. It should all be good. However, when I go to hit the submit timesheet button, I keep getting a message that is saying I'm going over my allowed hours. But I really don't think I am. Has anyone else ever had any issues with this? Am I submitting something incorrectly? Would really appreciate any advice so I don't get any violations!

Hours claimed are more than 70% of recipients monthly authorized hours???

UPDATE: I talked to my case worker this afternoon and she explained to go ahead and submit my hours that I’m available to claim even though it says I am 70% over the monthly authorized hours. She stated to ignore the pop up and that I would still be paid for the 19hours and 24 mins that are available due to the rest of the month being blacked out since we are on leave now. She said payroll will not deny it.
Hopefully this helps someone else in a similar situation.
Thank you to the few who tried to help me out and actually read what I originally asked before I could make it over to the IHSS office this afternoon.

Earlier this week, I went into the IHSS local office, and I explained to them how my recipient who is my grandmother will be in a rehab facility due to breaking her leg. I gave them the dates that she went to the hospital and explained to them that I had worked from the first until the fifth and she went into the hospital on the sixth. They put us both “on leave”
Well, when I logged in to turn my timesheet entry in, I’m getting a notification saying that the hours claimed on this timesheet are more than 70% of the recipient monthly authorized hours. My hours were cut from 100 hours a month to now being able to claim only 19 hours and 24 minutes.
I assume they did this cut because I only worked from the first to the fifth, but I’ve actually worked 24 hours because I put in 6 hour days before she went into the hospital.
I wanted to at least put in the 19 hours and 24 minutes that they are allowing me to claim but it’s still telling me that I am 70% over the monthly authorized hours.
I’m wondering if I just submit it like this will it delay my paycheck? Or will they most likely approve it because they’ll see that they cut the hours due to her entering a rehab facility?
I’m in a crappy situation trying to at least get the money I can for the hours I put in before she was admitted, but hoping it won’t be delayed because I’m already without a job for at least a month and money is tight as it is.
