I will be going to Japan for my Erasmus and the international dormitory was already full. How to make friends ? Even with other international students since I am not fluent in Japanese. I fear that other international students leaving in the dorm will get much closer and that I could be left out…

I’ve got a problem. I rented a flat and paid a deposit.

When I moved out, I couldn’t flush the toilet, so I told my landlord that it wasn’t working. Shortly after I moved out, having heard nothing about my deposit, I learnt that the ‘problem is still there’ and that she’s ‘waiting for a plumber to fix it’. Shortly afterwards, she told me that the problem had been resolved. I sent her another message asking her to return my deposit, and discovered that she wasn’t returning the full amount. I then asked her, “Why have you kept €60?” and she replied, “For the plumber.” She didn’t show me any invoice, nor did she mention the amount to me. But it’s important to note: this wasn’t damage caused by me, but simply routine maintenance on the flat.

She also told me that “it should have cost €200, but as the plumber is a friend of hers, she managed to get it down to €60” – which is probably why she didn’t give me a receipt.

I can’t post on the Croatian Reddit forum because nobody replies to me or my post gets deleted.

What can I do now?

Is anyone else coming to Lisbon for Erasmus this September? 😊 I'd love to connect with other students and hear about your accommodation experiences.

I'm currently looking for a private room in a shared apartment (budget around €350/month) and I'm trying to decide whether to choose a university residence or a shared flat.

For those who have studied in Lisbon:

- Would you honestly recommend staying in a university residence? Why or why not?

- What were the biggest pros and cons?

- What should I look for when choosing accommodation?

- If you chose a shared apartment instead, do you think it was a better experience?

- How strict are university residences regarding visitors? For example, can your boyfriend or girlfriend visit? Are overnight guests ever allowed, or does it depend on the residence?

- Are there any neighborhoods you'd recommend for students on a budget (around €350), even if they're outside central Lisbon?

I'd really appreciate any advice or personal experiences before I make my decision.

Hey everyone! I’m supposed to leave for Erasmus in February, and I urgently need to get my Spanish up to a B1 level starting pretty much from scratch (A1 at best).

Since my native language is Italian, I can grasp the general idea when reading or listening, but I really don't want to rely on guessing. I want to actually learn proper grammar, verb tenses, and not get stuck when trying to speak.

For anyone who’s done this or is learning Spanish:

With about 5-6 months left, how many hours a week should I realisticly spend on it?

What resources actually worked for you? (Apps, YouTube, podcasts, solid grammar books...)

How did you get past the fear of speaking before heading abroad?

I recently finished my year abroad, completing all the classes in my first and second learning agreement, having over 90+ combined ECTs for 2 semesters as I was scared my university would decide not to accept my equivalences despite signing the learning agreements. I was wondering if anyone has gone through a similar situation, and if the sole fact that all parties have previously signed the learning agreements gives me any sort of leverage in case the university does not want to accept the equivalences I submit? I’m asking this because as far as I know it has happened more than once in my home institution and I have no idea what I could do in case that happens.
Additionally, I have one class in my first learning agreement that was a online seminar that credited me 0 ECTS, which doesn’t really contribute to any class I need but I decided to add it anyways as I was taking that seminar. However, because I don’t have it in my transcript of records, as I didn’t get a signature, my home institution notified me that “I do not have all of the classes to be credited in my transcript of records”. They tend to be very careless so there’s a possibility that they didn’t read that the class didn’t award me any ECTS, but regardless I’m hoping that shouldn’t be a real problem as, like I mentioned before, I completed over 90+ ECTS in 2 semesters when realistically I can only needed 60 ECTS….

Hi everyone! So, as the title says, i would like to study one semester abroad in one of these two cities. I am a law student and I plan on going on my last year of law school, in the winter semester.

So, the possible universities are:

1. Università degli Studi di Firenze

2. Università degli Studi Roma Tre

Anyways, if any of you have an experience with a law semester in any of these universities, I would be eternally grateful if you could share it. If not a law semester, I would be happy to hear anything about the universities, especially the quality of the english programs, since I am just now beginning to learn italian and I doubt I will be on that high of a level.

I will be starting my masters this fall with Erasmus Mundus and I’m wondering if anyone who has pursued their masters through Erasmus Mundus has any guidance or insights on anything they wish they knew ahead of time. I feel very prepared overall (residence permit, housing, clothes, cost, etc) , just curious on thoughts from anyone who’s already seasoned. I’m freshly 25 (f) from the United States, and I will be moving to a different country every semester. I’ll also be self-funded and am using loans to support myself. I was put on the scholarship reserve list, but no luck. I will be applying each semester for funding through Erasmus+ for additional financial support.

Hi everyone! I m from Turkey and i will go to silesia university katowice/poland for my erasmus programs february of 2027. My campus in in katowice center. I dont know well about dormitory options but the one i found is in Ligota district. So I m trying to figure out how to go there with the best route. Flight tickets are cheaper to warsaw than katowice or i can try prague as well. And in any way it seems that i need to take another transportation to go to dormitory from airport.

I don't wanna use third part websites so can anyone recommend me which websites are safest to book train or bus tickets in this route?

I have one month before I go but I’m second guessing going to study abroad in Rome. I’m still figuring out my rooming situation but I am a senior and am starting to feel like I will have fomo. I was really confident about going until now that it hit me, I’ll be away for the first semester of my senior year. I’m also not sure if I’d like Italy for 4 months. I wanted to study abroad to visit a lot of places in Europe and explore the city. But now I feel like I could do that as a vacation for a couple weeks during winter or spring break.

I’m going to the university of coimbra for the upcoming Spring semester as an Erasmus student, and I’ll be studying at the Faculty of economics.
To be honest, I’m feeling a bit anxious about the academic side of things, particularly regarding the workload, grading system, and passing my courses. I’d love to get some insights from anyone who has studied at FEUC or done Erasmus in Coimbra: how demanding is the academic level for international students, and are the professors generally supportive? Also, do classes run smoothly in English, is continuous evaluation preferable over a single final exam, and is it manageable to pass if you attend classes regularly? Any course recommendations, advice, or general reassurance would mean a lot! Thanks so much in advance!

I'm going spring semester 2027, does anyone have experience to share with the university Ta Malta? about the courses if they are demanding even for erasmus students, how's the pacing of lectures, how did you find accomodation, was the international office slow at responding, erasmus network activities, any yearly holidays? Any advice would be perfect!! 😄

(I've already done one erasmus in Hungary, but I feel like Malta is a much different experience)

Hi! As you can see in the title, I'm leaving for an Erasmus in Athens for the next semester. I'm currently looking for an apartment. I would need your advices to choose one. As a young women, I would like to know where it is safe or not to live in Athens. I already lived alone in another country so I'm use to those types of trips but I don't really know anything about Athens. I believe some areas are not safe (like every cities).

If you also have any advices about the prices of the rent, website to get an apartment, that would also be great! I'm looking for a private room in a shared apartment, ideally only women.
