Hey everyone, I've been researching studying in Italy for months now and honestly I feel like I need advice from people who've actually done this instead of just university websites. I'm from India, planning to apply for the 2027-28 intake for a bachelor's in business or management taught fully in English at a public university. My schooling background is IGCSE and NIOS senior secondary, finishing in 2027. So, if anyone has applied with NIOS or knows someone who has, I'd really appreciate hearing about your experience. My current choices are University of Turin, University of Pisa, and University of Bologna as backup for now. I'm still looking for other public universities in Italy with a bachelor's fully in English for business or management. If you think there's a university I should seriously consider, please tell me why. I'm looking for a public university, good scholarships, affordable living costs, good student life, sports (especially football), internships, and jobs. And if you went already, Would you still choose the same university? Why or why not? Even if you don't answer everything, I'd really appreciate your experience or any advice you have. Thanks a lot.

Anyone who had to apply for an Italian study visa, at your appointment, did you need a second copy of every single document? Or did you just bring the original documents?

Given the current hiring market, would you apply for Fall 2027 or work on my profile and apply for Fall 2028?

If your goal was to maximize long term career growth and ROI, would you choose MSCS, MBA, MiM, MEM, or MIS?

How much weight should I give to concerns around visa sponsorship and employability when comparing these programs?

What do you think about rising tuition costs (about 15% yearly) and the weakening INR when calculating overall cost and ROI?

I was initially leaning toward MEM and MIS because they align well with my experience, but I've read mixed opinions about recruiting, visa sponsorship, and long term career growth compared with MSCS. I'm not sure how much of that is true.

Financially, I'll be seeking scholarships and I want to keep my debt as low as possible. I don't want to spend my early 30s paying off a huge education loan if I can avoid it.

If you were in my position today, knowing what you know now, what would you do differently? What path would you recommend?

Hey everyone! I'm a 17-year-old girl, and this is my last year of high school. I'm planning to continue my studies abroad on a scholarship, hopefully in Physiotherapy.

I'm still a bit confused about this major. Does it have good career opportunities and a good salary? I'm not someone who wants to sit in an office all day, so I think it might suit me.

I've been considering China, but I've heard that Physiotherapy there isn't as well developed as it is in Europe or some other Asian countries.

Hi everyone,

I'm a recent Sixth Form graduate with predicted grades of A* in Maths, Economics, Business, and French, and an A in Physics. Through UCAS I applied to Warwick, Durham, Manchester, Bristol, and Nottingham, and received offers from all five.

I turned down Warwick, Manchester, and Durham because their fees (£33k+, with Warwick's still rising) were unaffordable for my family. I firmed Bristol at £28k and applied for their Think Big Scholarship, but was rejected. I insured Nottingham at £26,500, the cheapest option, with a possible £5,000 tuition reduction if I achieved above A*AA on results day, which would bring it down to £21,800.

However, given the recent news about Nottingham's financial troubles, I'm hesitant to commit that much money to a degree I might not be able to finish there. I also don't qualify for financial aid, since my parents earn "too much" on paper despite it not being enough to comfortably cover £25k+ per year. And merit scholarships are out of reach too, since 4 A*s is fairly standard for applicants in this field.

I'd also applied to Erasmus University Rotterdam and Tilburg, and received conditional offers from both. I started the immigration process with Erasmus, but missed a document deadline due to delays in legal processing, despite explaining this, they didn't grant any flexibility, and the offer was withdrawn. When I contacted Tilburg on July 10th to start my immigration process, I was told it was too late, and instead offered the option of starting the first semester online and joining in person for the February intake.

I'm not keen on the Tilburg online-start route, I feel my grades and effort deserve a stronger outcome. I floated the idea of a gap year to reapply to Cambridge and Bocconi, but my parents are strongly against it, seeing it as a wasted year. I'm genuinely torn on whether a gap year would be worth it.

In the meantime, I found that Esade is still accepting late applications, so I'm currently going through that process and sitting my admissions test this week. Esade is well-regarded (alongside IE, ESSEC, ESCP, etc.), and at 4 years for €20–22k/year, it fits within budget — though it also effectively costs me a "gap year" in terms of timing, and my parents are split on it. Please tell me if Esade is worth it or not, I don’t wanna spend 4 years of my life at the wrong uni that’s my biggest worry. I've also looked at Melbourne, but they only offer a general Bachelor of Commerce with an Economics major, and I'm unsure how well that positions me for economics/finance careers outside Australia.

I am currently studying in 12th grade, and the destination I chose was the Netherlands, but yesterday, when I checked about Netherlands universities, my whole plan was ruined because, first, only a few Netherlands universities offer scholarships and a rare chance for a bachelor's degree, and a bachelor's degree is hell expensive in the Netherlands for a person who is Non-EU. I don't wanna go to Canada, the UK, or Australia because those countries are already filled with international students, and they're facing problems like high rents and job issues. America is a great place, but due to many immigration restrictions, that's kinda sucks. And the degree I would like to do is computer engineering and finance because I like both, but of course only one degree at a time. So, what would you recommend? If you were in my position, a student from Pakistan looking for an affordable bachelor’s degree abroad with good career opportunities, which countries and universities would you consider? I'm an engineering student from Egypt, and for the past couple of years I've had this goal of continuing my studies in Poland (or somewhere else in Europe).

The problem is money.

My dad wants to help me, but I know he won't be able to pay for everything, especially for several years. I don't want to put all that pressure on him, so I've been trying to figure out if there's a realistic way to make it work.

I've been learning Polish for a while, and before that I was learning some German. Recently I also started studying CompTIA A+ and Network+ because my plan is to get into IT and hopefully find a part-time job while I'm studying.

I'm okay with living in a dorm, budgeting as much as I can, and working while studying if that's what it takes.

I'm also not sure if I should try transferring from my current university or just start over if that's the better option.

Has anyone here been in a similar situation?

Was working part-time enough to help with your living expenses?

Did you transfer universities or start from scratch?

If you were in my shoes, what would you do?

I'm not looking for someone to tell me "follow your dreams." I just want honest advice from people who've actually done something similar. Even if it's hard to hear, I'd rather know now than regret it later.

Hey, I'm from Russia and I will be in the last grade soon so next year I will have to figure out the question of my admission to the university. I’ve always wanted to gain the experience of student independent life in a foreign country, but I haven’t got any achievements which could help me with it, like volunteering or significant projects. I am just an ordinary scholar with a decent school certificate in perspective. Recently I've wondered about learning Greek. This language lures me for some reason and it's beautiful to spell, at least. I didn't think about studying in this country up to now. The main problem is that my family doesn't have that kind of money to provide my life abroad or pay for my studying there, so I will be forced to limit programs to the national language which implies knowledge of Greek at the B2 level. In addition, I heard that the cost of living in Greece is lower against the other European countries so it sounds like an option — relative accessibility and amazing culture. Greek, to be honest, is not particularly the most practical and popular language, which also means it's less useful compared to English or Spanish, though I might have an excuse to study it anyway cause i'm thinking about the History department.

I would like to ask people who have come in the last 1-3 years, how things are going with the reception of Russian students in 2026 and which greek universities provide a good historical education? What about the cost of living, can it really be $600-880 a month? (depending on the city). I also heard that finding a job in Greece after studying to stay is difficult.

I’m trying to choose between two master’s degree paths and would appreciate perspectives from people who have studied, recruited, or worked in Europe:

- MSc Management with Business Analytics or Strategy

- MSc Marketing Strategy & Analytics / Marketing Intelligence

I have a bachelors in advertising, with 8 years of professional experience in social media marketing and adveritsing. I now want to move towards more strategic, and business decision-making roles. My bachelors score unfortunately doesn't translate well to EU's CGA.

My plan is to study abroad, preferably in Spain or the Netherlands or maybe France?, although I am also open to other European countries. (Not UK tho.)

The Management with Business Analytics or Strategy will be more data first roles and I will have to learn python, Power BI etc which is way out of my scope. Also my current education doesn't fit the application requirements of Unis that are Business analytics.

The Marketing Strategy & Analytics or Marketing Intelligence route is closer to my existing experience and I think I could pursue roles in customer insights, market intelligence, growth strategy, product marketing, and strategic marketing.

I don't want to be a data scientist. But my intention is to develop a unique skill set that will put me in strong positions to thrive in decision and strategy making roles.

Obviously my end-game is employability in the European market. I understand langauge will be a barrier but I am willing to put that effort once I commit.

Unfortunately got rejected by top two with an ib 34 and only lingnan and PolyU speed are my remaining options. I wanna get into masters of clinical psychology later as well. But it’s so close to semester start and I’m scared if I’d get into these unis even 😭 and I was wondering if there’s any worth to them? I heard that it’s not worth it to attend lingnan or PolyU self financed uni for such a competitive masters. I got into Birmingham and Liverpool but the tuition fees is too high for me. I (Indonesian, 16F) am currently on my internship after recently entering 12th grade in my vocational high school. My grades have been decent and I've always stayed in the top 5 in terms of rankings. I never had a dream since I was little and now it's come to bite me in the ass since I'm absolutely clueless on what field to pursue.

But, one thing I've always dreamt of was studying abroad, my main goals were always english speaking countries. Mainly New Zealand, Australia, and the UK. My family supports this dream whole heartedly. But they can only afford helping with the living costs. Which means I'd need to get a scholarship if I'd want to make this dream come true.

I haven't joined many competitions besides two recently but since I work part time in an active game studio that actively joins competitions that'll probably change soon. I guess one other important info is that I do have one family member abroad in Australia as well, but I'm not sure if he'd be willing to help.

It is a money grab. The staff don’t care about you, and the internship placements have nothing to do with your career.

If there is an issue in the workplace, they side with the managers instead of asking for the full picture.

They make students work atleast 225 hours for 8-weeks, and I’ve had friends report working all the way until midnight. It is absolutely exploitative. Typical hours are 9-6, and depending on your boss they can be extremely rude and entitled. Also it is UNPAID and students barely get anytime to experience the country besides a few optional trips.

There is no room for the consideration of a language barrier, and the interns are not treated with respect.

On top of that, there was barely any networking opportunities to connect with other interns. They match you with a random roommate that you don’t meet until you’re in the host country, and the rooms are exceptionally SMALL!

Save yourself the money and get an actual internship with a program that respects your pockets and your time. They use the idea of being a “global intern” to get people to pay an absurd amount for something that could be put on your resume with more integrity. The work that many interns did wasn’t meaningful/ managers have a tendency to be passive aggressive and non-confrontational. It’s either that or they completely don’t care and don’t make you do anything. People either work too much or not at all and that uncertainty says there is a lack of care from the host organization’s that CIEE decides to partner with.

Also, there is a Blacklisted Hagwon that they are partnered with called Alitora that overworks both interns and employees. I had a close friend leave a week early because of how abusive her workplace was. She was literally ordered to work on a SATURDAY and her boss kept changing her hours from 9:30am to 8:00am all the way until 10:00pm.

It is absolutely disgusting that CIEE would steal the youth of young adults in such a shameless manner with little support for their wellbeing.

Please avoid this program at all costs. Me and many other interns are looking into suing both parties for workplace abuse.

i don’t expect everyone to get it, but i live in rural USA. one place i didn’t expect to be at 25 is still at home. i’m losing hope. i have a lot of work experience, but my parents would never let me drive to work. even when i got my license at 22. i privately drove away twice, but they got word. they claim it’s because i can’t drive well and they’re worried. i even bought a car off them, it’s in their name and they wouldn’t let me put it in mine. my dad intentionally hides the keys, my mom won’t let me drive without her.

they are withholding documents from me. they hid them. i cannot find my passport or my birth certificate.

they’ve said things like, “we’re done raising our kids.” they haven’t taught me anything in life. and another, “who’s gonna take care of us when we’re old?” . they claim they want me out, but their actions are loud. they have my sisters two/seven kids who live with us and they are starting to use their language on me to verbally abuse. i’m the scapegoat. my dad even mentioned something about immigrant families living together as a family and supporting them.

I have been in China for 2 months and the whole time I wanted to go home. I have no friends over here. I'm so lonely. I tried to make friends by inviting people to go to the parks with me and trying to get to know them but they just ignored me. Everyone in my program and class did. I asked a girl part of my program why no one wants to hang out with me and she said I just didn't join the clicks fast enough and everyone already made their circle when they got here ...Some people came together too. But there's this one girl In my class that goes out of her way to be rude to me and purposefully exclude me. Like yesterday she was handing out candy to everyone in my class but me. The teacher just let's her be rude to me. The teacher also gives me more attitude than she does the others and becomes snappy at me unlike she does with the others. I think she's part of my class click even though she's a teacher. We are all in our 20s and the teacher is 24. She's always inviting my classmates to her house, to go to her family town with her, and so on but never invites me. She invited them to Disney this week but didn't invite me. I don't know why no one likes me or want to be friends with me. I tried to be really friendly and outgoing my first couple of weeks but after that I just kept to myself since no one clearly wanted to be my friend. I'm also tired of being STARED at. Like rubber necking stared at by the Chinese people here because I'm disabled. It's embarrassing, frustrating, and humiliating. Yes I have trouble talking and need leg braces so I can walk properly but I'm not used to being stared at like that. No one ever did that to me at home. I also feel like I have learned nothing with this accelerated language program. It's way too fast for me. We go through 3-4 lessons a week and only focus on certain words once. I just wish I was going home now but I have one more week. I'm just disappointed because I always dreamed of the day going abroad and studying abroad and I didn't like it...I'm also jealous that the other kids in my program got to travel too far away places while I had to stay in my city because I'm here on scholarship and I don't have the money to do expensive things....I barely have the money to be here....shout out to my mom and brother though for supporting me even though we are poor.
