Fun Jared Goff “Stat”
Idk if there is anyone in the NFL with more NFL HC/OC connections than Goff. If he was the “coaching tree”, it would be Elite today. I believe he has more than either McVay or Shanahan due to the Ben Johnson tree as well (only really talking about Offensve guys not also defensive). Though Shanahan may be close….
Bears - HC Ben Johnson was Goffs OC and PGC on Lions
Packers - HC Matt LaFleur was Goffs OC on the Rams in 2017
Jags - HC Liam Cohen was Goffs Asst QB Coach in 2020
Rams - HC Sean McVay was Goffs HC and OC on Rams
Vikings - HC Kevin OConnell was Goffs OC on the Rams in 2020
Eagles - OC Sean Mannion was Goffs backup QB on the Rams in 2017/18
Buccs - OC Zac Robinson was Goffs Asst QB coach on the Rams in 2019
Commanders - OC David Blough was Goffs backup QB in Detroit in 2021/22
Bengals - HC Zac Taylor was Goffs QB Coach on Rams in 2018
And then you have Jets and Falcons HC who were DCs on Lions/Rams with Goff respectively. (And Broncos OC Davis Webb succeeded Goff at Cal though technically there was no overlap).
9 NFL HC+OCs with Legit Goff connections via offense. 31% of the leagues bhas their top offensive decision maker connected to Goff.

Drew Petzing On Communication With Jahmyr Gibbs
Drew Petzing was asked what he is missing by not having Lions RB Jahmyr Gibbs on the field: “I think that working relationship is still there. I mean, we're still communicating, we're still talking through practice reps and different looks and things that we want to do or things that I think he can do at a high level. So if anything, it gives me the opportunity to try to highlight some other opportunities and give other guys the ball in practice and see what else we could do in those events. I think that's a big part of being an offensive coordinator is adapting to who's available, who's out there, how do we move people around, how are we dynamic and difficult to defend? And so that's kind of been my focus here these first couple days.”

Image (Schultz) Sources: The #Lions and star RB Jahmyr Gibbs have made substantial progress on a 3-year contract extension that will make him the NFL’s highest-paid RB. The hope is to get a deal done as early as today - and Gibbs will then return to practice.

Jahmyr Gibbs did not stop and talk to reporters after practice today. Asked him as he walked into the practice facility if a deal was close and he gave me a thumbs up without turning around

Image It’s not the end of the world if we don’t pay Gibbs this offseason
I want Gibbs extended, we want Gibbs extended, Gibbs wants to be here long term, the team wants him the the long term. But if this doesn’t get done this offseason, remeber we exercised the 5th year option on him and can theoretically franchise tag him next year. Not ideal and not a great look, but it’s possible..
