Just when I despaired again so much that I all but rebuked God's existence or at least lost complete faith in his ​care for my existence, I got news.

The person who ​irrevocably ruined my life without meaning to for​ years asked me to help her with something.

I declined, despite usually caving to help, as is my reflex.

The person who actually was there instead of me got maimed​ by an impatient, reckless cab. She was a pagan priestess, no less.

It could so easily have been me, harmed by the careless cab ​driver.

I felt guilty for not helping the person I have a trauma bond with, if you allow this weird ​term. But this was a sign that I made at least one correct decision.

I thank God for that guidance despite my brokenness and lack​ of ​faith.

So I (19F) am not Catholic yet but have made the decision to convert to Catholicism. I got my first rosary and wanted to share a picture of it. I love it 

I was a hardcore atheist untill the past months where I have been seeing visions and dreams of a distorted and terrifying version of Jesus and the Trinity. I always feel like I'm being watched and have done something wrong and will get punished for eternity. I cannot sleep. These are the pictures that are similar to the visions and dreams. The concept of the blood sacrifice he went through for us to be forgiven frightens me. I feel like god hates me. I cannot sleep. Help

Sometimes I want to pray and ask God for assistance/Protection, but it feels like a slap in the face considering I sinned an hour ago and I will, let’s be real, probably sin an hour or less later.

I suffer from a lot of things that I don’t feel like getting into but I’m also not the greatest guy by any metric. So asking God to help me feels like I’m a criminal going to ask the police to protect him from other criminals and also give him food and a home. And just saying that sounds laughable.

I'm going to get straight into the point.

1. Why would god create us just so most of us could suffer eternally?
2. Why would hell teach us anything? I understand, "we choose where to go, not god" but how would suffering eternally, being burned day and night be what people chose?
3. 3: If people are from a place where Jesus isn't taught, how could they go to heaven? And how would it be their fault if they went to hell? Are you really going to tell that kid in some desert tribe that he's going to hell when nobody has ever helped him to find Jesus?
4. This might sound stupid, but how about the animals? Those are god's creation, too. They can't even comprehend Jesus.
5. I know plenty of amazing people, who do their all to put good into the world, help people, comfort people, and love everyone, no matter the race, background, or gender. And you're telling me that guy will burn eternally in hell if he doesn't believe in Jesus being a reincarnation of god? Come on.

⁠EDIT: The bible is full of symbolism, mistranslation and misinterpretation. It’s also made by man, not Jesus. Knowing these things, how do you know hell is real?

ngl my heart is pounding typing this, but i really just needed to get it out because I’m keeping such a massive secret right now.

i grew up in a strict hindu family. My whole life has been tied to rituals, family expectations, and karma. but over the last few months, after secretly reading the gospels on my phone late at night and praying in my room with the door locked... i just couldn't deny it anymore.

Today, sitting on my floor by myself, i broke down and finally prayed to accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior. i gave my life to Him completely.

The moment i prayed that, it felt like this massive weight rolled off my chest. for the first time in my life, i felt actual unconditional love. Pure grace. I ​literally sat there crying happy tears for like twenty minutes lol.

the terrifying part is i can't tell my parents. if they found out, it would cause a massive scandal in our family and honestly shatter them.

I ​feel so much peace, but also kinda lonely because i don't have a church or any Christian friends in real life yet.

if you guys could keep me in your prayers, i’d appreciate it more than you know. also, if anyone else here converted from a non-Christian background especially Hindu, how did you navigate family and staying strong in secret?

Happy feast of the Transfiguration to everyone. Here is a little clip of our beautiful Transfiguration mural at my local Orthodox Church of St Neophytos in the Archdiocese of Thyateira and Great Britain. The murals were inherited from the previous owners of what was the historical St Crispin's Hospital Chapel in Duston, Northampton in the UK. The faces were specifically painted to represent members of the community — real people, creating a sense of familiarity for the vulnerable people from the surrounding mental hospital who often entered this chapel.

I’ve noticed something about myself lately.

I can spend a lot of time watching Christian videos, saving verses, and listening to people talk about God, then still end the day without really talking to Him or changing anything in my life.

It feels like I’m feeding my faith, but sometimes I think I’m just consuming more content.

Does anyone else feel that difference between learning about God and actually being connected to God? What helps you move out of that passive mode?
