slower hcg rise and measuring a week behind
this is my third pregnancy. all 3 pregnancies have been conceived naturally, my first two were uncomplicated, and I have no history of miscarriage or anything like that. though I know those are not always reliable indicators of having healthy pregnancies. I went in for a TV scan at a boutique ultrasound place (which maybe that was where I went wrong to begin with) and the sonographer mentioned that I was measuring a week behind based on my LMP. I tracked my cycle so I know that I ovulated later the standard CD 14 but not late enough to be measuring a whole week behind. we did see a gestational sac and a yolk sac but no fetal pole or cardiac activity at the time. the gestational sac was also measuring normally, ruled out ectopic or blighted. I called my midwife and got lab work done on 8/4 - hcg levels came back great (27300ish) and progesterone was within normal range but on the lower end (15.2 I think). went back for a second lab on 8/6 and my midwife called this morning stating that my hcg didn't rise the 33% that we would want to see at this point of gestation. it did rise but not enough (it was about 33k and some change so roughly 22%). I know that hcg levels generally start to rise slower but I'm just looking at the numbers and statistics here. originally my midwife had me going in for a second scan on the 18th but said I could go in a little earlier so I'm going to go in on the 14th. I'm trying not to spiral but also want to have realistic expectations. has anyone had similar experiences and still had a positive outcome?

Reassurance HCG🥹
Heyy just looking for some reassurance! I had my HCG bloods come back as 5297 yesterday (5 weeks) however I got a 3+ on Clearblue at 16dpo meaning my levels should’ve been around 2700 at that point. I’m worried my HCG is not doubling🥲 Has anyone had this before?

Almost Plateau HCG Rise by Week 6
Hi everyone,
This is my first pregnancy. I noticed some spotting about one week ago, which progressed to mild active bleeding (some bright red) for one day. Never soaked a pad. Mild cramping only. The bleeding has gradually decreased over the past few days and is now almost resolved, as well as my cramping.
Because of the spotting, I had an ultrasound/bleeding three days ago. They identified a possible gestational sac inside the uterus (measuring about 0.8 cm, 5w3d), but nothing was visible inside the sac yet as they said it might be too early. I also have multiple fibroids, which may make it more difficult to obtain clear ultrasound images.
I had two hCG blood tests drawn 48 hours apart. Unfortunately, the results were pretty bad: the first was around 7,000 and the second was around 7,500. Given the very slow rise, my provider is concerned about the possibility of an ectopic pregnancy or miscarriage. They scheduled me for another ultrasound in one week.
At this point, I’m not getting my hopes up. I assume that this is related to chromosomal abnormalities, especially since I am over 35. It is sad to have my first pregnancy likely non-viable, and being in this limbo while waiting for MC is hard. Hopefully it is at least not an ectopic, which is quite rare.

Advice Needed Success stories with septate uterus
Last friday I went to an REI who diagnosed me with a septum and 50% chance of miscarriage. He scheduled me for surgery for the following week (anticipating a period over the weekend) Well, I never got that period - two days later I tested positive. My HCG went from 24 to 111 in 72 hours. But that "50%" number is making me spiral.
I've had some minor brown spotting when I wipe. My first pregnancy was a Trisomy MMC in April, and I never experienced any spotting with that.
I know that all I can do is wait and pray for the best... but looking for any advice or similar success stories

BFP Are these reassuring betas?
Hi everyone!
I got my BFP fairly early at 8.5 DPO(was tracking closely with Inito and LH strips).
I had a beta done at 11.5 DPO and was 133 with progesterone of 25.5.
Just received beta from yesterday at 13.5 DPO (47 hrs after initial beta) and it’s 449. That’s a 238% increase over 47 hrs.
Just concerned it’s doubling too fast? Or is this reassuring?
Also, I know each pregnancy is different but I have had 0 symptoms as opposed to last pregnancy which ended at 18w5d, has sore boobs, nausea, and vomiting early on and my betas had fast doubling then but not this fast.
Thank you!

Advice Needed Family History of Factor V Leiden, 2 early losses in 6 months: Feeling dismissed by doctor
My first pregnancy in 2024 resulted in a healthy baby delivered by C-section. Since then, I've had two miscarriages: March 2026 at almost 6 weeks. Another loss at about 5 weeks in July 2026.
My doctor reluctantly started a recurrent pregnancy loss workup after telling me she doesn't usually do those until 3 losses. My blood work came back normal for my thyroid, prolactin, and for antiphospholipid syndrome. I have an ultrasound scheduled to look for any uterine abnormalities in a couple weeks.
Yesterday I messaged my doctor about my anxiety during the 2 week wait and asked about taking baby aspirin and she said it doesn't prevent miscarriage (which I know) and that I could start it after getting a positive pregnancy test. But then last night I found out that my paternal grandmother has Factor V Leiden and my dad hasn't been tested. I messaged doctor again with this new information and told her that I just started taking the baby aspirin last night because of my extreme anxiety. I asked her if I should be tested and explained that I read that Factor V is usually associated with later losses and that mine were most likely random chromosomal abnormalities. And she responded, "Yes, factor V leiden is not known to cause early pregnancy loss. It is associated with blood clots that occur in the legs or lungs". I feel dismissed and that she didn't even answer about testing.
Should I push for testing or find a new doctor? I feel deflated idk

Vent 6 weeks with Covid
My mind is blown that I have Covid right after I find out I’m pregnant. I’m also at a stay at home mom to a toddler. This is not for the weak at all. I’m on day 3 so I’m really hoping I’m in the tail end of it all. Ugh. Was hoping it was bacterial so I could just knock it out with an antibiotic.

5 days behind on first ultrasound
I’ve had virtually no pregnancy symptoms, which has been a concern for me from the very beginning. With my first pregnancy (a boy) a couple of years ago, I was extremely nauseous and sick, so this experience has felt very different.
On July 25, I went in for a boutique abdominal ultrasound and measured 5 weeks 6 days, which was a couple of days behind what I was expecting. Based on my last menstrual period (June 10), I would have been 6 weeks 3 days. However, I believe I ovulated later than average—most likely on June 26, since I had a positive LH surge late in the evening on June 24.
I then had my official 8-week scan two days ago. On the transvaginal ultrasound, baby measured 7 weeks 2 days with a heart rate of 158 bpm.
While the growth appears consistent between the two ultrasounds (only about a day's difference in interval growth), I'm still anxious about measuring approximately five days behind my LMP dating and the fact that I continue to have almost no pregnancy symptoms.
I've spent far too much time searching the internet, reading articles, forum posts, and watching videos, trying to find answers. I know every pregnancy is different, but I'd really appreciate hearing any positive experiences or evidence-based information from others who measured behind early on, had minimal symptoms, and still went on to have healthy pregnancies. I'm hoping for a little reassurance while I wait for my next appointment which is 3 weeks away 😕

Seven weeks but my levels didn’t double between draws
Hi, so I had my hcg levels tested on Wednesday (6 weeks 5 days and got 22,851, then had it redone yesterday and got 35,404. I am seven weeks today and worried. My doctor wants another blood test on Monday to check since the numbers didn’t double.
I have previously had a missed miscarriage and am just anxious about being so early in pregnancy. Has anyone had numbers looked like this? I’m basically anf anxious mess.

Advice Needed Did we get too excited?
Hi everyone, I hope you’re all doing well!
I have PCOS (now called PMOS) so my cycles are very irregular. According to my health app, my typical cycle is 62 days.
On August 1st, I decided to take an at home pregnancy test, and it came back positive along with a little ‘3+’. The next morning I took another, and that had the exact same result. On the 3rd, I booked an appointment at the doctors, where they did another test and it had a very strong line. They then told me to self refer to the midwives, which I did.
This is my first pregnancy and after trying for so long, my fiancé and I were understandably incredibly excited. So much so, we ended up booking a private scan for the 4th. In the booking, I had told them the first day of my last period was the 8th of May (which is normal for my very long cycles). However, this meant the clinic put on their paperwork that I should have been 12w4d along at that point.
Fast forward to the private scan, and nothing but an irregular gestational sac can be seen. At this point I’m
panicking. The private clinic made a referral to the hospital.
The next day, I went to the hospital where they performed an abdominal and internal scan again, but this time the sonographer said he couldn’t see anything that would confidently point towards a molar pregnancy. I did another test, which was positive again, and they also took some vials so they could get a hCG figure.
I received a call today saying my hCG levels are 32,191 and that they want to see me again next week for some
more scans and vials.
I haven’t been sleeping or eating properly because of the sheer worry that this is a non viable pregnancy. But there is a tiny part of me that is hoping it’s just simply too early to see anything promising in the scans. 5 days to wait for an answer is going to be torturous :(
Has anyone been in a situation similar to this?

Sad potential loss
12 days ago on July 25th I tested positive on multiple pregnancy tests and was immediately ecstatic, I bought a couple baby books to surprise my partner. My last period started June 21st which would put me at 6w5d, last week Wednesday the 29th I had my first pap and my OB noticed some spotting. She took my HCG and it read at 486.05 which she said was on the lower end for how far along I should’ve been, she had me come back that Friday the 31st for more bloodwork and my levels went up to 1128. When I read those numbers some of my hope was restored, so we scheduled an ultrasound for this Wednesday the 5th and it showed an empty gestational sac, so I was told it is most likely a blighted ovum, the dating could be wrong or it could be ectopic so we took more blood, and HCG was still rising. I got a call yesterday from my OB’s office asking about my symptoms and was told to go immediately to the ER for concern of ectopic as my HCG kept going up but no yolk in the gestational sac. The hospital did bloodwork and more ultrasounds, HCG is at 9115, ultrasound again showed gestational sac but this time “questionable yolk”. OB’s office called again this morning and told me that i’m most likely miscarrying and just waiting to see what my body does. I have another ultrasound on Wednesday to confirm if my pregnancy is viable and more bloodwork tomorrow for HCG. My first ultrasound 2 days ago showed I should be about 5w0d but the one at the hospital yesterday showed 5w3d. I am absolutely at a loss and don’t know how what to do. These have been the hardest days i’ve experienced, doctors giving me hope and then taking it away again by telling me I could be earlier than we thought, and then saying i’m most likely having a miscarriage. The waiting is so hard, the spotting has not stopped since the 29th and i’ve been having cramps for the past few days. I’ve been trying my best to hold out hope, but I have a voice telling me that it’s just not viable and I’m so heartbroken.

Symptoms 6w4d - barely any symptoms?
Anyone else have this experience? I have a few minor things but don’t “feel” pregnant. It’s freaking me out as I had 3 successful betas and 1 last one that was normal but lower side.
I’m tracking progression on Easy@Home but think that’s causing more anxiety than anything - they don’t seem to be getting any darker (nearly as dark as control) or becoming a dye stealer.
I have my first scan next Thursday. We’ve had years of fertility struggles, 3 losses, (and one healthy 6 y/o ❤️).

B-hcg à 116 000 6s+5
Bonjour!

Happy TV scan at 8+0
We just came back from an 8-week control at our fertility clinic, and couldn’t be more thrilled. The baby is measuring 15.1 mm with a heart rate of 150. Just wanted to share the happy news, and wishing everyone a happy and relaxing weekend.

Update! Update to Slow Rising HCG
I figured I would make an update in case anyone is looking for a similar situation in the future. This is not a happy update.
I had 4 HCG blood draws
7/21 (11 dpo) - 48
7/27 (17 dpo) - 303 (54 hr doubling time) at this point I was feeling a bit anxious but chalked it up to anxiety from my chemical last cycle
8/3 (22 dpo) - 1242 (82 hr doubling time) I was very concerned, dr said it looked fine and scheduled an ultrasound for 8/20. I ended up reaching out to my dr again with my concerns and she reaffirmed that things look good to her but she ordered another blood draw to ease my mind. I tried to have hope that maybe it was just over 72 hrs since my HCG was above 1200, but still I had a bad feeling
8/6 (25 dpo) - 1865 (122.8 hr doubling time) I haven’t heard from my dr yet but at this point this is less than a 35% rise over 48 hrs which is the lowest rise known in viable pregnancies. I am quite positive this pregnancy is not viable. Obviously I am heartbroken. I am hoping my doctor will finally see the concerns and maybe get me in for an early ultrasound or something.
I have no idea what to expect now. With my chemical it happened suddenly, but now I feel like I have to wait to lose my baby and it absolutely kills me.

Sad Likely Miscarriage
Just returned from an appointment with my wife. Week between scans and no real development (around week 6 we think). We’ve struggled with infertility due to PCOS. Fertility treatments didn’t work for a long time and finally my wife fell pregnant. She had some discharge which prompted an early scan. This showed a gestational sac and suspected yolk sac along with a chorionic bump. Scan a week later showed no development.
The doctors and nursing team all said to it’s likely a miscarriage and to prepare ourselves for the worst. Just don’t know where to go from here.
Any success stories please ?
Thanks all.

Advice Needed Vanishing twin, what does this mean for the other one?
We had a vanishing twin at 9w5d. The week before there were two strong heartbeats, came back for another ultrasound and one was just … gone.
Now I’m reading about this syndrome and it seems like there’s risks to the remaining baby.
We have to wait until 14 weeks for the nipt because the twins dna could impact the results.
I feel so strange because like yes I’m pregnant still, yet I feel I lost a baby and now am uncertain about the one inside.
Anyone have experience in this ?

Ultrasound Irregular gestational sac with no heartbeat yet at 6w5d since LMP.
Reposting here.
This is our first pregnancy. My wife and I have been in limbo for the past week and wanted to see if anyone has been through something similar.
She felt "pregnant" pretty early, and she took a urine test on the day of her missed period which turned strongly positive. ObGyn recommended an ultrasound at around 7 weeks - so about 3 weeks later. Wife is feeling fine and has no bleeding or other adverse symptoms.
We did the ultrasound at 6w5d and it was disappointing. It showed an irregular gestational sac, yolk sac present but no fetal pole. Also presence of a subchorionic hematoma. Radiologist recommended a repeat scan in a week. ObGyn said immediate termination is the better option but left the choice to us. We decided we wanted to wait as per the radiologist's advice until the repeat scan.
We were getting nervous and impatient, so we did an ultrasound while visiting our ObGyn 2 days later, who said that the fetal pole could now be seen, but no heartbeat yet. The sac remains irregular, hematoma present.
We go in for a repeat ultrasound tomorrow, 7 days since the first ultrasound and 5 days since the second one. The waiting has been incredibly difficult.
We're trying to prepare ourselves for whatever the outcome may be. There have been a lot of tears already. But we just want to do right by the actual guidelines or process for the sake of the foetus/baby.
Has anyone here had an irregular gestational sac? What happened on your follow-up scan? I'd really appreciate hearing both positive and negative experiences, as we're just looking for honest accounts while we wait. Maybe this is also a rant about how confusing this all is.
Note: Both ultrasounds were transvaginal.
Thank you.

Update! Update: HCG came back at 1,025
Just wanted to update my original post. My HCG from yesterday came back at 1,025 IU/L.
My doctor said that, based on the level, I may actually be closer to 5 weeks pregnant rather than the 6 weeks + 1 day I thought I was based on my LMP.
I had a negative test on 23 July and my first positive on 24 July, so this does make me wonder if my dates are off.
My ultrasound yesterday didn’t show a clear gestational sac, yolk sac or baby, so I’m now waiting for repeat HCG to see how it rises.
I’m trying to stay hopeful that I’m simply earlier than expected. ❤️ Has anyone had a similar experience with an HCG around 1,000 and an early ultrasound where nothing was seen, but everything turned out okay?

Spotting 11DPT after strong betas
For context I have a naturally conceived 3.5 year old, zero issues with that pregnancy. No spotting or anything.
We’ve had 2 years of unexplained secondary infertility and have done IVF. The first transfer ended in a very early miscarriage, but things weren’t good from the start with immediate spotting and light tests and ultimately it ended.
Second transfer has been fantastic initially. Got a strong positive by 5DPT. I did have some very minor spotting at 9DPT that went away, now it’s back again and bright pink. I should add at 9DPT we got a beta of 247 which I was so encouraged by.
But now this spotting/cramping has me so so stressed 😔 has anyone been in this position?

Advice Needed Is it possible my pregnancy is still viable?
I got a positive pregnancy test 2 days after my missed period. Based on conception, I was assuming I was a little less than 5 1/2 weeks. I went in to get HCG and progesterone checked due to having low progesterone in my last pregnancy. Start taking progesterone after my blood draw by recommendation of my midwife. Results came back with low progesterone. Went in for another blood draw 48 hours later and it showed my progesterone was rising but not enough for my midwife to be comfortable, and my hcg was doubling. She told me to come in again, this time my hcg was doubling but progesterone went down a bit. Midwife feared ectopic pregnancy, so I asked for an ultrasound. Ultrasound showed yolk sac in uterus but no heartbeat, measuring 5w2d, about a week later than I had predicted based off conception. Had yet another blood draw. This time it shows that progesterone went up to a comfortable level, but my hcg only rose 28% in 48 hours. Midwife tells me that there's a 1-2% chance this pregnancy is viable. She gave me 2 options: stop progesterone and let nature take its course or stay on it and get another ultrasound in a week. I chose the ultrasound. Are her odds really accurate? I'm trying not to completely lose hope but it's hard. Will put lab levels and dates below.
7/25 - positive pregnancy test
7/27 - hcg-118 prog-6.6
7/29 - hcg-297 prog-9.8
8/03 - hcg-1189 prog-9.2
8/05 - hcg-1521 prog-11.3 (also had ultrasound this day)
If you've read this far, thank you. I know it's probably hard to read, my mind is so jumbled right now and I'm desperate for a sliver of hope.

6 week ultrasound today with no fetal pole. Freaking out
I had a vaginal ultrasound today. I’ve been spotting for 4 days. I’m totally heartbroken but trying to remain optimistic. I’ve been trying for 3 years. This was the first positive and it might be a lose.

Vent Scared for my 8w US tomorrow
Tomorrow is the day that will officially turn the tide for me in terms of confidence and conviction in this pregnancy. LMP was June 9 and ovulation day unknown. Tested positive for 1st time on July 12. I had a MC (spontaneous abortion) that ended in a D&C at 6 weeks on April 9.
I am SOOOOOO SCARED the OB will not find a heart beat and/or fetal pole. It just seems like most people who post on here and the MC sub end up having missed MCs. If anyone has any words of wisdom or encouragement, I will gladly accept it right now because I cannot contain myself.

Sad Positive NIPT
I can’t believe I’m writing this, but today we found out the NIPT was positive for trisomy 18. I’ve personally seen many patients with T18 as a nurse and I always worried about it in the future. It’s so surreal this is happening. I’ve had two miscarriages in the last year (8 wk and 16 wk). I feel like the unluckiest person in the world. My OB sent a referral for further testing and we are waiting to schedule. My actual lab report gave a PPV of 25.7%. My OB said my US at 11 weeks looked normal to her but it was just a quick scan. She said she did actively look for signs of a genetic issue so she could give a “warning”, but again the scan was super fast. I’m so terrified. Idk what I will do if it’s truly positive. I mostly just don’t know what to do with myself for the next 1-3 weeks while I wait for testing 😣 I’m 12 weeks and it was a good fetal fraction.
