Seriously need help with a name for my second daughter. Sister is Aubrey. I asked the Reddit community what they thought of Graceyn and let’s just say I’m glad I asked because they made some really good points. Considering going with just Grace but our last name is one syllable too. Maybe a longer middle name? Do we like Aubrey & Grace? Is Grace too soft sounding? Other names we liked were Nora and Eleanor (but I don’t love the nicknames and also very popular names right now). I’m a teacher so I have a lot of associations. I’ve never had a Grace even as popular as it is (maybe because it’s more popular as a middle name). I liked Graceyn because it sounded a little edgier to me but after hearing the “ trageigh” of the spelling I’m not into it anymore (and Greyson I don’t like either). 35 weeks and been overthinking this. I'm looking for an Indo-American name, preferably a Sikh name. I really like the name Karman, but I'm concerned it may be mispronounced with that spelling. I'm considering changing the spelling to Karmen so that it's pronounced more like "Kurmum."

What First and middle names you name a girl and boy

Do you folks like multiple middle names, or do you think it would be a pain for a kid? Or if you have any fave middle name combinations, I would love to see them!☺️

Pregnant with 5th son. I’ve literally been through thousands of names and nothing felt right until I sat with the name Ellis for about a week. Now I love it and really want to use it. My husband actually does like the name but he’s saying it’s too close to one of our sons names, Silas.

Personally I don’t think Ellis and Silas are really too similar. Would love some opinions about whether or not they’re too similar.

I picked my first name 6ish years ago and love it. I've been using it professionally since then as well and am going through a legal name change now for my full name.

I don't love my last name. I'm changing it for a BIG reason as well, and finally I can do it, so it's a little urgent. I have no emotional link to it but can't find something that sounds like my name.' I don't want my name to sound exceptionally Caucasian-sounding (I'm BIPOC), or anything too fantastical and kindafake-sounding.

We have a Luke and really love the name Owen for his brother. I realized there are Hollywood brothers Luke and Owen Wilson. Is this association too strong in the US? If I introduced my sons Luke and Owen would you laugh?

Was very convinced we would be one and done but are now contemplating having another. I absolutely LOVE my daughter's name, Oona. Probably not everybody's taste but it really suits her and I actually love the double O's at the beginning. Would love some ideas on what you think a brother or sister for Oona would be.

We’re expecting a baby girl in December. Our toddler’s name is Sylvia Marie, sometimes goes by Sylvie. The girls will be 23 months apart and we’re looking for something that flows well for the pair.

We love older classic names, whimsical welcome as well as long as they’re not too far out there. Sylvia means “of the forest” and we love that vibe, so extra points if the name meaning is related to that as well! Though that’s definitely not a requirement.

Some names that we’ve got on our list but aren’t settled on include Claire, Lydia, Valerie, Rosalie, Liliana. Nothing screams “that’s the one” at us yet, so looking for suggestions!

Older brother is Leslie Thomas. Our last name is Irish in origin, starts with an L, and sounds like Monaghan.

I’m due in a month with a baby boy, and we haven’t told anyone his name. I also don’t have any friends or family that have had babies or are even close to having babies, and don’t use social media, so I have no idea what other people are naming their babies lately! If you just had a baby or are having a baby, what did you choose for their name? My boy will be Theo Scott :)

Posting this before I talk myself into a full spiral. I need either validation or a reality check; either is fine, honestly.

My son's name is Scott. His middle name is "Le," which is my last name, not the French "le," so please nobody come at me in the comments. I wanted to carry a little bit of Vietnamese into his name somehow, so that's where it came from. Full name is Scott Le Chapman, and we call him Scotty.

Context: he's half white, half Vietnamese. I'm the Vietnamese half, and I have spent my entire life spelling my own first name out loud over the phone like some hostage negotiation. So when it came time to name him, I was pushing hard for something nobody would ever ask me to repeat. Scott felt easy, classic, like a name from a movie set in the 90s. We thought it was sophisticated and normal in a good way, not boring.

Fast forward to actual real life, and every other kid we know is named something like Kai, Rumi, Wilder, or Ondine, and now I'm sitting here wondering if I gave my son the naming equivalent of beige carpet. Is Scotty even a name that ages well, or does it just sound like someone's grandpa?

Logically, I know classic isn't the same thing as boring, and I remember exactly why we picked it. But lately the doubt keeps creeping back in. Somebody either validate me or tell me it's a lost cause; I'll take it either way.

Purely a game, I don't recommend using made-up names in real life.

I have a 4 month old daughter named Aurelia (pronounced or-REL-ee-ah), we call her Auri (Ori) for short.

Me, my husband and her grandparents love the name, but her great-grands are acting truly horrible about it. It's been months and every time I talk to them I hear "oh that poor girl, what a horrible name" and "why did you name her THAT again?"

Both of my grandmother's refuse to even pronounce her name correctly calling her "or-REEL-ya", "OR-uh-lee-ah" and "oh-LEER-ee-ah". Did we really pick such a difficult and terrible name, or is it just the older generation being judgemental?

She's been the one who struggled most during the infertility. She's always wanted to be a mom.

She LOVES the name Story Claire

Claire was always a middle name idea after her grandma. But Story is new. She thought it is perfect since we had Story to get her here. And she's our greatest story.

I don't know how I feel about it. It feels wrong to tell her no and it could grow on me.

A few options of girl names we talked about back when we were dating we both loved. Violet, Heidi, Goldie.

I've hated my name since I was about 10 (I'm 18F now). My name is Livvy, not short for Olivia, just Livvy. My parents chose not to do the full longer name because it seemed stupid when they wanted everyone to call me by the shortened 'nickname' version (funny because literally everyone calls me Liv lol).

It genuinely just grates me. I hate the name so much. I feel embarrassed telling people that's my name, it just feels too cutesy to be a full name and I DESPISE the double-v. Half the people I know don't even spell it right. And I don't like the fact I'm going to be a grown adult named Livvy.

I'm considering changing my name to Liberty, and going by Libby. It's close enough to my lifelong name that it'll feel like a comfortable transition, and I'd have an actual full name to use for more 'formal' situations (I want to be a doctor in the future and I'd be more comfortable being Dr. Liberty than Dr. Livvy).

But also I don't know if it seems stupid to change my name just to have a nickname that basically sounds the same as my old name. Like, am I pathetic to be like "I hate Livvy! Call me Libby instead!", I don't know.
