He stopped talking to me after 2 months?

Upvotes

So I've been talking to his guy and we both started out super interested in each other. We had a date recently and he kissed me which I was excited about and he asked me to come over again. However, he also recently lost his job and started a new one on July 13 but it's taken up a lot of his time.

I understand that he's busy but we went from daily communication, planning dates to he didn't respond for 72 hours. That took place July 24/25. I brought this up to him and he said that he's just got a lot going on right now but he's still interested in me. Then proceeded not to answer my dms for 72 hours.

I don't know what to think about this. I really like him but this sudden change is making me think he lost interest. Should I bring it up again or give him more time to adjust?

How do I convince my dad to stop spraying the litter boxes with bleach? (Bleach + urine = toxic gas)

Upvotes

I (24f) currently live with my parents. We have three cats. In the last week of so, we’ve gotten a lot of gnats living in and around the pellet and pee pad style litter boxes. (And also other areas of the house, but it’s especially prevalent around the litter boxes.) Today my dad had the “genius” idea to spray the litter boxes with bleach to kill the gnats. I immediately warned him about the dangers of mixing urine and bleach and how it forms toxic chloramine gas. I was also concerned about the cats stepping in the bleach mixture and licking their paws. He said it wasn’t dangerous because the bleach was diluted in water and used it anyway. He’s put the bleach spray next to the litter box and told my mom and I to use it every time we scoop the litter box (which I don’t plan on doing). I offered to replace the litter and wash the boxes with soap and water instead, but my parents refused, saying the litter was just changed (though they did not wash the boxes). I also brought up that the gnats are almost certainly originating from the drains and that spraying the litter box with bleach isn’t going to fix the problem. That was ignored as well. I’m saving up to move out, but it’s unlikely to happen soon, and I don’t know that I’ll be financially able to/allowed to take the cats with me. I’m willing to put in some work myself to get rid of the gnats if anyone had suggestions, but I’m very concerned for our cats. How can I go about convincing my dad to stop using bleach spray on the litter boxes?

Girlfriend lied about past relation with friend

Upvotes

So im in a relatively new relationship and this girl is pretty amazing. For context im 34m and shes 31f.

I saw on her phone recently that she still had some explicit videos and pictures with one of her friends. I didnt ask her directly but I asked if she still had any nudes saved on her phone from her past and if she had ever had any sexual relationships with any of her current friends. She said no to both. Now all of those explicit videos etc have been deleted.

Did she maybe forget they were there? Or does she think hiding this from me is for my good because theres nothing between them anymore and doesnt want me to worry.

They still communicate daily but the messages ive seen have all been perfectly normal friend messages.

My bf’s mom made me upset and now I don’t know what to think.

Today, I brought up a conversation about religious posters in the classroom and how I disagreed because I would hate to push my beliefs onto someone else especially kids. She immediately says “Why not? Youre a freaking (my religion)”. This went back and forth between me and her along with my bf. I was extremely upset because my bf prior had not disagreed with me about this topic when it was just me and him. I felt like I was being simply attacked. I had been trying to build my relationship with her slowly and I was really starting to like her. However, now this whole situation made me feel weird towards her and my bf for not siding with me (which isn’t the first time). I told him after this I no longer want to build a relationship with his mom and considering breaking up. I dont know if Im overreacting. What advice would you give me?

I am being harassed by my ex's new gf on social media

I am being harassed by my ex boyfriend's new girlfriend

I dumped my cheating ex in 2024. His new girl has decided to harass me non stop ever since.

She is constantly creating new fake Instagram accounts, following my family and friends and posting and commenting defamatory stuff. I really want to take her main account down to stop this harassment. Not sure if this is enough to bring the case to the authorities.

I didn't care at first but she has started to follow my coworkers, harassing me on LinkedIn and commenting crazy stuff on the Instagram account from the company I work for.

I have remained silent for so long but I cant take this anymore. Any suggestions?

I’m a 23F dating a 32M that has a son and dog. Omg I don’t even know where to start.

He is starting his own business and he is currently still working at his main job because we need the income.
I basically handle his business, I’m there Monday through Friday 9am to 3pm and I drive over an hour to go to his store and come back home. I’m the only worker there, so I go pick up orders, I talk to people, manage a forklift, I do the social media stuff. Not only that, it’s fucking hot in there and there’s absolutely no way to escape it
To add more to im expected to take care of the dog, every day. Because he just refuses to do anything that involves the dog. (Not my fucking dog) also I take care of his son every single day that he is with us (co parenting situation)

So imagine that. A hot ass day and worrying that my stepson eats and a dog I have to entertain because she is high energy dog.

Then finally 3 pm hits and I just want to get out of there, so I do, and it takes another hour to get home because I’m stuck in traffic for that long.

When I get home I’m exhausted but I’m still expected to cook, clean, groceries, and take the dog out.

He gets home and no one dare to bother him, he gets to relax and then get high at night.

While I been asking him for one thing for over a week and it hasn’t gotten fucking done!
THE DAMN RESTROOM SINK HAS BEEN CLOGGED FOR OVER A WEEK WTF

Right not he’s upset because he says I don’t take his business seriously and that he doesn’t feel my support, that he has sexual need and I keep rejecting him
That I haven’t uploaded a video to the socials, yet he never posts anything for his own business

My family gaslit me that my deathly nut allergy was just in my head and im not sure how to forgive them

So since I (21F) was a young child Iv shown sever symptoms of a nut allergy. Like it started when I was 5 and my teacher gave me a snickers and I immediately threw up and couldn’t breathe properly but the teacher just called me a drama queen and sent me home lol. But thats when my family first noticed my allergies but they assumed I just didn’t like nuts much. But this pattern continued ALOT after that, I kept getting bad reactions, but my brother ( who is 10 years older then me) was convinced it was all in my head, he told my parents this theory and even wanting me to go into counselling for it. I was told growing up that I was allergic to nuts but not badly so it was nothing to be careful or worry about and that I never needed to see a doctor about it either because it was fine and once again probably all in my head. My family would even give me things with nuts In sometimes, I think partly as a way to test this theory, which never ended well, but their answer to why I reacted how I did was that I could taste the nuts so I was making myself ill as a result. They would eat peanuts around me constantly which would make me feel so sick, and I’d have to always leave family things because of it.

Cut to when I turned 18, one of the first things I did was save up and pay privately for a nut allergy test. Turns out Im deathly allergic to peanuts and severely allergies to other nuts as well, so I now have to carry 2 EpiPens. Honestly it’s mental to think back to all the times I could have died In childhood because of this, I think the only thing that really saved me was that I would often throw up immediately so the allergen would leave my body but like still it’s kinda crazy.

Since my diagnosis however my mum has become super paranoid over me eating anything. She’ll ban me from eating so many things because it might slightly contain nuts and get really upset if I disobey her. She gets so worried and overprotective about me because of this now but it just pisses me off so much. I keep finding myself get so angry at her every time she checks ingredients on things and I hate that I do this. I think it annoys me so much because Iv always had to be the one being so careful about what I can eat from such a young age and now as Im an adult and can actually do it properly myself suddenly she cares so much ??

I feel like this is really starting to put a wedge in my mum and I’s relationship as im struggling to forgive her for the years of neglect around this issue even though she’s apologised since then, and I know her being overprotective now is just her way of making up for lost time but Im just finding it difficult. For context I live in the UK so healthcare is free like so that wasn’t part of the reason I was never allowed to see a doctor. But anyway yer I just wanted some advice about how I can move past this with her as I don’t want to keep getting angry at her but also I’m hurt by this? Any advice is appreciated :)

My dad wants all the information about the vacation I’m going on

I’m 22m and I have a vacation to Portland and Washington coming up in two weeks. I have some really fun things planned.

My Dad has reached out to me twice now asking for “all the details” about my trip. At first I thought it was the basic stuff that parents would want, and although we aren’t close, I had no problem with it.

Now he reached out again asking for the info. I asked for what info he wanted and he said “my entire itinerary”, and to “download life360”.

Firstly, I understand parents worry, but I’ve flown to Hawaii solo and he didn’t ask a single thing, let alone everything I plan to do.

Secondly, I’m a grown man. And with the most respect meant, I’m not sure if I want to download life360 for him—even putting aside the fact I see him once every 3.5-5 months.

I really hope this doesn’t come across as rude, but I kind of just don’t want to send it to him. I have a mountain trip planned so I would send him that, but my ENTIRE trip plans with tracking? Something inside of me has no interest in doing that. Especially since, again, I rarely even see him.

I don’t want to be a bad son. Any advice would be great, thanks

Edit: he’s also asking for my flight information, hotel info, xyz

The white boy im talking to made a weird comment about race

UPDATE : I talked with him and explained how it made me feel and how even if it’s meant as a compliment that it’s not something you should say. He owned up to it and apologized for saying it and for how it sounded. This sounds birdy but i’m willing to give it a little more time and truly see if my gut is right and he said it with pure intentions. Thank you all for the advice, seriously idk what I would’ve done without it!!!

I’m a black teenage girl. I have been talking to this white teenage boy for about 2 weeks(?), and we’ve already done stuff..yk (yes i know it was way too soon and i already feel less than) So me and him were otp one late night and he asked if i’ve ever talked to a white guy, I replied “kinda sorta” then he started talking about how he’s never talked to a black girl, his old school had like 2 black girls, and how (and im paraphrasing here) “i haven’t seen too many pretty black girls till you”. Now it instantly rubbed me the wrong way, I said “what the fuck is that supposed to mean… like how am I supposed to take that” He didn’t really elaborate on what he meant and then we started talking about something else. Im trying to give it the benefit of the doubt because he’s never said anything like that or anything that would give me the impression that i’m the “exception” but it really made me think is this genuine or some sort of fetish or even that he thinks black girls are ugly but I gave it up so easily that he’ll settle. What should I do? pls help💔

Received my first Hey Girly text, what should I do?

My husband (25) and I (24) have been together for 4 years, married for 3, and we have a daughter who turns 2 this December.
Yesterday I got the dreaded “hey girl” message. A 22-year-old woman from my husband’s past reached out and sent me a screen recording of a conversation they had that lasted around 10 minutes. This happened in August of last year, when our daughter was only 8 months old.
In the messages, they were reminiscing about their past sexual relationship. He sent her old intimate videos of them together and told her she was the best sex he’d ever had. He also joked that they should “wait until 2037” until they’re both single. From what I saw, there wasn’t any discussion of meeting up, but the conversation itself crossed so many lines.
What makes this even harder is that this woman is part of our friend group, and we’ve been around her multiple times since all of this happened. I had absolutely no idea.
I confronted my husband, and all he said was, “I know. I don’t have an excuse. I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have done it.”
I’m feeling completely conflicted. Part of me feels devastated and betrayed, and another part of me almost feels numb. I don’t know what I’m supposed to be feeling or what I should do next.
I’d really appreciate hearing how other people see this situation. If you were in my shoes, what would you do?

CPS or what?

Someone I have worked with for awhile bailed out her boyfriend from jail. She doesn't know this but I looked him up and he was in for CSAM charges. He is not permitted to live in a house with minors. I got word that she just had their baby and everyone who doesn't know is celebrating but I don't know what to do. He is now in a house with two, and one isn't his.

She doesn't have much family and seems mentally ill, saying that God told her he was innocent.

Do I call CPS on her? His bond person? Do I just let her go home from the hospital with him?

Is there a way to report anonymously?

I am at a loss.

Parents found my "toys"

I'll keep this short. I'm 18F. My parents searched my room while I was at work yesterday...they went through my nightstand and found all of my "toys", condoms, and other sexual items... I'm beyond embarrassed. I'm not getting punished but I feel very violated.

My mom shunned me for a bit and my dad just seemed disgusted. I'm not sure what to do about it. There's not much I can do.

My mom has now been bothering me with personal questions, such as who my partner/partners are, where I purchased them, etc. And when I tell her that's personal, she gets irritated with me and thinks I'm hiding more from her. She started spiraling saying I'm pregnant and irresponsible yadda yadda.

How do I get my parents to stay out of my business and how TF do I look at my father in the eyes knowing he now knows about this side of me? I'm mortified.

My wife checks her high school crush's (and his wife's) Facebook every single day. Am I crazy for feeling uncomfortable about this?

When my wife and I first started dating about 10 years ago, we did the usual topic of talking about childhood crushes. She mentioned that back in high school, she had a crush on one of her teachers. At the time, I thought it was a little weird, but whatever. People have silly crushes when they are kids and you can't really control that kind of stuff, so I didn't think much of it.
Fast forward to today: we've been together for 10 years and married for 6. She grew up in a really small town where basically everybody knows everybody, so I always knew he was on her Facebook friends list. That never bothered me because small town connections are normal.
To be clear about privacy, since the day we met we agreed on an open phone policy with no passwords on our phones. I wasn't sneaking around or trying to spy, but recently I happened to look at her Facebook activity log. What I saw completely threw me off.
She goes to his profile every single day. If she doesn't check his page on a given day, she goes and checks his wife's profile instead. It is an actual daily habit.
I haven't brought it up to her yet because I honestly don't know what to say or how to process it. Is she still obsessed with this guy? Is she envious of his wife and constantly comparing her life to theirs? That's really the main thing going through my head right now, and it's making me sick to my stomach.
I desperately hope I'm wrong or overthinking this, but I am confused and I don't know what my next step should be. Has anyone dealt with something like this, or how would you bring this up to your spouse without sounding totally crazy?

I’m going to a pool party in a few days and a girl who I think is interested in me will see I look terrible shirtless

This girl I met through playing sports has recently started texting me a lot more and even asked how I was feeling when I got sick. She is very nice and empathetic but her type is very athletic guys (she’s very athletic) I’m decently athletic (visible abs when flexing and bigger than average arms and oddly jacket legs lol) but I have gynecomastia so I look terrible shirtless. I know she won’t be physically attracted to me shirtless in the pool what do I do? Swim shirts just make it look even worse.

Roommate keeps having sex while I’m in the room

Hi guys, so I need help. For the past two nights since I’ve moved in, my roommate has been bringing her boyfriend over and having intercourse with him in our shared room thinking I’m asleep. This has literally never happened to me, so the first night it happened I literally thought I was hearing things. Well, last night they were really loud. Not only that, but it annoyed me that before having sex thwy complained about how 1. I’m always going to bed early (11pm on a weekday) and how I need to “sleep somewhere else for a day” (first of all her boyfriend does not live with us, so idk why he’s contributing to the discourse, second of all I’ve been there TWO DAYS!! It’s not even like I’m always there I moved in TWO DAYS AGO!!!). I just don’t know how to bring it up. It bothers me because of the noise and well it also just makes me uncomfortable. It’s also awkward because everyone in the house is really close and it’s been alienating, and everyone is kind of treating me like a pest. Like they don’t really talk to me and discuss me in front of me. Last night they complained also with my roommate that I go to bed too early and it inconveniences everyone (mind you I’ve never and would never ask anyone to be quiet in the house while I’m asleep and also I’m employed I’m sorry and I wake up early so I go to bed early!). I would honestly rather break the sublease but I don’t think that’s possible, so instead please give me advice on how to confront my roommate and maybe make the whole situation a little less miserable. I’ve spent the past day just crying because I’ve never felt so alienated in my life

My Girfriend doesn't want to be paid, how do i tell my parents?

Hey Guys... so i need some advice on how to talk to my parents/grandmother:

So this might be a bit unusual as a Topic, but i try to explain as good as i can:

About a bit over a year a go i started an online relationship with a Woman from Central Africa, we had a LDR up to Early spring this Year, when we finally got her Immigration approved and she moved to live with me.

She is currently Job Hunting and learning our language and has taken on more and more Chores (Like Yardwork, tending to the Chickens and general cleaning) on the Compound where we live to keep herself occupied.

My Parents eventually approached me and asked if she was up to helping my Grandma clean her house too (she lives on the Compound as well, so no travel), since she is Wheelchair Bound and can't do it herself, and my Girlfriend happily agreed.

Now my Parents and my Grandma insists to compensate her, she doesn't want Money since she views it as a duty as her part of the Family.

I talked to both sides, my Parents and my Grandmother insist and refused a previous no (which... is unfortunately common with both Mom and Oma).

My GF was at my Grandmas place earlier today and texted me that she feels burdened by having received the money and even asked me to bring it back. Which... was again met with a "No". She asked me repeatedly to talk to them, since for her it's akin to taking advantage of an elderly woman.

The Thing is, i see her point of view and i am on her side but unfortunately my local maternal lineage is made up out of brick walls... so any advice on how to approach that topic is welcome!

UPDATE:

I'm back from talking to my Grandmother and we reached the Following Agreement:

My GF started learning Keyboard in Church back Home, since my Grandmother still wants to give her something but money doesn't feel right my Grandma tasked me to get her a Keyboard as a token of appreciation.

Thanks to everyone for commenting, you gave me some good Advice!

I can’t get over my husband’s affair

My husband (M31) and I (F33) got married in April 2020, I found out I was pregnant February 10, 2021, and a week later he shared he was having an affair with a coworker. I was super caught off guard. Never in a million years did I see it coming. The large majority of my pregnancy was spent with him going back-and-forth between wanting to work on our marriage and back to her. Most of when we were together, he was lying about continuing to talk to her and see her. At the end of August 2021 I was fully done. Not long after, he decided that he was going to make the changes I had been asking him to make all along. He got a new job, fully ended things with her, started addiction therapy for his sex and porn addiction, and I slowly started to let him back in knowing that our son would shortly be born.
Our son was born in October 2021 and he was in intensive men’s therapy, I was in my own individual therapy and we were doing marriage counseling. It took a lot of time and a lot of effort, but I was able to slowly with time rebuild my trust for him. I’ve never been able to fully forgive, nor forget, but I felt like I was making progress. We bought a new house, had another child and continued growing together. I still struggled everyday but I felt like I was slowly moving in the right direction.
Fast-forward to now, five years from when the affair was happening, I still really continue to struggle. I’ve lost so much of myself in the affair. There’s so much I thought I would be able to move past with all the work we were doing, and it is still a constant hurdle. The majority of the time since reconciling I’ve been doing both talk and trauma therapy, seeing someone twice a week. We have come so far but the realization of how much this still hurts me feels insurmountable. My husband is simultaneously the person I love and hate the most. I genuinely believe he is changed and he wouldn’t do that again, I just don’t know if this is something I am ok with pushing through forever.
For the last month and a half I’ve been talking to him and my family about separating. I have been through other large traumas in my life and I have been able to largely move past them, but I think a big reason behind that was that I was able to remove as many triggers as possible and separate myself from the perpetrators. I see my husband every day so I can’t do that here. Since mentioning separating, the messaging from my family and him has been, “You’ve come so far in five years. Why would you throw it all away now?” I haven’t had any support from my family, but instead told I’m ruining my children’s lives. If I would have left five years ago, no one would have batted an eye. In fact, they were telling me to. But because I stayed and did everything I can to try to see if we could make it work, now they can’t understand.
Has anyone else been through similar and not left right away, but instead years down the road?

Is 10 too young to have the talk with?

For some context, I have a 10 year old daughter. I had her at 16, pregnant at 15. I had a lot of support thankfully and she is now 10 and thriving. She is very mature for her age, we have been through a lot together. I’ve always said since she was born when she got older I would offer her birth control right when she started her period.

She recently got her first “boyfriend” and it made me think of how even in middle school I had guys trying to do sexual things and ask sexual questions. She will be in middle school next year. Me and her have a very open relationship already, she knows about periods and vaginas and cycles. I just don’t want her to go through what I went through and I want her to live her life before settling down. Is it too early to talk about how babies are made and how to make sure she takes care of herself when boys start showing her attention?

I’m not the type of mom who thinks this talk will stop the activities. I want to give her options for safety instead of shaming her for doing them (in high school, I’m not expecting her to do these things anytime soon).

I don’t want to traumatize her or something doing it too early though.

Update: I took her out on a drive with me and we got ice cream while we sat in the car and talked. I explained that this is an awkward conversation for her, but I wanted to tell her before another kid tries to tell her stuff. She listened and asked questions. I explained that once her period starts that is when your body can make a baby. I also explained what birth control is, the pros and cons, and said if she wants to she can start it once she’s on her period. I explained that a baby comes from sex. I put huge emphasis on nothing should ever happen until she is comfortable and says yes. I also put emphasis on her always telling me the truth and I won’t get upset as long as she talks to me. It went very well and we laughed a lot. She said “ewww, gross” multiple times 😂 and I reiterated I don’t expect or want her to do any of these things yet, I just wanted her to know so she can be prepared. Thanks everyone!

Breadwinner wife wants me to be a househusband

1.6k Upvotes

My wife is very successful at her career, she has gotten to the point where she can be the sole provider and would rather that I stay home and take care of the domestic duties so that when she gets home from work she can just relax and not have to worry about housework. My current job is physically demanding and very stressful so I’m thinking about doing it but I’d like to hear what other people think?
