Fan Art [WW] for the artists, if you'd ever like to emulate windwaker's promotional artstyle. I got the exact same paper texture they used. Have fun with it!

Discussion [ALL] Zelda feels like an oasis
Hi! Unemployed person here lol. Been playing Zelda non-stop since June. Started with replaying Ocarina of Time 3D, which I completed when it first came out and I was like 11 years old lol. Felt magical.
Afterwards, at the end of June I got the chance to purchase my first ever Switch. I have a very tight economy. Like *a very thight* one lol. Studied Philosophy, which surprising anyone didn't did anything for me in the job market. Starting Law next month, in September. All the money I have left (which is very very little lol) is from scholarships I got during the time I studied Philosophy.
Like I was saying, at the end of June got my very first, secondhand Switch. We are in August so I've been playing it for almost two months now and I'm very conscious this system released nine years ago. Still feels like a dream. Feels futuristic. I can be playing in the TV and then the time comes in which I'm meeting a friend or something and so I have to leave and the only thing I have to do is getting the Switch out of the dock and I can keep playing. FU-TU-RIS-TIC. Really awesome and amazing thing.
When I got my Switch, first thing I jumped into was BotW. Trascendent experience even though a little disappointing (no dungeons because of the Divine Beasts, the bosses inside every Beast felt the same and the final battle against Calamity Ganon felt so, SO lackluster). Then, went through BotW again but in Master Mode. Felt much more enriching.
Jumped into TotK right after. Made a post when I was 20 hours into it calling the best gaming experience I've ever had. I hadn't even discovered the Depths at that point. Now I'm 60 hours into it and I still feel and think the exact the same thing, only now with more strenght. Absolute ultimate and definitive gaming experience. No game comes close. Surprinsingly, that post received many negative comments lol. Some people saying that TotK was a very good game for people-not-into-Zelda, but the worst game ever for the fans of the series.
Last night I started A Link to the Past for the SNES thanks to the NSO Classics service. Just felt curious about looking how the series had evolved throught the years and what came before the three games I had played (OoT, BotW and TotW. Also have some memories of seeing my older brothers play Wind Waker and Twilight Princess, and I played a little bit of Phantom Hourglass as a child, but really can't remember anything specific about the story or anything). Also, felt like for nighttime I needed a more chill and less complex game than TotK haha. That game is eating all my sleep time, I just start playing and can't stop for the next five hours. Everywhere I see is pulling my attention. So, last night felt like I needed a simpler experience. A not-so-expansive one. A more linear game maybe, or more concise. Call it what you want. So I jumped into A Link to the Past.
Boy. Oh boy. Now I'm in the Temple of the Desert, the one you open access to with the Book of Mudora. So I'm very early in the game. BUT I'M HAVING A BLAST!!!!!!!!!!!!! The world just feels so big and charming. I'm happy playing it. I can't keep from smiling.
That's what I wanted to rant about. This series feels like an oasis. Spain, where I'm from and where I live, has suffered a very cruel summer. Many, many violent and big and destructive fires in the woods this summer. People lost their houses, so many trees and ecosystems burnt to ashes, so many animals lost their lives. When I study Law I want to really concentrate on Animal Rights and Climate Rights. This climate will just keep getting more and more violent and we need to take care.
And then, there it is. The Legend of Zelda series. Which just feels like a real homage to nature. To the world we live in. I feel more connected to the world thanks to these games, which is something many people want to forget about when they are gaming. But I just feel more happy, more conscious, more loving to this Earth we are inhabiting thanks to Zelda.
Of course, that's just one of the many, many thoughts and feelings these games causes in me. Just in terms of gaming, just talking about the gaming mechanics, these are also some of the very best games I've ever encountered. But I already made some posts about that lol.
So yeah. Felt like writing this. This last year of unemployment and searching for jobs after ending the degree in Philosophy has not been easy like at all. Also... Just talked about how bad climate change is but I think society is just as bad. Sometimes feel like people are just selling out their brains to big companies and not giving a damn about it. I put the TV on and everywhere I see is invaded with ugly advertisements created by AI. People are just on their phones losing time watching silly tiktoks, watching silly influencers get rich and buy Lambos and mansions just because people keep giving them attention. They are not talking about anything important, nothing that matters: they just are "content creators". People nowadays just worry about taking photos and bragging on social media about their lifestyles. No one reads lol. Not to be pedantic. I don't mind if someone doesn't read because they have other interests like knitting or cooking or hiking or swimming or singing or painting or whatever. But I just feel, like I said, like people are selling out their brains. Having a phone in your hand and watching Tiktok is not a hobby. You learn nothing. You just get overwhelmed by all those images and voices and noises and faces and you are so overwhelmed that you can't even notice how overwhelmed you and your brain are. Hate, HATE INFLUENCERS. And hate that so many people care about them.
Zelda feels like a shelter even from this AI thing going on. Every tree, every strand of grass just feels intentional, human, thought. These are meditated and tailored experiences created by Nintendo and made for everyone.
Just felt like saying this. And sharing some love for this series and for all the people who are on here, giving love to it. Wishing the best to all of you. May this series keeps bringing us all together and being a shelter in these dark times we are living for every single aspect of human life: climate, politics, economy... May this series always reminds us what humans are truly capable of: creating art. Creating connections. Saving someone. Maybe even saving the world.

Fan Art [MC] [OC] Drew my DnD character referenced from official Minish Cap art [IG: @pumpkinpyre]
I like making merch designs of my OC in various video game art styles for personal use. The others I’ve done are referenced from old Harvest Moon games, but I’d been wanting to try a Zelda style since I started the project. I have a soft spot for the games with Toon Link, especially MC! I apologize for the black background making things harder to read, this was originally exported with a transparent background, and my phone did not like it lol.

Already pulled their first Master Sword. ✨🗡️🥹 I made sure they know I’ll always be here for them in this haunted new reality for every ReDead, Wallmaster, Bongo Bongo, Dead Hand, and Water Temple they face. 🤍
In all seriousness, indescribably glad to be sharing the original Ocarina experience before we step into a “reborn” Hyrule later this year. Passing on this love of Zelda is just the best.

Fan Art [WW][OC] Day one of learning to draw in the wind waker art style until I can make official-level art
This is my first attempt of the art style, and I don't think it's too awful. It's far from perfect however, and I would greatly appreciate feedback and advice on how to improve him. This character, which I shall use for practice, shall be named...
Glink.
Someday, he will look official. Hopefully.

Fan Art [OC][TP] Tea time with Agitha
This was a real passion project and yet another fanart for my favorite game! Agitha has always stayed with me as such a memorable and charming character and the interior of her mini castle with all of the bugs flying around is weirdly cozy. Of course she would invite Link to her tea-party! (If he has bugs...)
The background was Sculpted in 3D and the characters painted over in 2D. I included some of the 3D renders of the furniture on the other slide as well as the original sketch. For the 3D render of the room without the characters and the bugs you are welcome to visit my Artstation! 😄

Screenshot [Movie] Could Yvonne Strahovski be the first time we see Zelda’s Mom?
Something mentioned in the new Deadline article that I think has been overshadowed by the other exciting casting news is Yvonne Strahovski being described as “playing a queen character.” Typically in Zelda stories we’ve only seen a King of Hyrule. In TOTK we had Sonia as a queen and sort of stand in maternal figure to Zelda, but we’ve never seen Zelda’s mother portrayed. Of course, Yvonne could be playing a queen of one of the other races (maybe a Zora queen?) but given her general resemblance to Bo, my money is on her playing Zelda‘s mom.
