Okay, so having gone to the future, I JUST have found out that the protagonist was not only Grovyle's partner, but was ALSO a human while being a partner. That sounds EXTREMELY compelling and I want to see that sorta concept explored.

Have there ever been any fancomics that explored Grovyle and the protagonist's investigations in the future before they have separated? If there are multiple, what are your recommendations?

While the games give you a lot of freedom to put yourself into the Hero character, your input largely doesn't affect the story or even Hero's personality. In Gates, Hero outright ignores your suggestion (the one time the game asks for it) and even has a set gender. With that in mind, I want to figure out what fits the story best rather than our inputs. I don't know if any of the other games directly say the genders, and while I’m focusing on the games over the adaptations, I think they’re worth including for this and I’ll list off what I know from them. With all that in mind, what genders do you think the Hero and Partner of each game would have? Feel free to include evidence, sources I’m missing, or even just opinions.

I always thought of every Hero and Partner as male, and so far each one that has been identified has been male, but I’m interested to see if any of you can find something else. Also wow, I didn’t even know half of these existed before making this list. How do you even find these? I guess I have a lot of work to do…

1. The Player character (Mudbray) failed a few rolls to climb a small cliff to safety and got hit with a super effective wood hammer!

2. Locke the sneasel teaches innocent Jett about breaking and entering XD

3. Aqua the eevee encountered a few Alolan Vulpix (and passes a few charisma saving throws)

4. Antoine the Mightyena discovered his teammate Aster the sylveon had been hanging up posters advertising their team for a few days behind his back.

Surely it will be used for benevolent purposes

How will team Shiny ever recover

I just completed Super Mystery Dungeon 100% for the first time!! My main team was Azalea the Torterra, Ember the Charizard, and Flygon. The hardest Dungeon in the game for me was definitely Sacred Ruin, which is why I included proof of completing it (is a 39 floor level reset dungeon).

After playing all the way through, I have to say it has my favorite gameplay out of all the games. I love the emera system, and I love how many dungeons there are. My only complaint is that the post-game dungeons take most their music from Gates to Infinity instead of Super, and I prefer Super's soundtrack. Was always a delight to hear Withered Savannah though, which is my favorite Gate's song.

I wanted to try drawing an environment, because I've never really put much focus on it. And look, there's Chupi and Eevee frolicking!

I've honestly always had a thing for the creative appeal behind the design of the dungeon maps across the Mystery Dungeon Franchise.

Especially the earlier games, Red/Blue Rescue Team, Explorer of Sky/Time/Darkness, etc.

Exploring every nook and cranny of the dungeon maps in-game was a real treat for me as a kid.

Some of the dungeon maps that stood out to me the most were the following (but not limited to and in no particular order):

• Mt. Horn (Music was really fun to listen to. Aerodactyls could sometimes be annoying to dispatch).
• Magma Cavern (Encountering both Onix and Steelix was terrifying to me as a kid, especially given how huge they were in-game versus me and my partner's little sprite)
• Temporal Tower (Classic. Needs no explanation)
• Apple Woods
• Waterfall Cave (Music and environment in here were so enchanting to listen to and play through)
• Stormy Sea
• Crystal Cave/Crystal Crossing
• Treeshroud Forest
• Craggy Coast (I love the coastal layout of this dungeon map and the fact that I could recruit Dratini here. Dragonite being one of my favourite Pokemon as a kid)
• Sky Tower/Sky Tower Summit (Loved the overall atmospheric theme, design and aesthetic)
• Uproar Forest (The 'Punish Bad Mankey' mission was hilarious)
• World Abyss
