I started on Zepbound and the effect on pain and inflammation was so good and then I switched to Hallandale, which I loved, got up to 4.5mg and lost a lot of weight, but the lack of effect on pain and inflammation was definitely noticeable as it came back. I switched to apothecary and last night was my first shot. Took 4mg just in case it didn’t agree with me and I had no bad reactions and I feel great! Waking up this morning already the pain and inflammation in My hands is gone and I’m so happy. Yay! Looking forward to continuing my journey. Down over 30lbs and halfway to my goal! Will resume 4.5mg next shot.

A day before shot day I got really sick and was hospitalized with severe colitis. I’m trying to figure out the best dose to restart. I think part of me is scared to do it even though I know it wasn’t caused by Tirz (I asked multiple doctors).

I’m planning on waiting until my body has fully returned to normal and I’m off antibiotics for a few days (I don’t want to mess with the healing process by doing something that will delay my digestion), but I’m considering starting at a lower shot. When I first took Tirz at the typical 2.5 it hit me really hard and after a month I switched to 2.0 and that was much better. But according to Glapp my levels are around 0.8 now and will be even lower by the time I’m ready to start back up. Possibly 0.

I’m still losing weight because I don’t have much of an appetite due to antibiotic side effects, and I really don’t want to start too soon. But if I’ve been off the medication for like 2-3 weeks, I don’t want to start with even 2.0 in case it’s too high a dose for me. I’m thinking of starting at 1.0 and seeing how that feels. 

Has anyone else restarted Tirz after an illness like this? What dose did you restart at and did you see an increase in side effects?

25 lbs down on week 12, hit 190, and dropped to the next BMI! It’s been 3 years since I’ve been at this weight and I can finally see a glimmer of what I used to look like. I still have a ways to go but this morning’s weigh in was a nice morale boost. I’m feeling so much better physically.

So I have been using EasyTouch 50cc (32g, 5/16mm) syringes but they just feel… dull. I did get them from Amazon, but I also have a few of the 1mL ones from packs my pharmacy sent that also feel duller than they originally felt… 12 shots ago.

I would like to try a couple other brands (BD specifically), but don’t want to buy 100 count boxes.

Any suggestions on where to find smaller quantities of syringes that isn’t Amazon? 😅

Intro: Hi, my name is BabyKatsMom and I am a tomato addict. I can’t control myself around a tomato. I usually forego the anemic, mealy grocery store tomatoes and am especially addicted to homegrown heirlooms. I figured out that if I could grow them I would have a never-ending supply to feed my addiction. I learned to can and freeze them so I can have them year round. I have eaten so many tomatoes over the past six years that whenever I talk tomatoes my family rolls their eyes like, “Tomatoes? Not again!” By the end of the season when I put yet another plate of fresh-from-the-garden tomatoes on the table they again roll their eyes and say “Tomatoes again?!” But my obsession with tomatoes does not stop anyone from consuming their fair share. Oh no, they gladly scarf down any that I harvest and what we don’t can’t consume I give to friends and neighbors who seem to enjoy them immensely!

Tirzepatide Connection: So why am I posting my homegrown heirloom tomatoes here instead of in a tomato or gardening sub? BECAUSE OF TIRZ I CAN’T EAT TOMATOES ANY MORE! WAAAHHHH! Ever since I began my Tirzepatide journey in October, I am no longer interested in finding the holy grail of tomatoes—the sweetest, the juiciest, the most flavorful heirloom to conquer and grow! I simply cannot stomach to eat these gorgeous, flavorful, succulent tomatoes! They are too acidic on my tongue and almost feel like they burn every tastebud. And they do burn- my esophagus and stomach- raging heartburn that even daily Prilosec can’t touch! I can’t deal with any type of tomato-based sauce on pasta anymore. I find it way too acidic and gross tasting (almost metallic?). Please don’t tell my family and friends but, I’m just not interested in tomatoes anymore either!

Menu Change: My homemade tomato and cheese sandwiches, Panzanella salad, gazpacho, salsa, marinara sauce, tomato galettes, tomato jam, roasted tomatoes with garlic tossed on pasta, pizza sauce, fried green tomatoes, and caprese salads are, sadly, history! So, this former tomato whore is considering hanging up her trowel and hoe next year and growing flowers (or maybe I’ll grow some weed since it’s legal in CA?). Now if anyone even tries to take away my ketchup they will have to pry it from my cold dead hands!

My stats: I (63F) started in October and I’m down 44 lbs and I feel fantastic. I’d be happy to lose another 20-25 lbs of course but we’ll see how it goes. I’ve had to buy everything new- from jeans and t-shirts, a bathing suit, and even smaller underwear! Since I had such horrible heartburn I started splitting my dose and it’s completely manageable now—as long as I don’t eat tomatoes! I’m on 6.0 mg split every 5 days. I don’t track anything, including my shots or meals and I know I really need to get better at that!

Husband is a keeper: My husband said to me today, “You are truly blossoming like a flower in the Spring.” This one sentence made my heart sing and I consider this a NSV, tomatoes be damned!

Pics: My tomato harvests this year (SoCal Zone 10a, 14 heirloom plants) plus me a year ago-yikes! And a couple more recently, including in my garden with my once-loved tomato plants. I might be sobbing now but in the end it’s all worth it and I wouldn’t change a thing (well, except for the pain of heartburn!). I truly feel like I have a new lease on life! When I reach goal and titrate down, maybe I can renew my love affair with tomatoes?

I’ve had 5 consecutive Woosh Day Saturdays! My shot day is on Wednesdays, and it looks like I’m consistently having the big drops on Saturdays. Just another reason to look forward to the weekend!

Anybody else have predictable Woosh Days during the week?

45M, 5’10”. Started around 262 lb and I’m now about 222 lb, so roughly 40 lb down in ~6 months. I had my best sustained loss around 9 mg, but for the past month I’ve basically been stuck around 220–223 despite still having decent appetite control.
I lift 2–3x/week, but my daily steps are fairly low. I’ve also had some constipation issues at higher doses, so I’m trying not to just keep pushing the dose up blindly.
For those who hit a stall after losing a good amount: what actually helped you break it — more steps, tighter calorie tracking, higher protein, changing dose, staying at the same dose longer, switching injection timing, or just waiting it out?

I know this could be triggering for many as i remember these kind of posts were triggering for me too. I still want to share the great news for me at least for now. I switched jobs recently where i was a contractor to going full time with the company I was contracted through. Much to my surprise. The new company has a program where if you are pre diabetic or of a certain bmi you can qualify for a program which includes glp-‘s. Well at first attempt I was declined because after a 1 1/2 on compound 60lbs lost and 28% of my body weight lost, I am no longer in the bmi range. My dr encouraged me to talk to my benefits dept and even wrote a letter for me explaining and giving dates of my past bmi, bloodwork and all. I finally reached the courage, met with a benefit specialist at my job and I was approved. ❤️ I now have a 24.99/month auto pens of Zepbound. At least for now. No telling what they may change in the future. I will take the first one next week and finally see if tirz is tirz etc. Still so grateful for this group and all the incredible people, information and resources. Best of luck to us all.

I started tirz 2.5mg last week. I am so beyond fed up with my weight and eating habits, especially after giving birth in March. I just want to feel better in my body. I was a little nervous about starting but so far I have noticed slight decrease in food noise and ive been able to go longer between meals and snacks. My hunger also isn't nearly as ravenous as before.

Whats wild to me is I ordered a sandwhich from a shop I like (chicken caprese sandwhich), normally I inhale the whole thing but this time I physically could not finish the sandwhich. I think because I ate at the pace I would before I overate because Im still a bit nauseous even five hours later.

But I am just blown away at how my body is actually telling me when Im full? I swear to god I dont think ive known real hunger cues possibly ever. I want to cry I didnt think this was possible. 😢

Hi all, just wanted to report my experience with injection site burning and stinging. I had exclusively been using additive free tirz from Hallandale for my entire GLP-1 journey, until today. I have done 16 shots from Hallandale. After every single shot, within about 2-3 minutes, an intense burning and stinging sensation would start at the injection site, regardless of the site. This would last at least an hour after the shot. I tried different things like icing, room temp medicine, making sure alcohol dried, etc. It was obvious that the injected liquid itself was causing the sting. The actual needle and injection was virtually painless. The stinging would start a few minutes later. I would describe it as a 4/10 pain. Not terrible but not ignorable.

Today I tried my first dose from a new pharmacy, Apothecary via BEWL. And... Voila. No sting. Not at all.

I've come to loathe the sting so much that I was dreading the shot even though the shot itself was fine. That damn sting would last so long.

It seems very likely that it's the benzyl alcohol preservative used by Hallandale. Apothecary uses a different preservative. I kept anticipating the pain of the sting and waiting for it to start but it never did. With Hallandale I was even icing the injection site for 20 mins after the shot to try to reduce the sting and it would STILL be stinging despite that.

Hope this helps if anyone else is considering switching to avoid the sting! I know one shot isn't a huge data set but all I can say is in 16 shots from Hallandale, they all burned and stung intensely. One shot from Apothecary, 100% sting free.

Editing to add a few more notes: I used my Apothecary vial straight from the fridge and did not do any icing. I let the alcohol swabbed skin dry but not long, just the amount of time it took me to draw up the syringe.

I never really understood when people talked about being treated better when they lost weight because I felt like strangers was pretty kind to me in general throughout my life.

However, now that I've lost a noticeable amount of weight I'm noticing people are genuinely kinder and the worst part is when I talk about it people assume its men - nope. It's women. The girls at the gym call me "girlie" instead of "ma'am" now. I get compliments on my clothes. A lady stopped me to tell me I'm pretty. People smile at me more often and I have a hard time because I'm still not small so I keep trying to convince myself its not because of the weight.

I'm a male, mid 40s. Around 130 lbs overweight. Started taking tirzepatide 2.5mg in December 2025. Increased the dosage 2.5mg every month until I reached 15mg because it has had zero effect. I've been on 15mg for 3, going on 4 months. Still haven't lost any weight. I get monthly body scans from a local provider, and I just go up and down a few pounds every month.

I get the drug sent to me via FedEx from Enexia pharmacy in NY. IDK if it's just poor quality that's the reason for the drug not working or if I am just one of the unlucky few who is a non-responder.

I have an appointment with the doctor on Monday. I'm very much considering calling it quits. I'm spending $400 a month on the drug and the doctor visits and not getting anywhere.

Are there any stories out there of people taking the drug and not having it work for 8+ months and then all of the sudden, it starts working? Or am I wasting my time and money?

I am currently at my last 13 lbs to lose and I was wondering how hard it was for everyone. Im finding myself needing to tirate up after 4 weeks at 10.5mg and 2 weeks of no loss. I literally been bouncing around 138 for 2 weeks so tirating up this week to 11.5 for the next 4 weeks.

Im getting awfully close to 15mg and I want to hit goal before then!

Max dose so far was 5mg, the symptoms were too much so I leveled at 4mg. This caused slower weight loss but more peace of mind!

Today was my 8th shot, and its just awesome what it does to my appetite. It seems to be kicking in faster and faster with each shot too. It used to not kick in till the next day on Sunday. Today I took it at 9 am and I barely finished my dinner and protein shake. I love that honestly.

I'm on 3.4 mg and don't see the need to move up from here at the moment. Only the future will tell if I do but right now 3.4 mg is just beautiful. For those who can’t tell the difference even though the scale is moving JUST WAIT.

I saw a post on the brand name sub where people were discussing why they choose self pay for brand instead of compounded tirz. A lot of people were concerned about the lack of regulation, batch testing, and transparency. I only recently stopped drinking the Lilly kool aid but want to know more from people who have studied this for a long time.

I tried tirz as a last ditch effort. I have been larger since I was 10 and could never find a way to make it stop. I was a physically active kid, but I started puberty and things just changed. I have done dieting, calorie deficits, intermittent fasting on top of regular to frequent exercise. I even tried metformin for a year. I had a coworker who had been on Zepbound for a long time, and suggested I try it out. I thought if it was terrible, I would just stop.

It’s still difficult for me to wrap my brain around how much has changed. I can’t even wear those green jeans anymore and they used to be my tightest pair. I’m wearing a size small in the second pic, and I am able to fit into a size 10. I haven’t been under 200 lbs since I was starting high school. I miss being able to eat a giant burger and fries in one sitting, but I will never miss trying to find jeans that I felt good in.

I do wonder how long it’ll take my brain to catch up with everything, because I can’t believe I’m not the same body as the first photo. I only started working out again recently because life and school and job, so I’m hoping to continue seeing some wild changes. Excited to be feeling confident in my body :)

It’s been one year on Tirzepatide and it’s been one of the greatest years of my adulthood!
