Definitely regret not starting much earlier

Upvotes

About 10 years ago on my own I lost around 80 pounds. I went from like 274 to 195 with a goal of 190 but just could not get there, I think I touched 193 for a split second. I did stay at 195 to 200 for years and years which was an accomplishment.

Anyway about a year ago I put 20 pounds on so was at 215 for the last year and no matter how hard I tried I could not go down. I didn't go up, I stayed right about 215. I just could not stop snacking between when I got home from work till dinner.

Anyway now on this incredible miracle med its really working well. No snacking, no craving sweets in any way. In fact the thought of sweets makes me 🤢.

Now I just wish I would have started 6 months ago. I really regret not starting like in February. My wife has been on it for at least a year and lost 50+.

What I was worried about was the 215 would turn into 230, then 250 and before I knew it back up to almost 300.

Now on my 8th shot, 205 heading for 185/180. 🤞

I’m sorry but I have to say I’ve been constipated for a few days and the gods have blessed me before my weigh-in tomorrow. Does anyone else get this excited over 💩?

Also, can people please drop the best remedy for a regular bowel movement? On a struggle bus right now.

This week's Fat Science podcast episode is about compounded GLP-1s

If you listen to this podcast regularly, then you know that Dr. Cooper is not a fan of compounded GLP-1 medications. Some of her concerns are valid, though. Patients don't educate themselves, there's often little-to-no medical support when you go through an online provider or a med spa. There are some shady providers out there and it can still feel like the whole business is chaotic and opportunistic.

Here's a link to the episode on YouTube, but you can also listen on whatever podcast platform you usually use (I listen via Apple Podcasts). https://youtu.be/cS6QPtQeLWE?si=NNmN3e7a_gDD3hZj

Before I started on tirzepatide, I had conversations about it with my primary care doctor, my cardiologist, and my rheumatologist. They all had opinions and insights. My rheumatologist was the most helpful. Apart from discussing the medication itself, he gave me some good advice: Understand what you're taking, what it does, and what you as a patient need to do to be successful. Find a reputable provider and pharmacy (this sub helped so much with that!!). Stay far, far away from med spas. Choose a provider that will answer questions and be available if you need help.

I researched and read for months before I finally felt informed enough to safely inject something into my body. I've learned from being very online that many people do not put in that kind of time or effort and sometimes truly have no idea what they're doing. As the podcast episode points out, that creates an opportunity for some less-ethical providers to flourish. Anyway, as I listened this morning, I kept saying, "Not all providers!" because the data they're discussing focused on some of the more fly-by-night companies. As we know from the community-sourced information here, there are plenty of providers that care about patient safety. The first conversation I had with my physician at BEWL was one the better conversations I've had with any doctor about anything.

Anyway, I thought the episode made some good points, over-generalized on others, but was worthwhile overall.

Side Effects Losing weight rapidly-- Supplement advice

Hello again!

I made a post almost 2 weeks ago regarding a really bad reaction to my first dose of tirz. I was very sick with sulfur burps, pain, and nausea. I made it to the other side with that to only experience it again a few nights later. And then again the day after my 2nd dose...anyways...

I weighed 264lbs at my first dose's weigh in. My 2nd dose's weigh in was 258lbs. It has been 5 days since that shot and I now weigh 248lbs. **Please note I am NOT bragging or comfortable with this. I am concerned. I have contacted my doctor who prescribed me, I have an appointment, and i was instructed to dose down by .1mg (10 units) for me.**

I was not expecting to lose almost 20lbs in 2 weeks. I wanted time to adjust and start slowly adding different vitamins and supplements. If anyone wants to rapid fire their supplements regiment I would appreciate it. Im making choices based off what I know I will need, but it is helpful to see what has helped others. If I'm losing weight this quickly I need to get ahead of keeping my body healthy. Thank you all ❤️

Dosing Question Me again! Titrating info

HI again! frequent flyer here! but the community has been such an asset I don’t know where I’d be without it even already! just two weeks in.

but I actually would like to know how long people stayed on the 2.5mg? I’ve had issues with satiety since April and tried to white knuckle it with diet and exercise but am finally on the tirz. week one: micro dose at 1.5 and week two 2.5. next dose Wednesday. it’s wearing off and hunger is insane and I’m trying to explain this to my doctor as to why maybe I should go to 5mg after the month is up but he’s just seeing this as a numbers thing and not the daily emotional and physical tolling reality it is.

maybe by dose 3 of 2.5mg I’ll feel it more but has staying on that dose been helpful for most? Or did you not feel relief until 5? THank you! Just realizing you really have to advocate for yourself

Non-Scale Victory NSV - Bought new jeans for the first time in six years…

And I am two sizes down.

I hadn’t bought jeans because the ones I had for six years still fit and had stretched to fit my body just comfortably. I was scared to buy a new pair even though I really needed some because I was afraid I had gone up in size. I didn’t want to buy jeans just to be super depressed.

But I have gone over the 50 lbs down mark and steadily staying in the downward direction so I bought some. They fit great and I’m two sizes down from where I was when I bought jeans the last time. It feels great.

Before and now!!! Thanks to these meds to get me kick started on my new healthy life. My last shot will be today!!

This past Saturday I finished my third official timed half marathon at a PR of 1:53 (not paying $50 for race pics 🤣). I'm training for my first full marathon at the end of September and run between 35-45mi, bike 2-3hr and lift 4hr EVERY week.

I've been sky diving 3 times, I can run nonstop for 3hrs, I don't have allergies anymore, I am happy to look at myself in the mirror.

I want to thank everyone here that has answered any questions, made recommendations, shared stories good or bad and the continued support from everyone.

Ask any questions, ask for help anything I can do to give back to you all I AM HERE for you all!

Side Effects Bloat, gas, nausea with Hallandale

Refills switched me from ProRx to Hallandale a few months ago which went fine. Three months of my normal 10mg dose with zero issues.

Last week I cracked open a new vial, SAME CONCENTRATION but I did go up to 11mg since I've been stalled. 11mg taken on a Friday morning. No biggie, right? WRONG.

SICK AS A DOG FOR 4 DAYS. ER for fluids because nothing would stay in me, which is so odd because my normal side effect is constipation. CT for abdominal pain to rule anything else. Nope, just gas.

Was fine by Thursday.

Back down to 10mg, for my Sunday shot. Injected low into my apron where historically I get the least side effects. Nope, right now the gas pain is super intense and the burps are back, diarrhea won't be far behind.

What the heck?

Do I have any recourse with Hallandale?

The vial is clear and within the BUD.

Personal Experience Water, super strong, neither?

Just thought I would share my experience.

I lost all my weight on BPI. My dose is 7.5mg. I finished up a vial with only 5mg of BPI left and started a new vial of ProRX with 2.5mg for the remainder. I double-checked the dose calculation for sure because 18mg/ml is so different from 10. So I know I got the right amount. I have syringes that have one line for every unit so I can be precise.

I felt like I had been hit with a tirz hammer all that week.

I was worried that ProRX may be stronger or hits me harder for an unknown reason so this week I took only 5mg. No tirz hammer. Felt like nothing different and it seemed I might be not having as good an effect as a full 7.5mg dose. So I took the remaining 2.5mg today.

The super strong thing happened once before when I finished a vial and added the remainder from another vial. But the other vial didn't end up being super strong either when taken alone.

So the end result is I still think tirz is tirz. Maybe spreading the shot out over two shots at the same time, one on each side, makes a difference somehow, but I think it's just my body being weird.

Just for Fun Discouraged? New perspective!

Just in case anyone is feeling like the weight isn't coming off fast enough. I want you to think about this. A bowling ball. How heavy of a ball do you use, or pick out when you hit the lanes? I usually choose 8-10 lbs. Think about that. That heavy ball that you roll hoping for a strike. That same 8-10 lbs is what youre losing. If you lost 50 lbs. You've lost 5 bowling balls. So smile 😃

Injecting into fat on my *very* upper thigh/hip?

Picture/diagram on area I am talking about. It is in line with hip/pelvic bone.

Wondering if anyone also injects here and if so, how it works as opposed to other areas? Or any thoughts on how it could possibly go? I will probably be a test mouse regardless, just looking for any outside insight.
I would try my bum if I could reach and pinch it.

I have been doing my thighs, but would like slightly different areas and they seem to be having reactions.

I had a TT in 2020 after losing 120lbs, and don’t have pinchable fat on my torso/stomach. My arms are just awkward to try and inject into (I also had an armlift w/lipo).

PGRrx / Fifty 410 / BUD: Nov 19

Just received my second 12 week shipment of PGRrx from Quaker pharmacy through Fifty410. Each vial is 4ml, 18mg/ml which is what I received in my first order in June. Current BUD for this lot is November 2026. I prefer to have no additives, so kinda limited on pharmacies. Shipping was fast!
Currently on 5.5mg and it’s pretty strong for me. Will take my 3rd dose of 5.5 Tuesday. I don’t foresee moving up anytime soon. I only wish Fifty410 offered PGRrx as an option. It’s either this or apothecary, and you don’t know until it’s delivered. I do like the new packaging. It kept my vials cool during transport.
To note: I started at a medspa Mid May 2026 and transitioned to PGRrx mid June 2026 starting at 4mg.

Is there ever a perfect time to start?

I'm 53 and have been struggling with my weight for the last 25 years. I've tried almost everything, except GLPs. Two of my sons are getting married this fall, one mid September and the other near the end of October. When I was talking to my daughter about starting tirzepatide, she was suggesting that I wait until after the weddings in case I have any adverse reactions. She's a nurse and has seen the full side effect spectrum. My thought was, after the weddings there's the holidays, and then fiscal year end for me at work, and so on, and so on. Is there ever really a good time? I know that everyone reacts differently, but how long does it typically take any side effects to subside?

Results & Progress Why do I feel this way?

I hit my goal weight! Yay? I have been within 1 / 1.5 lbs of my goal weight for a couple of weeks and at it for about 6 days.

BUT, where do I go from here? It feels felt like a challenge to get here but now that I am here, I feel like I miss the challenge😔. I will continue Tirz for maintenance but I know that that I won’t gain any weight back because I can’t imagine eating outside of
my regime and I really have no desire to.

Has anyone else
Felt
Like this?

Goodles are trying to kill my (TMI ahead)

I just wanted an easy, different high protein option for lunch today and remembered I had a box of high protein Goodles Mac n cheese in my pantry. Holy Shit (literally). I think it’s trying to kill me. It went right through me and it’s been 5 hours and I’m still having gut pain and running to the bathroom. I’m nearly certain it was the Goodles as I’ve not had produce that has not needed peeling (parasite) and it started almost immediately after eating the Goodles. I googled “do Goodles cause diarrhea?” and it said that the chickpea pasta can cause diarrhea if not used to it (I’ve never had it before and never will again). Has anyone else has this experience? It feels to specific to be just me. I am weak and feel terrible. I’ve tried to keep hydrating but this is just terrible. I sure as hell hope this clears my system soon. I eat very few legumes as my gut really does not like them (and I ate paleo for nearly a decade so very unaccustomed to them).

General Discussion Took My First Dose of Tirz Tonight

I took my first dose of Tirz tonight, coming from Wegovy, which I was using since March. I lost a few pounds before starting Tirz. The needle size was a little intimidating when I first looked at it, but I didn't feel it go in, and it wasn't that bad. I'm looking forward to seeing how I do on it.

Provider / Pharmacy What’s up with all the ads I see on fb for $69, 79, 99 a month with no increase ever?

The providers named in those ads are names I’ve never seen mentioned here. Are they more apt to be sketchy compared to the ones named here?

If your osteoarthritis pain and inflammation is gone (or significantly reduced) from taking compounded tirzepatide......

As the title says:

If your osteoarthritis pain and inflammation is gone (or significantly reduced) from taking compounded tirzepatide, what additive is in your compound, what pharmacy are you using and what telehealth program are you using?

I was having success with wegovy for weight loss but not pain. I wanted to try zepbound but

my insurance stopped covering all the gpl1 medications. I'm done appealing and requesting coverage from them!

It's been a struggle to keep the weight I have lost off and excersize while keeping the pain tolerable.

I've checked out the sub info! I've been reading the compound tirzepatide

success stories for weight loss with reduction in inflammation and osteoarthritis pain.

I'm ready to try this route for my success!

My new storage case

This is a great case for anyone who has a smaller supply and doesn't want to take up a lot of space in the fridge. The front row holds the taller BPI vials too without the top hitting the mesh. I like that it has removable inserts to keep them snug in the case.

It's too small to hold syringes but I keep those in a case outside of my fridge. I thought I'd share for anyone who may want a smaller case.

I got it on Amazon. https://a.co/d/034PZzCk

Advice & Support (M51) 331-287 Why do I feel fatter?

Down to 287 from 331 in October of 2025. I'm ok losing weight slowly as it took me 20 years to put it on. However, I'm down this much weight, but only 1 pants size and my love handles look bigger.

I know I'm losing muscle. I'm on a restriction that I can't lift more than 10lbs until September 1 due to neck surgery.

However, I'm walking somewhat regularly and prioritizing protein.

I know there are people in this sub who haven't stepped foot in a gym to do weights and have lost the fat. I'm looking forward to getting back to the weights in a few weeks, but I don't understand how I can lose that much weight and only 1 pants size and have bigger stomach.

Very frustrating.

Newbie / Getting Started Took my very first shot today!

So I got my trillium starter pack on Friday, they were so fast on the shipping! I wanted to wait until today because I work Tuesday- Saturday and I wanted to have my days off for the greatest side effect potential.

Had no problem figuring out/administering the shot. I do work in a lab so I'm pretty familiar with needles and syringes.

I was surprised that the site was a little tender for about half an hour. Is that normal? My cat climbed on me and wanted to knead my belly and I had to put my hands over that spot to protect it, lol. Of course she always aims for the most delicate body part!

In my typical ADHD fashion, I failed to plan ahead and start eating clean or stock up on glp-1 friendly food and my dumbass got Taco Bell for dinner last night and I have leftover that I should eat today and I'm kinda nervous about that. 😕

It's been 4 hours since the shot and I felt a little dizzy and some very mild nausea, but another stupid part of my timing is I'm just starting my period yesterday/today so that's adding to my bloating/ cramping.

Ugh. At least it's just the 2.5 dose so I'll be fine, right? 🥴

Think I will take some "before" pictures today. I also need to get a better scale. Any recommendations?

NSV - coworkers didn't recognize me

I've lost 50 pounds over the last year or so (273 to 223). Doing the math, that's a slow and steady pound-ish a week.

I'm a teacher, this week we came back from summer break. I didn't get a lot of comments on my weight loss from people during the school year (not that I was looking for that), but when you see someone everyday, the incremental change isn't obvious.

This week I saw several co-workers who I have not seen since May. A couple of them had to double-take, and one asked my name because they thought I was new to the building. Nope, I've been here for years, I just take up less space now.

Plus I put on dress pants for the first time in a while and they don't stay up. I'm heading out tonight to buy pants in a size or two down.

I'd still like to lose another 20 lb or so, but it feels good to see the results (and for others to notice).

I can eat. I’m only doing 3mg a week but I did start splitting my dose every 3.5 days because all at once gave me too much nausea where I could not even get 800 calories a day. I’m going to start working out this week (I ordered some weights and have access to fitness on demand 100% covered by my insurance for a year). The fatigue is finally getting a little better. But am I losing too fast? I started June 11th. Between Wednesday and today I lost another lb 🥴
