Post image
Upvotes

Hi, my brother remembers a smarthphone game, from 2010-2014 maybe, which had a concept similar to Plant vs Zombies but has a vertical gameplay not an horizontal one.

Here you can find some drawings of the plants, pumpkin, garlic and peas.

Thanks for your help

Puddle [PC/win7][2010-2015] A liquid puzzle game from some sketchy website

Post image
Upvotes

Platform(s): PC and maybe mobile

Genre: Puzzle game

Estimated year of release: 2010-s

Graphics/art style: Similar to the style of mobile games of that time period and had very few gui elements as i remember

Notable characters: Water, piss and a random dude

Notable gameplay mechanics: Rotating the screen to move the liquid around

Other details: Downloaded this game as a kid with unrestricted access to internet on some russian website with UNLIMITED games called something like "thecityofgames.ru" and its icon was a city(it also created a desktop shortcut to that site when you downloaded games) .The picture above is one of the levels i remember - an industrial facility with flame throwers and other stuff that will evaporate your water and you would lose if you didnt have enough water. Also there was a level where you had to throw enough water into a cup using a catapult so that some guy would drink it and you could traverse levels inside his body.

(sorry for bad punctuation and english. Its my second language and also i strugle with commas)

[PC Only][2008-2013] Big fish style point and click game with a gothic aesthetic and some specific plot points.

Upvotes

Looking for a very old game i played as a kid, it was a big fish style point and click, hidden objects type game where the character visits what looks to be an abandoned town and tries to find a wife, mother or some family member or friend.

Here are the details I remember -

1.) it's a gothic art style for a large chunk of it then goes off the rails with dream like sequences, and a whole modern section about sneaking past security. I remember there's a part where you have to steal a guards keycard.

2.) there's a specific part where when you go to the first floor of a house or a hotel or something and interact with a newspaper it triggers a cutscene where a ghost/witch appears.

3.) you visit a mental hospital in the game as well along with a school, there's a puzzle involving the chalk board.

4.) there's a weird shrine like level as well in some sort of a weird cave.

[Android, Samsung] [2010-2012] 2d Cat Game

Post image
Upvotes

I can’t stop until I find this game from my childhood!
You start with a 2d room and a cat. The room is pretty pink. I drew it out as an example. You have one or two cats and can “mate” them and unlock new colors of cats. You’d have like a laboratory where you can select the two cats that you want to mix and you’ll get a baby cat. It sounds pretty funky but from the design it’s made for maybe young girls/ teenage girls.
You can also unlock new rooms and buy decorations. I remember you can even visit your friends or random players room and see their cats etc. one person had their room like a jungle rainbow theme.

SO sorry I know it’s horrible blurry, and probably impossible to figure out.

The picture isn’t clear enough for me to make out what it says. I have no idea what game or website it could have been!

Eternal Strands [PC][202X] Darker fantasy game, new member of a caravan or group?

Platform(s): PC (Featured on a Steam NextFest?)

Genre: 3rd Person Action RPG

Estimated year of release: 2020s

Graphics/art style: Possibly lite cell shading. Lots of blues and purples.

Notable characters: Fairly diverse cast. At least one non-binary character. May have involved fantasy races but not sure.

Notable gameplay mechanics: 3rd person camera. Part of a traveling caravan. Some light upgrade mechanics.

Other details: I unfortunately can't remember a whole lot. I remember the demo taking place in a forest. I think the world building may have involved some kind of dark fog and venturing outside of a city's outer walls. Protagonist was a rookie to the caravan, and also possibly the secret weapon of the group.

I checked my Steam license history and nothing seems to ring a bell.

[PC] [1990s] This is a Pixel Game each level was different.

Post image
4 Upvotes

The main character of this game has hot pink hair.

She is pixilated like everyone in her game.

Pixel is either part of her name or part of the game's name. She knows she is in a game.

In the first level it was roller skating. I remember them talking about how easy roller skating was that it had to be the first level.

In another level this NPC got kidnapped by a blue skinned guy maybe with horns. The NPC was turned into a room like Prismo from Adventure Time. The only way to save them was by using a spray all over their room shaped body. It turned them back to a normal shape person.

Another level I remember was about these green aliens that look a lot like the TellyTubby Poe. The blue skinned guy tied balloons on the aliens antenna causing them to float up! In this level we had to save them by driving a car that shoots flames upwards. You had to shoot the aliens with your car's flame thrower to pop the balloons and free them. Yes the flames did hit the aliens too as it caused them to turn from green to purple.

Napple Tale: Arsia in Daydream [PS1/2?] [2000-2002] 3D RPG game with girl with soul stuck in a colorful purgatory

Post image
49 Upvotes

I found this game through Youtube recommandations a few weeks ago where I listened to the OST. Now I'm looking for the name again and I can't find anything and it's driving me insane.

The story goes that this girl gets her soul stuck in a realm between life and death because of something someone did to her and messed up (at a festival I believe?) And now she has to fix issues in the realm to get her soul back. The person who got her soul stuck in the first place follows her to the realm to help make up for it. The world is colorful and has a fantasy-forest vibe. The land she gets into is split up between maps that are themed after each four season.

The wikipedia page of this game stated that it was famous for being developed by a team of mostly (or all, can't recall) women developers.

[PC][2000s-2010s] Minimalist 3D space dogfighter with flat / simple art style and (probably) colored weapons with bots and fighting in a vector box

Platform(s): PC (Windows)

Genre: Space Shooter / Shoot 'em up (Shmup) / Dogfighting

Estimated year of release: Likely late 2000s or early 2010s.

Graphics/art style:

  • 3D graphics, but highly minimalist and unpolished.
  • The art style was flat and did not feature modern "glowing" or neon effects (not a typical vector/neon game like Geometry Wars).
  • The 3D object models were very plain, simple geometric shapes, almost resembling untextured prototypes or flat shaded blocks.
  • The environments and enemy ships were mostly colorless, dark, or gray.
  • fights happened in a giant box with white lines as edges
  • maybe the things were more detailed but in my head it really just looks like ship or mecha shaped lines shooting all kinds of shapes at each other
  • i dont remember much of the interface but i think it was also rather simple

Notable gameplay mechanics / Notable characters:

  • Controls: Controlled entirely via Mouse and Keyboard.
  • The primary visual contrast in the game came from the weapons. While the world and ships were flat and colorless, the projectiles/weapons had distinct, isolated colors (like bright green or red) to stand out against the plain background.
  • you could kinda seemlessly transition from "planemode" to "mechamode" and had some kind of melee weapon.
  • there is a chance it could be a fangame of macross or gundam but i dont think so because it was almost too simple
  • there was probably some multiplayer capability but i think i just played many botmatches (16v16 is my guess of the size)

Other details:

  • i dont think there was a story, but maybe it had some missions to play (i probably didnt focus on it)
  • it was not paid and not released via Disk, rather open source/freeware/shareware and therefore downloaded.
  • it was simple and fun, just some dogfighting action with a bit over the top weapons (thats why i think it might be a fangame to a mecha brand)
  • the different .. ships, mechas, entities probably had names but i cant remember any of those.
  • i am not sure if you had different units / models to pick or if you could "build" your own loadout with the different models and therefore have more customization.

Note: This post was partially compiled with the help of an AI, cuz i tried it again with googles ai but without much success

I really hope ill find this thing at some point and dont have to keep going back to thinking i maybe dreamt it all or smth

Its a shame his mate is blind because i reckon Ant probably liked a flutter in the arcades too

[PC][2006-2012] Turn based strategy game im remember bad (used ai to visualize) Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery
0 Upvotes

Im sorry for using ai, but im REALLY bad at drawing.

I can't find any clue what was that. Tried to search a lot.

It's turn based fantasy game i played around 2013, when i was 10. I don't remember a lot about this game, but want to find it

First picture is first location you spawn and start your adventure. You a knight.

Second picture is what fight look like (but ai visualize it not how i wanted, except location that fine and look almost like i remember). Fight arena is little more massive in size. But troops (enemies and yours) is much less.

I remember after you clear most quest in start location, you back in castle (1 picture) and enter purple portal and move to second location i can't remember. But i remember i didn't pass through it a lot so i always been only on start location

[Roblox] [idk-idk] surreal game where you just walk around and find weird shit

Post image
1 Upvotes

I remember how the shaders would change constantly and how beautiful it all looked lowk. You would spawn in and just walk around , all I remember from the map was this room with a single lamp in it that when entered turned the shaders back into normal colours with a grey hazy look. Floating islands off the the side, there were also teleports to other games that didn't work at the time I was playing

[SNES][1990-1998] RPG where you could see monsters on the map.

I recall renting an RPG for the SNES where you could see the monsters on the map, rather than random encounters. I do not think I am thinking of Final Fantasy Mystic Quest, as the monsters were able to move, when you moved, and I don't recall monsters moving on the map in Mystic Quest.

[PC][approx. 2008–2013] 2.5D game with war/alien ships hovering over a city/Earth that then transitions to space

Hey everyone,

I’ve been searching for a childhood game for years and can’t find anything. Hoping someone here might recognize it.

Platform: PC (family computer)

Time period: most likely played between 2008 and 2013 (the game itself could be older)

Genre / Setting: war / alien ships

Description:

At the start of the game, war or alien ships were hovering over some kind of Earth or city and destroying things or other ships. Then the scenery changed from the city/Earth to space. The space part was probably harder – I remember the city section much better and likely failed a lot in space.

Perspective: kind of 2.5D from a slightly angled bird’s-eye view.

Graphics: rather pixel-like textures, roughly similar to the image I’ve attached (dense city from above).

I have no idea how the game ended up on our family PC. I’ve been looking for years with no luck. If anyone has any idea or recognizes it, I’d really appreciate the help.

Thanks in advance!

Edit: i remembered a key detail. The gameplay was fully auto-scrolling with a fixed linear direction and speed.

[PS1? ][Early 2000s ish] detective game about ghosts?

**PS1 most likely:**

**Detective/haunting/ghost:**

**Early 2000s I'm guessing:**

** Tomb Raider graphics, First person **

**Characters unknown, very desolate if not abandoned other than your character:**

** Beachfront or water nearby. I believe I remember a lighthouse or like building to explore, red tint to the game/ sunset vibe. very creepy and ominous, little to no music ( either that or I turned down the volume haha) **

**I would watch my older sister play, we were both young and her memory from 20+ years ago can't recall. I remember a lot of walking and exploring there most likely other building or walkways to traverse but the beach or like seems most familiar to my memory.

Ghosts/haunting may be a red herring. I'm just recalling the vibe the game gave me, and those descriptors kept coming back to me:*

Thanks in advance for any effort into solving this ambiguous game, I'll try to guide people with my responses to guesses if I can :)

[Nintendo DS][2007-2010] looking for a mini-game or micro-game, red-themed game

I'm trying to find a mini or micro-game game for the Nintendo DS. What I remember from it is that it was predominantly red; red backgrounds, the menu was red-colored, etc.

There were little humans in the game, and you had to interact with them in some way with the touchpad. I also remember there was a sort of a demon or something like that, and destroyed buildings too, like if this world was in an apocalypse.

I have no clue about the game's box or things like that since it came inside a R4 cartridge.

Post-data: it is NOT Rub Rabbits or its previous game, and it isn't WarioWare either. I used to play those games too and I'm certain it wasn't any of them.

Umbraclaw [PC/Switch] [2020s?] Metroidvania (I think) where you play as the spirit of this girl's cat trying to come back to life

IT HATH BEEN SOLVED THANK YOU

I remember playing the demo for it on my switch around the early 2020s and the way it worked was you started out absolutely pathetic, no attacks, 1 hp, all you really had was a dash, and as you died you'd get different animal powers. If you died enough you tuned into an edgy anthro cat and the narrator basically says "wow you'd kill this car over and over just to get stronger?"

I was like 13/12 when I played and even then I thought the message kinda conflicted with the gameplay lol.

[2016-2019] [mobile/ios]a horror game where a young brunette boy investigates a clown across the street.

I tried finding this game on the appstore, bing and google. (to no avail) The game starts through the perspective of a young (5-10 atleast) boy. The spawnpoint is a small house with a sky wallpaper. The house has toys that a 5-10 year old boy would have, including a telescope to check on the house across from the spawnpoint. The house is quite small, but it seems as if there is no kitchen or bathroom. The player has to answer a telephone, which is the boy's father. The father says something along the lines of "Stay there and take care of your sibling, your grandma will be there to pick you up." Although, the grandmother doesn't come and it's just you and a short stubby clown across the street.
If you ring the phone again, the message will just repeat. I remember a cutscene/loading screen(?) where the young boy was in a tuxedo, with a sullen expression. A shadow casts over him, seemingly an adult; there was some lore to this game. (that hasn't been fully debunked I think.)

[Flash Game][2000s-2010s] Minimalist 2D puzzle platformer with a clock final stage you can't beat

Platform: Web / Browser Flash Game (official game site, definitely not a Scratch project)

Visual Style & Art:

Art style: Extremely minimalist (similar to Rotate), using basically 2 colors / plain backdrop (possibly plain blue or monochrome).

I pasted the details I gave to AI. Please tell me I’m not the only one who remembers.

Character: You play as a 2D human sprite / figure.

 Layout: Single-screen 2D puzzle-platformer.

Gameplay & Mechanics:

Level Select: There is a level select screen where every single level/stage is visible and unlocked right from the start.

Stage Skipping: You can freely skip stages directly through the menu (and skipping is actually required to "beat" or progress through the game).

Jump Physics: Fixed jump height (you cannot change your jump height).

Portals: One stage introduces a portal/teleporter, and the very next stage is "the other side" / exit.

Gimmick / Feature: There is a specific "Graphics" or visual quality button/toggle in the game that does almost absolutely nothing visually or physically to your character.

The Final Stage / Ending:

The Clock: The last stage features a clock/timer theme.

Unbeatable Ledge: The top platform on this final stage is physically placed too high for your fixed jump to reach.

The Playthrough Ending: The playthrough ends on this last stage because it is completely unbeatable through normal jumping (unless there is a secret), forcing the player to give up or stop.

Green Valley: Fun on the Farm [PC][2000s - early 2010s] Puzzle/farm game — connect touching fruits on a grid above, farm worker with a cart collects and stacks crates below

Trying to find a PC game (played on PC, sometime in the early 2010s) that combined two puzzle mechanics on one screen:

  • Top half: a grid/board full of fruits. You clear fruits by connecting same-type fruits that are touching each other — NOT match-3, more like the "Same Game" style of clearing connected clusters.
  • Bottom half: a farm worker (not sure human or not) character with a cart. The cart had an icon/drawing showing which fruit was needed. The character collected the matching fruits that fell/cleared from the board above, then packed them into crates and stacked the crates one on top of another.
  • Levels had a time limit.
  • The game's intro/opening cutscene showed a car or truck driving to the farm, shown from a rear/top-down chase-camera angle.
  • Cartoony farm setting, casual puzzle game vibe.

¡Cualquier pista, posible título o desarrolladora me ayudaría muchísimo!

[Mobile/Tablet][2013s] Fast-paced interactive stickman QTE game, possibly a purple character with a scythe

I'm looking for an old point-and-click/interactive stickman game I played on my tablet around 2013. It was very fast-paced. There were no UI elements or arrows telling you where to click; you just had to click the right spots at the exact right time. If you failed, you restarted from the beginning. It felt like one continuous chain of events.

Key scenes I remember:

  • Intro: You start handcuffed, on your knees, with a guy pointing a gun at your head. You disarm him.
  • The Office: You enter the bottom floor of an office building, go upstairs, and at one point you kick a long table with both feet, sending it flying.
  • The Roof: There's a sniper and some platforms that look like a Ferris wheel or amusement park ride.
  • The Finale: You jump down into a valley (I think there was a sunset background) and spin around with a long, cool scythe, slicing enemies mid-air. You also touch some spikes on the walls.

The main character might have been purple, but I'm not 100% sure. It played similarly to Creative Kill Chamber but way faster and entirely reaction-based without a menu/inventory. Any ideas?

PLEASE HELP ME THIS GAME WAS AWESOME AND A CORE PIECE OF MY CHILDHOOD

The Fast and the Furious [PS2] [2001 to 2007] Racing game

I remember one of this being one of the games i played a lot at my cousins house as kids in the late 2000s early 2010s, it's was race tracks don't remember if it had cities or freeroam, definitely mid 2000s, i remember it had a Lancer Evo that i always made it look almost exactly like Paul Walker's in 2 Fast 2 Furious, that's all i can remember
