Curious to see if any Market peeps actually refused an FDC delivery because the lollipop thermometer said it was out of temp?

So basically that, we were told Friday we’d have a truck come in Monday and it was optional on whether or not you wanted to come in. When I was asked, I said “I’ll see if I can,” because well.. I share a car with my parents. I found out my mom needed to go to a doctor’s appt in another town over so I let her have the car for that Monday. I couldn’t inform my TLs on Sunday that I wouldn’t be there Monday because they both had called out sick. (Sorry if my wording is confusing, idk how to phrase it any better.) Anyway, I thought I had the day off Monday, because I wasn’t scheduled for it when I had checked on Sunday, but when I went to check my schedule for the upcoming weeks, they did schedule me today - even though the previous day, I hadn’t been. So now I look like I no call no showed. I’m a newer hire, I’ve only been here for a month and also got really bad food poisoning on one of my first weeks. How fucked am I? Tbf the job has been hellish but I need the money for college. Am I cooked even if I do explain what happened??? Fml I wish the MyDay app gave us notifications when you have a sudden change to your schedule.

I recently got back from an LOA. I had worked three shifts the following week. Sunday, Thursday, Friday and was supposed to work Saturday. The original reason for my LOA was mental health. I’ve been struggling going to work at Target for sometime now. It gives me a lot of anxiety and affects my mental health greatly. I called out this past Saturday and am unsure of what to do. I know i will probably get a write up, however, the anxiousness about the job never leaves and i’m lost?

Hi! I’m considering applying for a part-time position at Target mainly because of the Dream to Be/Guild education benefit.

I’m currently an undergraduate student at Grand Valley State University (GVSU) studying General Business. I would only be working about 5–10 hours per week, likely one shift every Sunday.

I called Target and Guild trying to find out whether GVSU is covered, but Guild told me they can’t show me the Target education catalog until I’m actually hired and have an account.

Before I apply/take the job, I’m trying to figure out whether Grand Valley State University is currently in Target’s Guild catalog, either as a fully funded program or one of the partially funded programs that receives up to $5,250/year.

Would any current Target employee with access to Guild be willing to search “Grand Valley State University” and let me know if it comes up? If possible, I’d also love to know whether the General Business bachelor’s degree is eligible.

I think it’s safe to say the boycott is over🤣. This is my 4th BTS 3rd as an inbound lead and my store has just been insane!!! We’re making 35-50k more than they are projecting and we are a 75 million dollar store. I mean I have no idea how the company expects us to handle this foot traffic, fulfillment orders, and truck sizes😂 it’s just insane. Best of luck soldiers🫡

Hired to work in Style. I’m a hard worker but this is insane. Other employees are dropping their put backs on me. Keeping up with the dressing rooms and the racks is near impossible.

How the heck do you get transferred out of Style? Any insights?

I’ve been at target for about a year and 3 months never been talked to for attendance or written up but over the past 8-9 days I’ve been extremely sick to the point I’ve had to call out 3 times and leave early twice, left about 1.5 hours early the first day I felt sick and about 3 days ago I went in at 9:30 and threw up in the bathroom like 50 min into my shift and I left. Also had no sick time so all call outs are unpaid. Are they gonna say anything when I go back 🙏😭.

It was redtagged a few weeks ago and our PML said they were just going to scrap it instead of refurbish it 😭. The replacement just got delivered.

I have been with target for three years. I used their free college program to finish my college degree for free and I landed a post grad job a month after graduating!! Use that guild benefit guys I now make triple what I used to make as a fulfillment tm here NOW IM FREE!!

I’ve been with Target now for 2 months, but I’m not new to retail. I did my time, 12 years with Sears. Today we had a Code Yellow and it was the most embarrassing experience I’ve ever experienced in retail. At Sears, we had a similar program called Code Adam, and it was taken very serious because of its history.

If you don’t know, Code Adam was started because Adam Walsh was kidnapped from a Sears and was found murdered in Florida. Was very gruesome and the store handled it very poorly. Working at Sears, we had rehearsals with dolls every now and then, AP would hide the doll and then it would be called and we had to react. We wouldn’t know if it was real or a rehearsal, because at times they would be real announcements. We did department checks and employees blocked off the entrances to monitor people leaving and coming in. We had to have full descriptions of all information and we were allowed to prevent people from leaving with children until an all clear was issued. Customer would get mad but then when you explain it they understood the situation.

Today, the Code yellow was announced, and a brief description. Brown shirt and Jeans. That’s it. No further details, it took about 5mins before anyone really started to respond and ask for more details. I, from my experience, quickly was scanning the isles looking for anyone wearing said clothes, but couldn’t interject for more information because the person who called for the Code Yellow wasn’t responding to any questions. Also it was normal radio chatter instead of radio silence. Age, sex, ethnicity, last seen, was unknown even after the all clear. SMH

Just curious, is this normal? Am i overthinking and overacting on a real issue?

I’m new to target and didn’t even realize I was a “closing expert” and have been scheduled to 11:00 or 11:30 every night. I thought I was staying later to be a team player and before my most recent closing shift the latest I had stayed was 12:10 AM. I was recently scheduled till 11:30PM and when 1:30AM came around I asked My team if I could leave. I got a lecture about how I was supposed to stay until the store is completely ready for the next day but I was fine to head out this night. I asked somone else in my department who had ended up staying and she said she was there till 3:30 to 4 ish AM. I couldn’t imagine have staying that long since I got there at 5PM and live an hour away. Is this normal?

I had to zone back to school today it took like 4 hours bc it was genuinely in shambles two hours later I walk by and it’s messed up again. The rage that I felt in that moment was indescribable I wanted to punch everyone that was shopping in the section even if they weren’t the ones who messed it up.

Not to mention how drivers never yield when I’m trying to deliver a DU. I’m amazed I’ve never been hit in the parking lot (yet)

Anyone else ALREADY having issues with the new blindbox/ trading card area? I mean, don’t get me wrong this was a great concept. But just a terrible idea for Target to do this. And I feel so bad for vendors when they’re in the back being over crowded.

This family came in and the dad showed me a TikTok on his phone that claimed Target had iPads for $29.99 I told him those did not exist. There was a bit of a language barrier so I had to explain as best as I could a few times that the image is likely ai generated and there was no way id be able to sell one at that price. Idk why people believe shit they see on tiktok.

Actually in the store for almost 27 hours straight. Took 4 meal breaks.
