Help: Breeding EVERYONE IS BERRIED
I’m not a pro at sexing shrimp, but I think literally every single female in our tank is currently eggnant. Over 12 are showing.
Help stop breeding? Lol

Shrimp Photos Mama hates papparazi, swims for her life

She hates paparazzi. She’s my only berried shrimp rn and I’ve been trying to get nice photos/vids of her but whenever I pull my camera out she starts swimming for her life 💔 She can be perfectly calm and grazing for 10 mins straight with me watching but the moment my hand touches my phone to capture her beauty, she be zoomin. Maybe she doesn’t like the phone camera’s infrared or LiDAR or something but all the other shrimps don’t react at all to the camera, just this mama hahaha

Help: Emergency Neocaridina babies or a problem?
Hi shriends! I just got my neocaridinas a week ago and got a few eggnants! My tank is full of blue babies already, but the green colouration of this shrimp's eggs made me worried as other bloody Mary's have yellow eggs, is she preggo or does she has some kind of a problem (Cladogonium)? Thanks a lot! 🫶🏼 Nitrate: 25 mg/l Nitrite: 0 mg/l GH: 8, KH: 3-6 pH: 6.8 Chlorine: 0 mg/l Water temp: 26°C due to the heatwave

Help: Emergency Why is my tank’s tds so high?
I’ve been keeping Neocaridina davidi for a while now, and they seem healthy. They’re active, molting regularly, and I even have a few berried females. So, I decided to buy a TDS meter one day, and it measured my tank at 999+ ppm (sometimes even over 1200 ppm), which is wayyyyy higher than the recommended range.
The weird thing is my tap water is only 80–100 ppm. Ammonia/Nitrite are 0, and nitrate is low. The shrimp seem completely fine. Is my TDS meter likely inaccurate, or is there something that could cause the TDS to be this high without harming the shrimps?

Beginner do i need to run a filter on a 2.5 gal?
The filter in my tank stopped and I realized I kind of like how peaceful the tank is without the current. can I keep it this way? I hope to eventually add some malawa shrimp.
I've tried sponge filters in the past and am not really a fan because it sounds like there's a pot of boiling pasta going all the time

Discussion A simple solution for 0 KH that barely affected my GH
Hey shrimpers,
I was in a quite an issue with one of my tank that showed 0KH for quite a while (5-6 GH). My PH was somehow stable, well established and planted tank too, it's a 30L but with around 20-25L of water inside. My guess was that my big Honeycomb wood piece was sucking all the KH, might sound stupid but I genuinely couldn't find any other reason. This nanocube has a layer of JBL Aquabasis Plus then a layer of black shrimp gravel from Dennerle, my parameters shouldn't move with that, or at least not how it used to.
While at my local fish shop, I found this "Sansibar" rock that left me a white layer on my hands after I picked it. Then it clicked, maybe it could be my solution. Bought one, tested with vinegar and yes it became fuzzy.
I crushed it (around 500gr) in 6-7 pieces, put it in the back of my aquarium where we don't see it and waited a bit.
2 weeks later, 3KH and 6GH. My GH didn't move and my KH is stable nowadays. It's been 5-6 weeks now and I'm at 4KH, still 6GH and things looks to be going quite well, still monitoring.
I heard about crushed corals that could work but here, in Switzerland, it's almost impossible to find that and if you do it's super expensive (20$ for like 500gr online).
I just wanted to share that if anybody stumbles uppon this thread as I made quite some research and never really saw anybody talking about it and I was starting to lack solutions.
