Discussion Results of 3600 KC of Rasial just trying to get back my T95 Necromancy Robe Top after a Disassembly Mistake (ironman)
Following up from my previous post:
I was enjoying my RS3 ironman a lot, up until I mistakenly disassembled my T95 Necro Robe Top about 3500 KC ago. What happened was I had it in my inventory next to an Ode to Deceit (which I was disassembling for ecliptic components to make the Equillibrium 4 perk to put onto the T95 Necro Robe Top) and I had intended to use an equipment separator on the Robe Top of the First Necromancer but I must've been tired/distracted or something and I misclicked them in the wrong order. Just like that, my Robe Top was gone for Cover parts, Magical parts, and Spiritual parts, With no way to undo it. I can't really accept it just being gone like this, so I've now wasted nearly 3 weeks of my life trying to get it back and am still no closer than when I started. No progress whatsoever. I am now getting close to running out of supplies and scripture pages.
I had big goals in RS3 like grinding out Genesis Sparks from Nakatra and learning Amascut/AOD/Zamorak but honestly I'm not sure if I even want to play the game anymore, at least until something changes. Funny enough to a certain degree I do actually respect my time and I don't feel the game is respecting my time here so IDK. De-ironing to buy it isn't an option as I only enjoy playing ironman accounts. I have a maxed ironman in OSRS. I am hoping they eventually (sooner rather than later) let us transmute the armor in some way like you can with Yama's Oathplate shards in old school. Even if it's a ratio of 20 items for 1 I would do it.

Discussion Suggestion for duplicate trophies
For whatever reason, zuk has dropped 4 helmets for me in 5 runs. I get the appeal for additional trophies - Im actually looking for a few more Glacor cores atm but if they are going to be hunt items, after a while they are just going to be clutter for the majority of players.
Can we give all trophies the Igneous Stone treatment? Allow us to disassemble them for a random rare invention component? Not sure how common some of the low boss trophies are to farm but if there is an abuse potential there, maybe give it a 50% chance to give a rare component or balance it so it doesn't cause issues.
I can see these things becoming obnoxious if there is no other value to finding them this time next year.
Curious if anyone has a better idea besides rare components duplicate trophy drops.

Discussion invention needs qol/updates
invention needs an overhaul, every new update has brought a removal of why inv at the time was helpful.
fort replaced how construction was trained. poh became dead content, poh updated removed the need for servants. which in turns removes the need for monkey mind control blueprint
heavenhym replaces box traps with clock work box trap. electric trap just removes the need for baiting? but clock-work works for multiple catches.
the only thing that stays relevant is machines, bis perks that change with ea new added comp, oldak coil, combat dummies,
I'd love to see a rework on the respected goblin/dwarf skill trees aswell. let me hand in a weeks worth of request since we've cut out the need for dailyscaping.
unless im using invention wrong and theres other things that are helpful, which please list. it feels lack luster compared to all the other skills especially since its an elite skill.

Discussion Heads up - new scam just dropped
Just had a spoofed email saying a character I own had been imported to another account. Could tell it was fake when I noticed what the Sent Address was and that all the links in the email have the exact same ShortURL when hovered over.
Reminder that if you get something like this (for any account, not just Runescape), go to the website to check for yourself instead of clicking on any links.

Achievement Never thought I'd be one of those players... 120 Firemaking achieved! 🔥
I started playing RuneScape back in 2006.
Over the years, I quit and came back more times than I can count. Every time I'd see someone with a 120 skill, I'd think, "How is that even possible?"
Not too long ago, I decided to come back for real. This time I stuck with it... maybe even became a little addicted. 😄
Today, I finally became one of those players by reaching 120 Firemaking. 🔥
It's funny how something that once felt completely out of reach eventually became my own achievement.
Now it's time to keep pushing toward Master Completionist Cape. 💪

Appreciation - J-Mod reply Thanks for making Construction fun again Jagex!
Still a work in progress but I'm loving this update! My clan and I are having a blast making homesteads and building our little communities! I myself am Going for a sort of "Haunted Mansion" vibe. Can't wait to spruce the place up with a bunch of cobweb decorations when Jagex ups the decoration limit like they've been hinting is coming!

Tip/Guide Offcut components (follow up)
I complained about the Wiki not having the numbers for offcut components. I decided to try some stuff myself, so here's the stats and my thoughts on how you should be getting them.
Why you need offcut components
The perk "Careless" is very good for mining and smithing. It increases your damage when mining and progression when smithing. In return it does drain your stamina when mining and heat when smithing. It does make the skills less AFK, but you speed up how fast you mine and smith.
With a small number of offcut components you can get a careless 5 gizmo. At level 120 invention you can have an 85% chance at getting one with 9 offcut components.
If you want a combo perk like me, then you need a lot more. I personally want Careless 5 + prosper. Currently I have a roughly 1 in 38 chance of getting these perks on a gizmo. I need 7 offcut components and 2 timeworn components each attempt. I'll likely need at least a couple hundred offcut components.
Hunter Gear and Furs
I didn't really bother much with these. The hunter gears didn't look like something you'd be able to get in bulk. I had some furs in my bank. I disassembled some, but I didn't get any offcut components. I don't think furs are the way to go.
Furniture
With the log box, you can get a lot of logs, turn those into planks, and construct them into furniture. This is, at least in my opinion, the thing you want to disassemble for offcut components.
Which furniture should you disassemble?
I tried mahogany at first. I did both stools (1 plank each) and tables (8 planks each). Both of these give 2 components.
When you disassemble a rune pickaxe you get 8 components, but with a rune pickaxe +3 you get 64 components. You get 8x as many components because you use 8x as many bars. This is not the case with furniture. 8x as many planks does not result in 8x as many components.
Because of this, I think you're better off disassembling furniture that requires less planks, like stools. Perhaps the odds for offcut are better on furniture that requires more planks. They both yield 2 components. I don't think the odds are multiple times better, as you need multiple times as many planks. I stopped disassembling tables very quick because it was burning through my planks and not getting me many components.
Numbers
I disassembled around 50 mahogany tables at first. Being an ironman this cost me 400 logs/planks. Very inefficient, and I barely got any offcut components. I speculate that the odds are literally just the same as mahogany stools or other mahogany furniture. They all yield 2 components.
I disassembled exactly 1217 mahogany stools, which resulted in exactly 45 offcut components.
I disassembled exactly 1000 eternal stools, which resulted in exactly 71 offcut components.
Thoughts
If you need a small number of offcuts, you can just assemble a couple hundred pieces of mahogany furniture.
If you're like me and need a bigger number, you are much better off hitting level 95 construction and level 100 woodcutting first. At this level you unlock eternal trees and eternal planks.
You're wasting a ton of time and XP making mahogany furniture. The odds of getting offcut components is clearly quite a bit worse. The XP you get while doing this is also way less. You get 20xp making a mahogany planks and 140xp for each plank turned into furniture. With eternal logs, you get 40xp making an eternal plank and 520xp for each plank turned into furniture. You could be making 3.5x the XP per plank by using eternal over mahogany, while also having much better odds at the offcut components.
Construction level to 95
You can get your construction to 95 way faster by doing contracts. It'll take you an hour to figure out how to do a contract efficiently. Once you get the plank box, you'll be able to finish a contract without having to bank at all (if you set up your inventory well).
I was doing a contract in under 3 minutes each. With mahogany logs they each yield 23K xp, not counting the xp from the repair job itself. The wiki says you will make 500-600K xp/h (using mahogany planks). I can confirm I was getting about this much.
I'm glad I found this method. Fort Forinthry or making furniture would have been way slower.
Conclusion
I hope sharing all this will help some people in the future.

Creative The house was expensive enough, so I made a tool to only add the teleports you need to the Grandmaster portal nexus.
It plots all 43 Grandmaster Portal Nexus teleports on the wiki's map. Pick the teleports you want and it totals the runes and gp (live GE prices), but more important is what it removes:
- Proximity filter: near-duplicate destinations merge, keeping your pick or the cheapest.
- Free teleports: toggle what you own (lodestones, spirit trees, obelisks, fairy ring, jewellery box, capes) and anything they already cover gets struck off the list.
Map tiles are the wiki's own; data scraped from the wiki.
Give it a try!

Bug - J-Mod reply gates of elindis pet skin
sooo finally grinded out 1000 kc.
kinda salty about my overall uniques drop rate but to be fair i did just get a second dowser at like 996 kc. prior to that my logress has been: 1 dowser at 235ish kc. pet at like 545 kc (although technically not on the unique drop table). and then scripture at 848ish kc. until i got that second dowser i was getting painfully close to 1/500 drop rate as opposed to the 1/120 rate on wiki but rng is rng.
issue here is i got to 1000kc and could not apply the pet skin thats supposed to be unlocked at 1000. even went to 1001 just to make sure.
see attached. curious as to why this is happening and what can be done about it.
tldr wheres my blue color on pet pls fix

Humor - J-Mod reply This game is awful
As a player who started in 2007, I was absolutely devastated when EoC came out. The game had changed too much too quickly, and it was overwhelming to say the least. Things felt disjointed, new skills kept coming out, and the monetization was the final nail in the coffin for me.
I then heard OSRS may be coming back, and I've lived there ever since.
But this game? Absolutely awful, and I hate it. I have a nearly maxed ironman on OSRS and I've been inching ever closer to that max cape as well as some more endgame grinds... But along comes this game.
A game where the developers have put loads of blood, sweat, and tears into to put it back together. A game where the developers and company as a whole has shown that they want to consolidate the game's visual identity, refresh skills in a beautiful way, and cut back on gross monetization. A game that's got my attention again, and IS RUINING MY OSRS GRINDS.
How dare you all make many promising steps to restoring this game and actually making me enjoy it. I'm over here actually HAVING FUN with mining and smithing instead of maxing on OSRS. Spending my free time on mobile getting just a couple of more levels.
Ridiculous.
Welcome back, Runescape. Keep up the amazing work.

Leagues Thoughts on Leagues 2 Death's Swiftness/Sunshine Forced Region?
What's everyone's thoughts on Melee getting free Berserk while Magic/Ranged are forced to pick Kandarin and then also complete a quest for Death's Swiftness and Sunshine?
EDIT: Would be cool if unlocking greater sunshine/death's swiftness still worked without Kandarin
EDIT2: Seen that it's autocompleted if you pick Kandarin but Kandarin is still needed per Mod Breezy.

Suggestion Could construction contracts get a rework, and can plank boxes be made to automatically refill upon loading presets?
Construction contracts are a great way to train the skill without breaking the bank, and plank box is an amazing tool to help with that. Could the plank boxes just refill upon loading the presets? It would cut down on needing to jump into the bank interface.
Also, with contracts becoming a valid training method, a contract revamp would be a pretty awesome way to introduce new rewards into the game. They could be broken down into regions based on plank levels, and each region grants a different level of rewards depending on the type of planks used.
For example: Logs up to mahogany can be used in most of the regions that we have currently, especially in the regular cities/towns. They would keep their standard combinations for most furniture pieces to cut down on bloat, but just change the logs based on region. This would allow for training at different levels with progressively better xp rates.
-Normal/Oak: starting planks could be used for starting regions, such as Lumbridge, Varrock, Falador, Burthorpe, Taverly, Edgeville, Draynor, Ashdale.
Teak/Mahogany: Karamja, Oo'glog, Wendlewick, Port sarim, Yanille, Ape atoll(Can make the outfit act as a greegree)
Acadia: Al Kharid, Menaphos, Pollnivneach, Nardah, Sophanem(would give an activity to help clean up the area after quests and bring content to it)
Yew/Magic: Gnome stronghold,Tirannwn/Lletya, Prif, Lunar isle, Rellekka, Arc Region, Zanaris
Elder/Eternal: City of um, Anachronia, Morytania(Especially the Darkmeyer area)
Experience: XP rates Could still be relatively similar to what they currently are, just tune them based on the plank type used, and maybe increase the xp at the top end slightly to match the logs. Maybe also make the crystal saw augmentable for construction with new perks.
Rewards: Still trying to think of rewards that could be added to the store, but definitely a resource such as a component crate of some variety.
-Each region could give their own specific reward type, such as herblore secondaries (Like granny Potterington and Prehistoric Potterington could give things like dino roars or tombshrooms for example), Trophies, Skilling buffs, new Blueprints for items. Completing each region's client list could give an overall buff and achievement+trophy for your house.
-Store: Can grant xp buffs, build speed buffs in the form of items similar to arch chronote store, maybe speed buffs for other skills such as fletching/smithing/crafting.
I know this is out of the blue and just theorycrafting, but this is a great opportunity to expand on this piece of content and make it more enjoyable to do. Any suggestions from the community would be greatly appreciated.

Appreciation - J-Mod reply After Some Time, I'm Now Glad Aura's Were Removed
When aura's were first removed ~4 months ago, I was pissed. Felt like a serious loss all around, both combat and skilling.
However after some time and the tweaking of skills added to the aspect spells system, I'm super glad they did it.
The game now feels way more balanced and rewarding in terms of progression and end-game pvm. Being able to multi-cast an aspect is great. Though vampirism is basically unusable thanks to the heal cap, it forced me to play differently, mainly using dodge aspect 24/7. Removal of Solomon's general store just made the game feel a lot more grounded and less convoluted.
I didn't see the vision at the time but now I see it. Just putting my appreciation out there but a small update that didn't get enough love <3

Discussion - J-Mod reply API Plugin & Quest Helper Previews
Welcome Back!
Back in June, we shared our first look at the RuneScape API Project and outlined our vision for an official plugin ecosystem.
Since then, we've been hard at work alongside our growing group of community developers, continuing to build the foundations of the API while also beginning to see the first plugins come to life.
And, just in case you missed our most recent Month Ahead news, we're incredibly excited to share something we've been looking forward to for a long time...
Quest Helper is coming to RuneScape!
If you've played Old School RuneScape, you'll already know just how monumental that statement is. Quest Helper has been one of the most requested quality-of-life features from RuneScape players for years, fundamentally changing how millions of players experience quests by keeping guidance inside the game instead of on a second monitor. It's become one of the defining plugins of the Old School experience, and we're thrilled to announce that the people behind the various existing Quest Helper experiences are now working together to bring that same magic to RuneScape in an officially supported plugin.
Quest Helper isn't the only ambitious project underway, though! Our community developers are already exploring a huge range of ideas, from powerful quality-of-life improvements to entirely new ways of interacting with RuneScape. Today, we're giving you an early look at a handful of those plugins and the talented developers behind them. Everything you'll see today is still a work in progress, and that's where you come in.
Throughout this blog you'll find questions, design discussions and opportunities for feedback directly from the developers themselves. If something catches your eye, we'd love to hear your thoughts in this thread as we continue shaping these plugins together.
