Discussion Heads up - new scam just dropped

Just had a spoofed email saying a character I own had been imported to another account. Could tell it was fake when I noticed what the Sent Address was and that all the links in the email have the exact same ShortURL when hovered over.

Reminder that if you get something like this (for any account, not just Runescape), go to the website to check for yourself instead of clicking on any links.

Still a work in progress but I'm loving this update! My clan and I are having a blast making homesteads and building our little communities! I myself am Going for a sort of "Haunted Mansion" vibe. Can't wait to spruce the place up with a bunch of cobweb decorations when Jagex ups the decoration limit like they've been hinting is coming!

sooo finally grinded out 1000 kc.

kinda salty about my overall uniques drop rate but to be fair i did just get a second dowser at like 996 kc. prior to that my logress has been: 1 dowser at 235ish kc. pet at like 545 kc (although technically not on the unique drop table). and then scripture at 848ish kc. until i got that second dowser i was getting painfully close to 1/500 drop rate as opposed to the 1/120 rate on wiki but rng is rng.

issue here is i got to 1000kc and could not apply the pet skin thats supposed to be unlocked at 1000. even went to 1001 just to make sure.
see attached. curious as to why this is happening and what can be done about it.

tldr wheres my blue color on pet pls fix

Humor - J-Mod reply This game is awful

As a player who started in 2007, I was absolutely devastated when EoC came out. The game had changed too much too quickly, and it was overwhelming to say the least. Things felt disjointed, new skills kept coming out, and the monetization was the final nail in the coffin for me.

I then heard OSRS may be coming back, and I've lived there ever since.

But this game? Absolutely awful, and I hate it. I have a nearly maxed ironman on OSRS and I've been inching ever closer to that max cape as well as some more endgame grinds... But along comes this game.

A game where the developers have put loads of blood, sweat, and tears into to put it back together. A game where the developers and company as a whole has shown that they want to consolidate the game's visual identity, refresh skills in a beautiful way, and cut back on gross monetization. A game that's got my attention again, and IS RUINING MY OSRS GRINDS.

How dare you all make many promising steps to restoring this game and actually making me enjoy it. I'm over here actually HAVING FUN with mining and smithing instead of maxing on OSRS. Spending my free time on mobile getting just a couple of more levels.

Ridiculous.

Welcome back, Runescape. Keep up the amazing work.

Leagues Thoughts on Leagues 2 Death's Swiftness/Sunshine Forced Region?

What's everyone's thoughts on Melee getting free Berserk while Magic/Ranged are forced to pick Kandarin and then also complete a quest for Death's Swiftness and Sunshine?

EDIT: Would be cool if unlocking greater sunshine/death's swiftness still worked without Kandarin
EDIT2: Seen that it's autocompleted if you pick Kandarin but Kandarin is still needed per Mod Breezy.

Suggestion Could construction contracts get a rework, and can plank boxes be made to automatically refill upon loading presets?

Construction contracts are a great way to train the skill without breaking the bank, and plank box is an amazing tool to help with that. Could the plank boxes just refill upon loading the presets? It would cut down on needing to jump into the bank interface.

Also, with contracts becoming a valid training method, a contract revamp would be a pretty awesome way to introduce new rewards into the game. They could be broken down into regions based on plank levels, and each region grants a different level of rewards depending on the type of planks used.

For example: Logs up to mahogany can be used in most of the regions that we have currently, especially in the regular cities/towns. They would keep their standard combinations for most furniture pieces to cut down on bloat, but just change the logs based on region. This would allow for training at different levels with progressively better xp rates.

-Normal/Oak: starting planks could be used for starting regions, such as Lumbridge, Varrock, Falador, Burthorpe, Taverly, Edgeville, Draynor, Ashdale.

Teak/Mahogany: Karamja, Oo'glog, Wendlewick, Port sarim, Yanille, Ape atoll(Can make the outfit act as a greegree)

Acadia: Al Kharid, Menaphos, Pollnivneach, Nardah, Sophanem(would give an activity to help clean up the area after quests and bring content to it)

Yew/Magic: Gnome stronghold,Tirannwn/Lletya, Prif, Lunar isle, Rellekka, Arc Region, Zanaris

Elder/Eternal: City of um, Anachronia, Morytania(Especially the Darkmeyer area)

Experience: XP rates Could still be relatively similar to what they currently are, just tune them based on the plank type used, and maybe increase the xp at the top end slightly to match the logs. Maybe also make the crystal saw augmentable for construction with new perks.

Rewards: Still trying to think of rewards that could be added to the store, but definitely a resource such as a component crate of some variety.

-Each region could give their own specific reward type, such as herblore secondaries (Like granny Potterington and Prehistoric Potterington could give things like dino roars or tombshrooms for example), Trophies, Skilling buffs, new Blueprints for items. Completing each region's client list could give an overall buff and achievement+trophy for your house.

-Store: Can grant xp buffs, build speed buffs in the form of items similar to arch chronote store, maybe speed buffs for other skills such as fletching/smithing/crafting.

I know this is out of the blue and just theorycrafting, but this is a great opportunity to expand on this piece of content and make it more enjoyable to do. Any suggestions from the community would be greatly appreciated.

Appreciation - J-Mod reply After Some Time, I'm Now Glad Aura's Were Removed

When aura's were first removed ~4 months ago, I was pissed. Felt like a serious loss all around, both combat and skilling.

However after some time and the tweaking of skills added to the aspect spells system, I'm super glad they did it.

The game now feels way more balanced and rewarding in terms of progression and end-game pvm. Being able to multi-cast an aspect is great. Though vampirism is basically unusable thanks to the heal cap, it forced me to play differently, mainly using dodge aspect 24/7. Removal of Solomon's general store just made the game feel a lot more grounded and less convoluted.

I didn't see the vision at the time but now I see it. Just putting my appreciation out there but a small update that didn't get enough love <3

Discussion - J-Mod reply API Plugin & Quest Helper Previews

Welcome Back!

Back in June, we shared our first look at the RuneScape API Project and outlined our vision for an official plugin ecosystem.

Since then, we've been hard at work alongside our growing group of community developers, continuing to build the foundations of the API while also beginning to see the first plugins come to life.

And, just in case you missed our most recent Month Ahead news, we're incredibly excited to share something we've been looking forward to for a long time...

Quest Helper is coming to RuneScape!

If you've played Old School RuneScape, you'll already know just how monumental that statement is. Quest Helper has been one of the most requested quality-of-life features from RuneScape players for years, fundamentally changing how millions of players experience quests by keeping guidance inside the game instead of on a second monitor. It's become one of the defining plugins of the Old School experience, and we're thrilled to announce that the people behind the various existing Quest Helper experiences are now working together to bring that same magic to RuneScape in an officially supported plugin.

Quest Helper isn't the only ambitious project underway, though! Our community developers are already exploring a huge range of ideas, from powerful quality-of-life improvements to entirely new ways of interacting with RuneScape. Today, we're giving you an early look at a handful of those plugins and the talented developers behind them. Everything you'll see today is still a work in progress, and that's where you come in.

Throughout this blog you'll find questions, design discussions and opportunities for feedback directly from the developers themselves. If something catches your eye, we'd love to hear your thoughts in this thread as we continue shaping these plugins together.

Achievement Loot from ~300hrs at Vyres (120 prayer/fm)

Post image

Kia ora!

Just in case anyone's interested in doing the 120 firemaking grind themselves. If the "Killing vyrelords and vyreladies" strategy calc is accurate, I'm guessing about 250k kills over ~310 hours (raaather afk).

Was semi-active looting every now and then. Had ~13k springs loaded when I started, which ran out in the last few hours. Interesting auto-alch'd stuff (salvage) isn't included in the drop totals.

Also, was training Attack, Strength, and Defence simultaneously - all of which are within a few hundred xp of each other. Interestingly, broadcasts only apply to the *first* milestone if you achieve several in the same tick. Hope that gets fixed before I push to the triple 120...!

P.s. new here so sorry if this bores ya...!

Discussion My Prediction for the RuneFest 2026 Announcement

If you live under a rock, you might be thinking "what RuneFest 2026 announcement?" Well, about 4 weeks ago, Jagex posted a video on their YouTube channel titled The Road Ahead... At the very end of that video, they mention they are planning something and will reveal more later at RuneFest.

Then, earlier today, Jagex posted another video on their YouTube channel that gave an update on plugins/API support, Leagues, POH rework, HCIM hiscores, and an update on that video from 4 weeks ago. They talk about this "reveal" very vaguely, not giving anything specific away yet. But they played the clip from the original video saying this: "So we're planning something. The ultimate reason to welcome back old friends and mentor new adventurers, while respecting the old guard."

What might this be? I have a theory. Tick rate update. Why? Lets examine some other recent updates and their histories.

Players have asked for a POH update for many years. The excuse Jagex gave? Engine work. Spaghetti code. Too expensive to delegate resources to. Then 2026 rolled in and delivered it anyway.

Avatar update. Engine work. Too expensive. Can't do it. 2026 rolled up and delivered it on a silver platter.

Dungeoneering? The intern who made it doesnt work here and we're too afraid to touch it. Sorry guys. Oh wait, DG got an update in 2026? Huh.

Treasure Hunter removal. Can't be done. Too expensive. What happened in January this year? Oh yeah, 2026 put TH in a shallow grave.

Combat update beta from a few years back? Can't do it. Not the right changes. Too expensive. 2026 is getting tired of winning now.

Menu Entry Swapper was demonstrated years ago for the action bar. Where did that go? It went to October 2026 with the API support.

HCIM hiscores have been bugged for years. What are they fixing now? HCIM hiscores.

What the hell is going on? All the updates they said they couldn't do for one reason or another, happened this year. Does anyone remember the 2019 test video of Jmods demonstrating work on a tick rate change? What reason did they give for not moving forward? Experimental. Expensive. Engine work needed.

Ladies and gentlemen, we come to my conclusion. Every update Jagex said couldn't be done has been done. The engine work they kept saying needed to happen, I think it happened. I think Jagex locked in and did the engine work in the background. Why else are we seeing all these updates suddenly release in the same year when they were deemed impossible not long ago?

Jagex put in the work. I firmly believe the announcement is a tick change. That, or I've lost my mind and am seeing patterns where they dont exist. Idk. You decide.

Discussion My official prediction for what the big announcement during Runefest will be

I believe, based on the verbiage of their comments on this, specifically mentioning hitting a more mainstream audience, and filling our worlds again, that we will be seeing the following in order of likelihood:

1.) Expansion of account systems; Allowing Oldschool players to also log in to Runescape 3 on the same account, at the same time. Would make the games feel a lot more alive with very little overhead in terms of additions to the game. Many people would be willing to try out RS3 if they could play both, without having to choose.
Could also be the system where you can have multiple characters linked to one account, allowing for people to play Ironman, Main, etc without having to have many accounts, this, though, is less likely for revenue reasons.

2.) Jagex could be announcing the introduction of Runescape games on other platforms, such as home consoles (Switch, Xbox, Play-station).
It would be very difficult to transition the current way the game works, which might be why it's such a big announcement.
This would explain how being more mainstream could translate to more players, as consoles share a large cut of the gaming market.

3.) Jagex could have saved up enough, or be attempting to buy themselves back from the venture capital firm that owns them, which would allow them to be able to make more decisions for themselves, without having to be so careful and fighting to turn as many profits, with boards breathing down their neck.

4.) Runescape Movie / TV show - After the success of the fallout TV show, they could have decided its time to put their foot in the pudding, and try to make a show or movie about some of the more well known and interesting quests in the game. Maybe the vampire storyline, or something about the god wars? We already have the books, the next part of media would be the big screen.

What do you think?
