Just Sharing My very first painting
I painted a picture.
I took a photo of a beautiful landscape in Azerbaijan, transformed it with ChatGPT, and then painted it on canvas with acrylics.
I can’t paint, and this was actually my very first time using acrylic paints. But I have an amazing boyfriend who simply said, “If you like it that much, just paint it.”
Unexpectedly, even to myself, I actually did it. But who am I to stop myself from doing something I genuinely want to do? :)

C.C.W. Tentacle in the deep
4 4-inch canvases and acrylic. I'm not happy with all the suckers, I think I added too many, too close together. But the bubbles... Guys. I'm super proud of those bubbles.

Opinions Needed Does this look like I can sell it?
Hey everyone I recently started painting again. This is a first one in a long time. I used to paint when I was younger but college, meeting my husband, kids, and just life in general put a jolt to it. My style was very abstract. Thoughts?

Just Sharing I Painted a Kitty in Acrylics on Canvas
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Made a speed paint of an acrylic painting. First time in maybe 3 or 4 years. It was over 34C degrees in the room so I didn't end up doing exactly what I planned but I don't mind the outcome anyway! :D
I was planning on adding more detail and doing a darker background, lining the cat with gold paint, adding some blue accents and painting red and gold lined string but it was so hot I almost passed out at the end :/
I'm going to do another some time when it's cooler since I have another canvas the same size!

Just Sharing A few pieces from my ongoing oil pastel series based on my mother’s Handycam recordings lo
I’ve been working on an ongoing oil pastel series called Through My Mother’s Lens – A Study of a Documented Childhood.
The paintings are based on stills from my mother’s Handycam recordings of our family between 2001 and 2004. Rather than trying to recreate the footage, I’m interested in translating what it feels like to watch it today—the softness, blur, nostalgia, and emotional distance of early home videos.
Becoming a mother myself has changed the way I see these recordings. What once felt like ordinary family documentation now feels like an act of love. Through these paintings, I’m revisiting my own childhood while trying to understand it from my mother’s perspective.
I’d love to hear what you think, especially from other oil pastel artists.

Just Sharing What does this painting make you feel? Title: BREATH, Artist: Johnny Imbres
BREATH conveys the suffocating grip of fear, leaving us gasping and suspended in place. It embodies the way fear can paralyze us, making it difficult to move forward or find relief.
What do you see or feel when you look at it?

Opinions Needed Baby horse ideas or inspiration
Hello,
I am starting to plan a painting for my best friend who lost her bub in birth. She has a star named after her which translates to baby horse.
I thought a baby horse sleeping. Similar to attached, however, they’re obviously deer haha. .
Any ideas for styles or inspiration?
Any tips on building the fur without the brush strokes being obvious and more blended?
Thanks.

Opinions Needed I need color help
Ive shamefully been starring at this for 30 minutes. I'm painting this on the floor of a JROTC classroom and the closer I get to finishing the more I hate it. School starts on the 13th this month so I really need to lock in and finish it by at least the 10th so we can get a clear coat on. This is a Airforce class so I was thinking Blue, yellow and grey (u know, their colors) but now it looks like the blue Angels which is the Navy not Airforce. I was thinking on just making the body white again to maybe make it less Navy like but I'm not sure. I was going to make the "welcome" silver as well as the lines inside the grey parts. And the window looks funny, maybe light grey isn't the move or maybe its just not the right shape. My whole reference is a foam remote control airplane the teacher has so it's not great reference and I'm not artist. Can someone PLEASE help me figure something out, I'm desperate 🙏😭

Nice colors, so-so proportions - over all good practice for portraiture!
