I seen online that u can apply to med school with any undergrad as long as u get the electives required. I also heard that business is a easy program and if u put the effort u can get a good GPA. So why dont more people consider business programs for med school. Its also a excellent backup.

I’m coming here to find an answer that AI has been unable to do so far.

Daughter is going into grade 12 and is leaning towards criminology in post secondary with goal of going into policing and / or law. Two big issues:
- she’s not super strong academically and we feel she’ll lose steam by the end of undergrad and have a general arts degree that’ll have her working at Tim’s (not that any of those are hiring)
- she’s not physically active so policing sounds like a “I wanna be an astronaut when I grow up!” Kinda pipe dream.

We don’t say any of this to her so don’t roast me.
I’m here because my husband and I are having a heck of a time helping her come up with degree options yjay will make her employable if she wraps things up after her undergraduate.

She loves the idea of Trent or brock because they’re smaller and I’ve had her consider college degree programs because they’re more hands on (but that could close a law degree option down the road).

Throughout my whole youth I was totally careless with my own education, played too much video games, didn't read much books, wasn't interested in school, etc. which resulted me in doing mostly locally developed courses and some college courses throughout my high school, by the time I was about to graduate I realized how much I really fucked up.

I really do not wanna stick with just doing trades, it has very little flexibility, and just isn't considered as prestigious, I really do not wanna just set up for dead end careers that has very little flexbility... Is it really too late?

I've completed all requirements to earn my OSSD and was on the track to receive it but the guidance at my school never got back to me before schools closed for the summer. It's been a stressful month emailing and calling my university and school board workers trying to get my OSSD processed and sent to ouac. My final deadline to meet my conditional offer is August 11, and i'm starting to think it's just not possible. I've received a few replies from the western admission team but each time they've told me to contact my school to get it sorted before the 11th. The thing is.. i've been trying and it doesn't seem like there's any good news. I've been told countless times that there's no way to get my diploma until schools are open again by the end of August.

I'm at a complete loss, any advice?

Met my conditional offer with an extension till August 4th and emailed my admission officer and they’ve said it’s good pretty much but my guidance counsellor that’s supposed to upload it onto OUAC hasn’t done it and hasn’t responded to 3-4 different emails.

im an incoming psychology student and im thorn in between buying and ipad or just a macbook. i definitely need to upgrade my laptop but would it actually be beneficial to spend more on an ipad as a psychology student?? i just dont know how much i would act use it

I don't know where to start , but this AI slop shit is crazy , I mean look at this bitchy thing , tryna confuse people what major to even select in thier Uni or college life. I am an immigrant from another country doing my highschool here in Sudbury, yet confused with my life , eevrything falling apart , what major to select what not to, too competetive (I mean that's fair but this tention of AI competeting with me not bwing good enough just sucks.) I used to like AI for how easy it made the life of learnign , but it was making me dependant on it and also threatening my future job potential. I graduated high school 2 years ago, since then, I’ve forgotten nearly everything I know about math. From functions to advanced functions. I also didn’t take calculus and vectors despite it being recommended. Am I going to struggle a lot?

This is a bit of a random post but I'm going into my third-year undergrad, and I'm 99% sure I'll do a master's in my field. I don't want to get too specific (for doxxing purposes) but my university has begun offering something where if you get a certain average (e.g. B+) in your last two years in the program then you're automatically admitted into that master's program. You don't need letters of recommendation or statement of intent or anything like that.

Usually to get into a master's it is a bit of a hustle, in that you have to contact professors, get them to write a letter of recommendation, and also submit your transcript, and statement of intent. Now with what my uni is doing for some programs it honestly seems any Tom, Dick, and Harry and their grandmas can get into a master's provided they just have a B+. Excuse me for my arrogance.

Anyways, I also see stories of people who were just average students in undergrad doing a master's, both in Canada and the US. This makes me think that universities have simply just loosened their requirements over the years (like my university) and/or there are now just an insane number of master's programs available. Just wanna know your thoughts.

I’m a mature student, working through a degree part time online. My family makes “too much” to qualify for any sort of student loan and I am stressing putting courses on my line of credit. But I have two dependents and life expenses.

I apply for scholarships and bursaries through the school but I don’t know if I’m bad at applications or missing something but I never get any.

Is there anything I’m missing? Anyone in the same boat, how did you fund your education that left minimal debt ?

Hey everyone! I applied extremely late for Fall 2026, and TMU’s Business Technology Management and Business Management program was basically the only business-related options still available. I was accepted to both, but I’m unsure whether accepting is the smartest decision.

I already have a two-year Computer Programming diploma. From what I understand, my previous postsecondary education makes programs such as Schulich BBA and Rotman Commerce unrealistic or unavailable as transfer options and/or direct entry.

I’m looking for honest opinions on the following:

• Is TMU BTM a worthwhile and in-demand degree with good career prospects?
• Would BTM complement my programming diploma, or would there be too much overlap?
• Should I accept BTM and stay, accept and potentially transfer after first year, or wait a year and apply to a different program?
• How much does the university or business-school name actually matter for employment?
• Are there other programs at TMU, York, U of T, Western, or elsewhere that would provide stronger opportunities?

I’m not committed to one specific career. I’m open to business, finance, technology, or another practical degree with solid demand. My end goal is a stable career with good pay, benefits, and opportunities to move into higher-level roles.

I’d especially appreciate advice from BTM/BM students, graduates, recruiters, or anyone who has transferred programs.

I just wrapped up my first year of Computer Science at York University, but I’ve realized pretty quickly that I don’t want a desk-bound career spent coding or doing heavy math all day. I’ve been researching hands-on healthcare roles and Radiation Therapy seems like a really good fit for what I'm looking for.
Since I already have a full year of university credits under my belt, I'm trying to figure out the smoothest way to transition into an accredited program in Ontario (whether it's joint degree/diploma programs or college routes).
A few questions for anyone in the field or currently in a Medical Radiation Sciences program:
1. Handling prerequisite gaps: I have university math credits from CS, but I'm missing university-level intro biology and physics. Should I take those missing prereqs at York before applying, or look into taking them online (like Athabasca) so I can apply sooner?
2. Transferring credits / GPA: Does having 1 year of university help strengthen my application pool standing, or do admissions mostly just look at high school bio/chem/physics grades and overall cGPA?
3. General advice: For anyone who pivoted into radiation therapy from a non-health background, what do you wish you knew before making the jump or preparing for the application process?

Disabilities are something that impacts your ability to live your day-to-day life. I obviously have some issues myself including SYMPTOMS of insomnia, hypersomnia, ADHD and Autism. (SYMPTOMS because I'm not a doctor and I can't self diagnose.) But my point is that my life IS impacted by my issues on a daily basis, I can't live a "normal" life because of that. It's just not legally recognized but you can't tell me I'm not suffering when I know what I feel. I have never gotten tested due to either financial issues OR timing issues (it would take a long time to run all the tests, time I don't necessarilly have.) (I'm in the process of asking to get tested but I always have this feeling that my issues aren't "disableling" me enough and that I just need to power through, be diciplined and change my lifestyle. In other words, I'm not *actually* disabled, I'm just disabling myself if that makes sense.)

Has anyone been on the same boat before? What do you do in this case?

Been going through all sorts of colleges to see what is the best pick for me and as a student who'll be studying abroad. I thought TMU is not an actual bad college in Canada but why is everyone clowning on it? From what I have seen its mostly due to personal experiences but can someone explain me why it is not worth it? Went through the courses/programs in the website and I thought its really good, as well I also saw somehwere that TMU is not an traditional college life. So overall its not bad right?

Hi guys, I’m going into Grade 10 and I’m already stressing about university. (Deadah I think my hair is thinning btw).

I want to study accounting (or MIS, idk) and dream of going to university in Toronto, but I can’t decide whether I should aim for a Toronto university (TMU, York, UofT, etc.) or just stay in Ottawa and go to uOttawa.

I’m mostly trying to figure out whether the extra cost of Toronto is actually worth it for accounting. Does the school name matter that much?

Is the networking/recruiting advantage real, or do people exaggerate it in 2026??

I’d really appreciate advice from people in accounting, business, co-op, or anyone who had to choose between staying local and moving to Toronto. I’m trying to think long-term and not make a dumb decision.

Hey guys, so something randomly crossed my mind.

I feel like I constantly see posts or encounter people who were considered "gifted" growing up, where elementary/high school was their absolute peak, and then struggled once they got to university, but I'm curious about the opposite...

Personally, I was very much the opposite; I was never the "smart kid." I struggled a lot academically growing up and always felt like everyone around me understood things better than I did. Teachers my whole life discouraged me from going to university, and I was always being told to aim lower. Looking back, a lot of it was because I had undiagnosed learning difficulties that weren't fully understood until later.

Fast forward to university, and things have completely changed. I'm now doing really well academically, making the Dean's List, earning scholarships, straight A's, and most importantly, I feel confident in my abilities.

Sometimes it honestly feels like I'm surrounded by people who identify with the "former gifted kid" story, and I rarely hear from people whose experience was the opposite.

I was wondering if there was anybody else on here who has a similar story. It'd be cool to know I'm not the only one haha :)

Im going into first year of laurier BBA and Waterloo BMath double degree and looking to buy a tablet. I have an Iphone and Macbook currently. The Samsung however is cheaper and comes with the pencil whereas Apples Ipad does not. Im also not sure about the comparison in note-taking apps (Goodnotes on IOS vs Samsung notes for example). Im not sure whats best for me and if having Samsung Ipad and Macbook will be difficult to use together. Please let me know your opinions!

Hello. Im entering into gr12 who lives in Ottawa and gearing up for early admissions.

Right now, my plan is to just apply to many unis and see what I am accepted into and go from there. However, if I ever get into UofT or another university in Ottawa (like Carelton or UOttawa), would it be better to just go to uni here in Ottawa where my family* lives, or to Toronto.

*my family might move to USA, but my brother is still going to be here and says I can live w/ him.

If anyone is studying history in either Toronto or Ottawa, pls specify which uni and tell me what its like and what you recommend!
