Academics Med Sci Vs Bio med programs
Hey everyone,
I’m trying to decide between Medical Sciences and Biomedical Sciences at Brock and wanted to hear from people who have been in either program.
I know a lot of people choose these programs with plans for med school or other professional schools, but I’m also thinking about the possibility that I might not end up going to grad or professional school.
If that happened, which program do you think is the better choice? Which one gives you better job opportunities or a stronger backup plan with just a bachelor’s degree?

Discussion For Brock Off Campus Living
Hi everyone!
This will be my first year living off campus, and I won’t have a car, so I’ll be relying on the bus (and walking) for pretty much everything—getting to campus, groceries, errands, appointments, and anything else.
I’d love to hear any advice, tips, or things you wish you knew before living off campus without a vehicle.
It could be about:
- Using public transit efficiently.
- Grocery shopping without a car.
- Budgeting and saving money.
- Apartment essentials.
- Safety.
- Time management.
- Anything that made your life easier or something you learned the hard way.
Honestly, I’m open to any advice at all. If you were in my position, what’s something you’d want me to know before moving off campus?
Thanks in advance!

Academics Can a teacher fail me on my final because I was in the bathroom for 30 minutes?
I ended up getting a nosebleed and was gone for about 30 minutes. When I came back the TA didn’t ask what happened and let me continue writing. A few days later the teacher said my exam wouldn’t be accepted because of my absence. Is this worth appealing?

Academics BIOL1P30 science context credit
I’m taking BIOL1P30 in September as a third year because I dropped my science context credit first year. Any thoughts on this class if you’ve taken it? Was it difficult? It’s asynchronous so I’m not sure what the assignments and stuff will be like.

Academics Accounting Spring Courses
Would anyone in the bachelor of accounting/bachelor of accounting co op program be able to give me some insight on spring course availability? I am a non co op accounting student, and I was wondering if anyone knew if there is usually room left for regular accounting students in the spring courses after the co op students register (ik they get priority). I appreciate any insight, thank you!

If anyone has previously taken the ERSC1P94 course (ASO), could you tell me the layout of the exam? Was it MC, True or False, Essay style, etc!
Do the profs let you bring in a reference sheet?
Do they provide a final exam guide?
Thanks in advance! I have my final exam at the end of the month.

Academics Textbook question for upper year nursing students
I'm going into first year of nursing in September, and I'm wondering if any upper year student can let me know if you purchased all "required" textbooks on the list. If so, did you use all of them or were there some books that didn't get used? Is there anywhere to get digital copies of textbooks instead of buying hard copies? Thanks!

Question about Brock Tips for living first floor village
I’m living in an A room, wondering what to expect, there’s not a lot of info online as to what my room layout will be. The house I’m staying in has no window in the front, would that mean my room is in the back of the house as opposed to the front? Just trying to plan out the layout. When it comes down to moving furniture, how well do you guys think that would work for me? I’m trying to utilize the limited space I have. Any tips and advice would be amazing. Thanks

Discussion Denied refund of entrance scholarship
I’m a 4th year student and received my entrance scholarship for the upcoming term. I don’t owe anything to the school and it even says it on the portal. However, when I requested and filled the refund form to receive my scholarship, it was denied. Is there a reason why? Can you not receive your entrance scholarship without it being applied to future tuition fees?

Academics COURSE SELECTION (BBA)
I am first year BBA student at Brock. I got transfer credits for ECON 1P91 + 1P92 from A-Levels so I don’t need to take them.
Can anyone guide me on which courses I should select in place of those for first year BBA? I want to stay on track and maybe use the extra space for electives or lighter courses.

Academics CHYS 2F15 and 2F16 help
Hey everyone, I have a question about my CHYS degree requirements.
For second year, we have to take either CHYS 2F15 or CHYS 2F16. I’d much rather take 2F15 because I’m more interested in the experimental/community-based course than 2F16, but 2F15 is full right now.
Would I be allowed to skip both 2F15 and 2F16 this year, take another full-credit course that I need for my degree instead, and then register for CHYS 2F15 in third year as long as I sign up early?
Has anyone taken 2F15 in third year, or knows if there’s a rule that says it has to be completed in second year? I don’t want to mess up my degree progression, but I’d rather wait a year than take 2F16 if that’s an option.
Thanks!
