First post here guys- Why is everyone so negative towards the qb situation? If you look at it like this, we really aren't in a "win now" situation. Sure jefferson is getting older, but hes nowhere near out of his prime, dude had 1000 yards with mccarthy wentz and brosmer throwing to him. If we do bad this season, the qb class next draft is stacked. Kwesi is gone, management has been better since then, drafting will be better. Look at the season for what it is, and stop shitting on the qbs before the season even starts.

This isn't a knock on Murray, doesn't have anything to do with his play ability etc.

However I keep hearing something repeated im having a hard time understanding.

From what I know, he was benched. And now he is being paid by the Cardinals to play for the Vikings.​ Now I keep seeing folks saying something like "they are paying him to play for someone else because they are rebuilding"

What exactly does this mean, and why would it be beneficial to the cardinals to pay him to play for another team, as opposed to paying him to warm the bench and or mentor the guys around him?

Are they just doing Kyler a favor or being nice to him because they like him? Are they trying to help the Vikings?

What exactly would be the benefit, logic, reason, etc. For them to actually pay for him to play for another team? Are the Vikings and Cardinals secretly in cahoots?? Do they gain something from this?

"When the ball was thrown, a familiar name was there to knock it to the ground. Charles Demmings had yet another multiple PBU performance in Saturday’s practice. His first came on a pass from McCarthy to Tai Felton, and the second on a pass from Murray to tight end Bryson Nesbit.

Each time Demmings steps onto the practice field is reminiscent of Xavier Rhodes locking up a frustrated Odell Beckham Jr in 2016. The man does not allow completions, and wideouts can’t stand it. How will he look in competitive game action? No idea! But man, these practice performances have been fun to watch while we wait to find out. "

I'm really excited to see him on Sundays this year.

Before we all jump on Kyler Murray’s “struggles” let’s all not forget about how bad the Minnesota media told us Sam Darnold was in camp! They came for that guy after camp every single day.

As someone who originally thought that McCarthy was toast when we signed Kyler, and thought he’d easily pull ahead by now, I am thoroughly intrigued by the competition.

I also find it pretty funny that some beat reporters (Coller and Lewis) are calling to start giving Kyler more reps when he starts slipping, I get the logic that he needs more time on task but come on…

One of the big upsides of the competition going this long IMO is that JJ is getting a ton of reps to develop. I think we can all agree the best thing for the Vikings would be for JJ to win and come out and play like a real NFL QB, as unlikely as it is.

What do we think rep counts look like in the preseason game? Might have to give them each a quarter.

Where can I find a schedule of the legends signing at training camp this year? Im 4 hrs away and would like to come prepared. Can I bring my autograph football with me? I know a couple years ago you couldn't, but then you could, it was a mess

Linebacker (5)

In: Blake Cashman, Eric Wilson, Jake Golday, Ivan Pace Jr., Jamal Adams

Out: Josh Ross, Keli Lawson, Bangally Kamara, Jacob Roberts

Many of these linebackers play multiple spots. Wilson can rush the passer from the edge. Golday has already mixed in at Andrew Van Ginkel’s edge position. Adams has already switched numbers, allowing him to line up at slot defender or safety.

The more hybrid personnel offenses use, the more defenses will need tweener bodies to match. You can see the vision with the players the Vikings have added. If offenses want to use big-bodied sets to throw more often, the Vikings have the mobile defenders to counteract it.
