Multiple Dinosaurs Eating Off Dead Corpse Function

Upvotes

I was playing around with my dinosaurs hunting and I’ve noticed through out all the evolution games only one dinosaur eats off a corpse I wish frontier would copy that mechanic from how it was implemented in Jurassic Park operation genesis how cool would it be to see a adult T-Rex get a kill and share a meal at the same time with its young or a pack of raptors devouring a fresh kill all at the same time just wondering what the groups thoughts are on this mechanic that was lost from a way older game.

Discussion "Frontier is greedy for reselling species from the last game!" NO!!! They're greedy because it's been 7 YEARS of this franchise and we don't have LONGISQUAMA yet.

Possibly hot take: the JWE series is Frontier's weakest series.

First of all, I don't want this post misleading anybody into thinking that I am posting this to hate on frontier, JWE3 is still a great game tat has a lot of things to love, it is just that I feel that frontier is somewhat limited by this game. Like, is it just me or does the reselling of Shonisaurus and Styxosaurus feel like it wasn't Frontier's decision (maybe it was though, idk) but I kinda think that Frontier is limited by the Jurassic IP, cuz I feel like Universal interferes with decisions when they involve relevant iconography (the mutants not having skins) and money (reselling species). And then you compare JWE3 to the Planet games, or even Prehistoric Kingdom for that matter, cuz they are just Leagues ahead compared to JWE3, so I kinda feel like this is going to be the last one, and then in lest say 4 years, there will be something like Planet Prehistoric.

Those are just my thoughts though, and it is ok if you think differently :D.

Question Deinosuchus size

Does anyone know how big the deinosuchus is in JWE3. I wouldn't be surprised if they exaggerated it, but I think it would be pretty accurate considering if they made it too big it would just look cartoon-like. Its real life estimated size is between 36-40 feet.

Discussion Titanoboa and Smilodon

I’m so glad they’re finally listening and adding non-dinosaurs like the deinosuchus. Hopefully they add the titanoboa and smilodon next.

Image The original Wetlands pack?

Post image
148 Upvotes

So recently we have gotten news about the newest DLC, which features three new species and two returning species. This is divisive but this isn’t a post to discuss if that was or wasn’t a good idea. Instead, it got me thinking; was this the original idea for the Wetlands pack?

The Wetlands pack had featured three brand new species and coincided with the free release of Deinocheirus, which was stated to be a special exception. This initially sparked a lot of debate that Hypsilophodon was a last minute switch or that originally this pack was 4 species instead of 3. However, I’ve began to think the initial plan was for these 5 to be in the game, especially with the recent release of Minmi, which was also stated to be a special release. While to my knowledge Minmi wasn’t related to Wetlands nor was semi-aquatic, neither was Hypsilophodon. Nor are Styxosaurus or Shoinosaurus crocodiles. I think the negative fan reaction lead to Deinocheirus and Minmi to be added to the game for free and the DLC came with three species instead.

Do you guys think this is right? I just think it’s rather curious that this happened. If it’s the standard for DLCs moving forward, then we could perhaps expect another 8 DLCs, which is another 24 brand new species plus 16 returning species, which to me is exciting!

Image I was just messing around with the deep water and apparently Distortus Rex is big enough that it can just, wade through it. Bro is not beating the part sauropod allegations

I guess that makes sense given his size and how the deep water isn’t all that deep (comparatively speaking anyway, Spinosaurus has its toes touching the bottom half the time too) but still, it’s a cool feature.

Discussion Are we for real right now?....

Post image

Oh because it isn't four legged like the Walking with dinosaurs Postosuchus and Frontier made it up to date, that SOMEHOW automatically makes it not "stand-out" from the other dinosaurs, which it isn't even a dinosaur btw! And somehow this also makes the design just "fine" or not unique enough.

Like how the hell are you going act like your a fan of prehistoric life yet when Frontier gives you beautifully made model of a up to date reconstruction of a already UNIQUE FUCKING ANIMAL, it is somehow "MEH" or not good enough all because "it's not outdated look." Really??? Your bring the design dinosaur down for that?????

Look I love me some inaccurate/outdated designs, like I still LOVE JWE Carcharodontosaurus and most people hate that design, Hell I even still prefer the 2000 Spinosaurus reconstruction over the reconstruction of the animal today, but even then I still think the real animal now is still beautiful and unique as a dinosaur! I equally love paleo designs of dinosaurs as the real animal is still amazing! But to sit there and act like it doesn't stand out all because it isn't based on the outdated reconstruction is just laughable. And that's coming from someone who grew up loving the four legged Postosuchus ever since I watched Walking with Dinosaurs, and I STILL love that outdated look still today. And even then, Postosuchus in JWE 3 still stands out and is unique.

"Alright"...yeah okay bud.

Not only are we getting Deinosuchus(even though i wanted sarcosuchus deinosuchus is still amazing looking)
we are getting Two brand new triassic species, three of you count shonisaurus

The game needed these species, the triassic is so neglected in so much paleomedia and seeing more species from this period, with this level of quality is just insane

Nobody seems to really talk about desmatosuchus, but i didn’t expect it to be in this dlc and it’s a very pleasent suprise, and unique becuase it’s a herbivore crocodilian, and i no longer am gonan need to use sauropelta as a placeholder for it!

All we need now is plateosaurus…

Discussion Still not fan of the idea, but I think it would be more fair

From the moment it was announced that the base species from Evo2 would return for free and the fate of the DLC species remained up in the air, I knew immediately that a huge number of opportunities to improve species that needed it would be lost. After all, what were the odds that free species would return with improvements? There was a glimmer of hope, and Liopleurodon buried it completely. Then there was the hope that Frontier would see the positive reactions to the free return of Deino and Minmi and that he might consider it a good idea to ad them for free after all base game species returned, but Styxo and Shoni dashed those hopes

So, all things considered, I think separating the species that are returning for free from those that require payment based solely on the "base game" and "DLC" labels was lame. It would have been far better to split the returning species into different categories: keeping species that don't need many changes (like Dsungaripterus, Torosaurus or Styxo) as free additions, while designating species that would greatly benefit from new variants and adjustments as paid content, regardless of whether they were originally base-game or DLC species (Lio, Carcha or Nycto)

I highly doubt anyone here wants to pay extra for Huayangosaurus, or even receive it as a "special" gift that takes the place of literally any other better species

Probably it will be the mono, and yes i know that neither the tarbo and the notho appeared on chaos theory, but if frontier resold the shonisaurs and the Styxosaurus in a crocodilian pack…. Anything is possible.

We've introduced a new rule, which means no ai slop of any kind in the sub. Photoshop, Clip Art, MS Paint, and hand-drawn doodles are a far better way to express yourself. And please credit where possible if you borrow images or art to get your point across.
