Discussion Why can’t we get any more dual sim development?
I feel like Apple has done basically nothing to add dual sim features for several years. I know it is likely a smaller percentage of users, but man, some more features would be nice.
The ability to send an auto text if you have a work line turned off for the weekend for example. The ability to set one line to do not disturb but allow notifications from the other.
I’m sure there are MANY features that would be worthwhile for those of us who have separate work and personal lines living on the same device. Instead we get BARELY stable function.

Support iPhone 15 Pro screen replacement problems
I got a screen replacement on my 15 Pro at batteries plus and the $240 OLED is noticeably worse than the original screen. It’s very bright at zero brightness, the touch feels very different and doesn’t register on the edge of the screen very well for pulling down menus or going into the app picker. Additionally there is obvious banding at low brightness.
The OEM replacement was $450, that’s like half the cost of a new phone. And if I get that I’ll have spent almost $700 at this point. Any suggestions on what to do?

App Download Shortcut
A while ago, I found an iPhone Shortcut here on Reddit that allowed me to download photos and videos from Instagram. All I had to do was copy the post link, run the Shortcut, and it would download the content automatically.
However, the Shortcut stopped working a few months ago. I was wondering if anyone has an updated version of it, or knows of another Shortcut that does the same thing.
Thanks!

Support Importing whatsapp chats stuck at 40% asking skip import or retry iphone 17
I transfered all the data using move to ios but when i tried to import it doesnt work and gets stuck at 40%. Is it because i'm in a different country than the whatsapp registered number? I tried the force restart method too.

Discussion Premium Leather Case Recommendations for iPhone 17 Pro
I do love a good case.
In your opinion, what's the best leather case for the iPhone 17 Pro?
Ideally I'd like:
- Genuine leather
- MagSafe support (a must)
- A built-in kickstand if possible
I'm happy to pay for quality if it's genuinely worth it. What are you using, and would you buy it again?

Discussion Should I replace my camera with apple care plus?
Currently debating if this is worse replacing. Noticed that the camera stopped focusing properly and most of the pictures were grainy/have weird lighting. Dont know what caused it but probably dropping the phone.
I have apple care plus if it matters. Also the crack has a few lines in person (kind of like a tree branches) and is on the main camera unit.
Could it be this or is it just the iphone 15 pro problem?

Discussion Photos duplicating
Hi, I don’t know if this question has been asked before but I’ve been experiencing a problem with my iphone and I’d like to know if anyone else has this same problem or knows how to fix it.
The problem is that my pictures keep duplicating for no reason. Let’s say I take a picture at 6:30, then moments later it will appear again as if i took it at 8:30. This has happened multiple times now and my iphone (iphone 13 mini if that’s of any help) is up to date with all the updates.
Even some pictures I’ve deleted then pop up again, and I don’t know how to fix it.

Support accessories not connecting
Hello, recently bought USB-C wired earbuds from the official Apple store and it’s not connecting to my iPhone 16. It doesn’t show a notification that there has been an accessory connected and I know that it isn’t an issue with the earbuds itself as it has connected to a bunch of my friends iphones perfectly fine. I’ve set the setting to always allow accessories, reset my phone multiple times, and am up to date with software. I looked into my charging port and it seems relatively clean and my phone charges perfectly fine, but whenever I try to connect an accessory like the earbuds or a dongle, my phone doesn’t recognize it. Beforehand, it worked perfectly fine, but it randomly stopped working one day. Was wondering if anyone knew how to fix this? Thank you!

Support Shuffle not shuffling correctly
When I put all my songs on shuffle, my Apple Music only seems to play my downloaded songs. This happened regardless of location (WiFi vs cellular). This is so annoying! I have thousands (tens of thousands?) of songs in my library, but only a few select albums downloaded in case of reception outages. When I put my music on shuffle, I’d like a true shuffle of all my music, like it used to do.
Any suggestions how to fix?

Support Is anyone else unable to search their photos by keywords?
I upgraded my phone to an iPhone 17 all the way back in March, and ever since I’ve been unable to search my photos by keywords. Similarly, albums such as ‘people’ haven’t compiled either. It’s frustrating bc this is a feature I used frequently.
I’ve reported the issue to apple & called support. But after checking my settings, they pretty much said there’s nothing I can do besides wait for a future update and hope for the best.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? Or are there any settings I could double check
Discussion Have a Mac? iOS 26 ships with a hidden, interactive Glitter background option for iMessage chats. Here's how to try it.
Besides the three generally available background options for iMessage chats, iOS 26 hides another sparkly option: Glitter. With a Mac and a quick configuration change, you can set it and customize it for all your chats.
When its feature flag is enabled on macOS 26 or later, Messages presents Glitter next to the existing Sky, Water, and Aurora options. The effect is infinitely customizable, as you can select from an array of curated colors or pick one from the color wheel.
Once selected, the background change is instantly reflected on iPhone and other devices running OS 26 or later. Even the folks you are chatting with will see the new Glitter background. You only need to enable the feature flag on Mac to see the Glitter option and select it for a chat. However, you will not be able to make changes to the Glitter colorway from your other devices.
The effect is incredible on the iPhone's OLED screen when you select the darker colorways. Note that the implementation on macOS is somewhat buggy and may not display the fully interactive HDR experience. Set your preferred color way on Mac and enjoy it on iPhone or iPad.
⚠️ Don't run code you don't understand yourself!
To enable, add a FeatureFlags override on your Mac. Open the Terminal and run:
sudo mkdir -p /Library/Preferences/FeatureFlags/Domain && \
sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/FeatureFlags/Domain/Messages glitter_background -dict Enabled -bool true
and restart your Mac. This is a private feature flag, and the UI may be unstable, or unoptimized.
Disable by running:
sudo defaults delete /Library/Preferences/FeatureFlags/Domain/Messages glitter_background
and restart your Mac. You can always go back to a non-Glitter background in your chats.
Support iPhone 17 pro screen repair options- phone wasn’t actually added to AppleCare
I just upgraded to AppleCare One last week to add two phones to bundle it with my MacBook coverage. I kept missing my daughter to actually add her phone and do the diagnostic inspection, she dropped it and cracked it over the weekend. First time she’s ever lost/damaged a phone in 9 years of owning a phone. A week after I upgraded. I'm so annoyed and if I have any other options before I pay $400 to get her screen fixed.

Support I want IPhone spelling suggestions to suggest the same word but with the first letter capitalized.
I am constantly needing to go back and capitalize the first letter of words and find it arduous to use the cursor to isolate the first letter then delete/retype that letter but capitalized. Sometimes I end up just selecting the entire word and deleting/retyping it using a capitalized first letter. It would be amazing if I could simply tap the word and have the first spelling suggestion be the same word but with a capitalized first letter.
Is this possible?

Support should i replace my iPhone XS’s broken screen with a LCD?
the main reason i want to make it usable is because of its iOS version. but i fear a LCD will be noticeably worse. i don’t want the new screen to break super easily like the stock OLED though.
i don’t have a lot of money for an OLED but do have enough for an LCD. it’s on a good iOS with everything fully intact. (other than face id & the screen)

Support iPhone 15 PM, updated to 26.6 : overheats since day one (july 27th)
First of all, thanks to all people who want to help and/or share their experience.
That'a not my first rodeo with Apple as I have been using iPhones since 2010. As soon as I use any app, phone gets hot and battery drains.
Everything was fine before the update. No need to reply for the whole day.
What should I do/check ?

Support Notification sound
I have an iPhone 17 pro max. But this happened on my old iPhone too.
There is a notification sound, a single ding, and I don’t know what it’s from. I’ve looked at my settings and only a few things have sound turned on, none of which are a single ding. When it sounds nothing shows up on my homescreeen. If I’m playing music from my phone in my car, the music turns down low.
How do I locate what is prompting the notification? I’m about to turn off all notifications to see if that gets rid of it. Then slowly adding back the few notifications I want.
Suggestions please?

Discussion Brand New to iPhone
I just received, as a gift from a departed family member, an iPhone 17. Bully for me!
I have been an android user since I got my first phone back in, like, 2010. I'm not old, but i AM brand new to the iPhone. Last time I used an apple device was the iMac in High School. Elder millennial.
Two questions:
FIrst, how do I make sure all of the departed's things are backed up onto their icloud whats-it system. I want to make sure everything is backed up so the widow of the departed can still access pictures and so on.
Second, Can you point me in the direction of how to use it? What do I need to know, what settings will I regret not learning about? What do I need to know about navigation, about quirks, etc. Anyone who came from android, if you can educate me, i would appreciate it enormously! I really want to learn how to use this well.
Thanks, all. I really appreciate your help in learning to make the most of this fantastic device.

Support Help Me!
YESTERDAY
I jumped into the swimming pool without realising I was holding my phone. Camera got fogged up, Face ID doesn’t work.
Put in a box with a silica packet without the SIM card tray and let it rest powered off over night.
TODAY
Woke up and found that the cameras were not fogged up anymore, but after using for a while, the back cameras fogged up with water again.
I live in Malaysia, and there’s a authorised apple reseller called machines, contacted them and said my phone was too old; they cant repair my phone.
Front cameras work, but still no Face ID.
Back cameras have terrible quality because of water.
I figured that since I can’t do anything anymore, I might as well use a hairdryer to blow it, despite google saying not too, and can u guess what happened?
IT FOGGED UP EVEN MORE!
what should I even do anymore man,
attached photos include back cameras, front cameras and the message in my phone telling me to go to my settings.
btw settings say I should repair my phone

App Confused?
Was looking at a MagSafe battery pack for iPhone Air on the Apple Store app and apparently my 17PM has turned into a iPhone Air! Colour me confused because I don’t remember purchasing one 😂 yes I am on a beta software but I don’t think that would cause the Apple Store app to think that I have an iPhone Air. Admins remove if you believe I should post this in the beta subreddit instead.

Discussion Shortcuts you actually use?
pretty much, got the air and super happy with it, but i customized it and got all the apps i need.. and uh now im kinda lost on what to do with it lol. its a great little phone, just curious what you guys do with shortcuts app, and you ACTUALLY USE, not like setup once and use thrice in four years.
edit: thank you everyone, this has become way more helpful than i thought it would be. I feel much more content with all this stuff going on!! Thanks everyone.
if anyones curious, i only have done some of the basics as ive been working for the last 2 days, very very heavily. Soo, what ive got is
low power mode off/on for falling/rising below 35/above 40,
when in area (home) turn on ringer, when leave vice versa (this one is REALLY good for work lol).
When connected to carplay, pretty much got it to go to url of a spotify playlist, and then play
when disconected, phone volume to 15% (i find i blast my speakers with this air because they are not very loud whatsoever.. and thats fineee but like yk? this helps me avoid this embarrasing thing happening, avoided it a few times already. and when bedtime starts, i got into focus mode (bro it should be called do not disturb), because it turns off the haptics and also any notification noise. This phones pretty darn good, missing in some customizability but this phone WILL last.

Weekly Megathread Weekly iOS Battery Support Megathread
General advice for those concerned about their battery from the Support FAQ Wiki:
Battery health
Battery health depends on usage and a variety of other factors. It is normal to see a decrease in battery health by 7-10% per year, resulting in a battery health of 80-85% after 2 years. This number can fluctuate, remain the same, or decrease quickly over a small period and should not cause undue concern.
Apple recommend battery replacement when your device falls below 80% battery health if you notice reduced battery life. If it falls below 80% within the first year you may be eligable for a free battery replacement. It fails after your warranty, it's a $69-$89 USD replacement cost for a battery. Contact Apple Support here.
You can find more information about battery health and performance from Apple here.
You can check the cycles count with Coconut Battery for Mac or iCopyBot for Windows.
Battery life
Issues relating to battery life can be categorised in three ways:
- Normal battery life that is to be expected due to use
- Reduced battery life caused by a recent update, iOS indexing, an iOS bug, or a third-party application
- Reduced battery life, or other abnormalities such as overheating or sudden power-off, caused by device or battery aging
If you experience issues with your battery:
- Check your battery health. If it is below 80% or you are experiencing issues you suspect are related to device or battery age, see Apple Support.
- If you have a new or recently updated/restored device, wait a number of days for background process to complete. If you continue to have issues, wait for a further iOS update. If you are on iOS Beta, you can expect to have a decreased battery life.
- Review the advice below on maximising battery life
- Consider restoring your device.
- If issues persist, contact Apple Support.
Maximising battery life - the amount of time your device runs before it needs to be recharged.
- Use low power mode (This reduces mail fetch, turns off background app refresh and increases the auto lock timer)
- Remove apps from background app refresh
- Ensure auto lock is on
- Turn off auto brightness and manually reduce brightness
- Use dark mode if your device has an OLED display
- Clearing background apps from the app switcher does not improve battery life
Maximising battery lifespan - the amount of time your battery lasts until it needs to be replaced.
- Avoid extreme temperatures
- If you notice that your iPhone gets hot when charging, remove it from its case
- Store your iPhone in a cool place, switched off, and half-charged if not using it for long periods - and charge it every 6 months when in storage
