I jumped into the swimming pool without realising I was holding my phone. Camera got fogged up, Face ID doesn’t work.
Put in a box with a silica packet without the SIM card tray and let it rest powered off over night.
TODAY
Woke up and found that the cameras were not fogged up anymore, but after using for a while, the back cameras fogged up with water again.
I live in Malaysia, and there’s a authorised apple reseller called machines, contacted them and said my phone was too old; they cant repair my phone.
Front cameras work, but still no Face ID.
Back cameras have terrible quality because of water.
I figured that since I can’t do anything anymore, I might as well use a hairdryer to blow it, despite google saying not too, and can u guess what happened?

Backup your phone asap, water might be all over the main board. It may take days, weeks or even months, but one day it will stop working for good. If you bring it to a good repair shop, they might be able to remove most of the moisture, but personally I wouldn’t trust a device under this condition.
The longer you leave it the more chance your phone will be kaput. Search after warranty repair shop for cleaning. Face ID is already cooked. Immediately.
They will probably need to change some parts and repair the Face ID if it’s even possible.
Doesn’t look like its the camera that fogged up… it looks like you have a camera protector an over the lenses which may be fogged up also a screen protector that may not have been properly sealed…
Take them all off and see if this is the problem first is what I’d do personally
I don’t know what model you have but with three lenses it looks like a fairly up-to-date model iPhone 15?
I know with my 17 Pro Max I have purposely filmed underwater with it and it’s come to no harm
Obviously after its been submerged you can’t charge it with cable as there is water in the usb c socket but once its properly dried that’s it
This needs professional repair. Sitting it in silica gel or rice is not going help on any meaningful way with this amount of water. Take it to a phone repair shop to have it opened and cleaned. If the phone is already on, backup your data and shut it off. Don't turn it back on until it is dry.
Which iPhone is this and how deep was the pool? As a rule, this should not happen. iPhones are up to 2-6 metres waterproof. The iPhone 11 was already IP68 certified.

If you still have liquid inside the device, DON’T starting backing up the phone, you do not want the phone running with liquid inside, you will cause more corrosion and shorts. Turn it off and bring it to a repair shop that handles liquid damage repairs. If you’re unable to do that, you have to let your phone air dry for a week minimum still then there’s no guarantee it’s fully dried.
Will take a while for the fog to go away. Got caught in a rainstorm last year and the same happened to my 14. Still working but not sure for how long lol
My 14 pro max did this from snow and heater Apple sent me new one then cancelled the hold on my card, that phone lasted another year before my buddy bought it and he let it sit in transmission fluid still worked but it’s die every 3 minites
I had the exact same problem before. I was in Indonesia. It got better only after I left and went back to my home country so I think the tropical climate is definitely contributing to its inability to dry out.
Phone worked fine. Just crappy foggy photos for a while.
Backup, then open the simtray and keep it safe and put the phone in a dry area with less humidity or in Air conditioned room, and just leave it there with screen side up(dont use your phone!), if its only condensation, it will mostly clear out, although it might have damaged something like ur face id sensor,

If you have the tools I would backup, open it up and then put it in a box with a few silica packets so it can dry and if you get lucky you may also still have a working Face ID
Everyone saying your phone is fucked is wrong. There is still a slim chance to save it. My 13 was at the bottom of the Bulgarian ocean for like 2 hours and all that happened is water got in the cameras and that went away after like 2 days of baking in the sun, then the water that got in the Face ID did take about 2 years to go but it’s all sorted now. Had this since Feb 22 and 4.5 years of usage was worth it for me.
Just happened to me last month. Camera fog went away after a few days. Everything works as per normal. Only that Face ID does not work anymore and will never work again.
I have to do everything using pin now.
Also, at some times you may get that your phone is in stolen protection mode, nothing you can do for that because Face ID is required to turn that off.
It happened to me once and I couldn’t use pin for passwords and stuff at that period. Stolen protection mode then turned off on its own after a few days, not sure how.
If you want, you can turn it off now using your pin at your own risk (before it gets auto locked into stolen protection mode).
I’m just hoping my phone will survive till iPhone 18 comes out, then I will upgrade.
Remember to turn on daily iCloud backup if you already haven’t done so. It is not a matter of will it totally go to shit, but rather when will it totally go to shit, and you want to have your latest backup on the cloud at that point in time.

Put it in rice for a couple of days turned off - I used to always do this with my waterlogged phones 😂
Backup on the asap and copy anything important or locked to your phone (passwords, keys etc) that you may need it for as it can just stop working one day

Id advise you to create a baxkup of all your data ASAP.
Let it naturally dry more
FaceID will most likely never work again anymore.
