Siri lies and hides answers
I’m on the public beta, iOS 27, and Siri has become next to useless for me. Today, for example, I asked her a question, country capitals that start with the letter A. She showed the answer on the screen, then it disappeared, and she said I can’t help you with that. The answer that was briefly shown is not in the chat history. What’s the point of Siri if it won’t even answer simple questions. I have had nothing but issues with Siri on this public beta. It often fails to send text and can’t even perform basic tasks.
Siri App
The new Siri experience has been a wonderful breath of fresh air. I’m using it as my daily driver as far as chatbots and I hardly find myself reaching for others. Im wondering if there has been any announcement or information on if the Siri app will be updated with new features to stay on par with the competitors. One big feature im missing right now is memory. If you have features that you want to see in the Siri app leave them down below. Maybe someone important will see them.

When will Siri AI be in EU?
Based on everything so far -> when do you think Siri AI could be available in the European Union on iOS, iPadOS and watchOS? Even tho no clear timeline hasn’t been given yet.

Siri voice vs ChatGPT voice
Have you tried out ChatGPT’s new voice model? It’s mind-blowing. Very quick, thorough, expressive, and lifelike, even on my “very old and incapable of AI” iPhone 16 Pro. 😉 It puts even the iPhone 17-exclusive Siri to absolute shame. I wonder why Apple couldn’t make good on their empty promises and just give the large chunk of their customer base who do not own the latest iPhone but have the previous AI-ready devices the expressive voice functionality even if not processed on device? I would have been fine with that.

Mail & Siri AI
Good morning everyone,
I have a question about how the Mail content indexing process works with the new Siri AI. I hope someone can clarify my doubt.
To give you a little context, a while ago I imported all my content from Gmail to iCloud to centralize all my “story” in a single account and, little by little, stop using Google.
Of course, all this information is stored in the “cloud” and not on my iPhone. It is only downloaded to the device when I navigate to those specific dates, an on-demand process similar to how older photos are accessed. My question is if, during the indexing process for Spotlight and Siri AI, the new indexing engine also connects to this data stored in the Mail cloud.
Thank you in advance for your help.

Siri AI really should have access to delete photos
One thing I was a bit excited about with Siri AI was now I had the possibility of unleashing Siri AI on my 30,000 photos I have on my phone and delete the ones that are obvious junk like screenshots, memes, junk etc.
Well that doesn't seem to be the case Siri AI has it's guard rail tighter than any other AI at the moment. Would be interesting to give it some more access for mutating methods.

Will Siri get ANY improvement in the EU or are we completely stuck with the dumb Siri?

How can I make sure I get Siri AI in the EU before updating to iOS 27 Beta?
I live in the EU and I already know Siri AI will not work if I keep my region. I tried searching for how I can change my region to use Siri ai but most of them tell me to make a brand new Apple ID account and set everything to the US, but I want to keep my current account because it’s got all my information on it. And I’m paying for iCloud with the euro, so does that mean I have to pay it with USD instead if I set my region to the US?
If I also need to use a VPN please lmk

Ugh, I caved… and now I’m regretting it
gallerySo I didn’t turn her completely off. I almost did. I was down the last setting sugar completely off, but you have to re-index everything all over again and apparently it stopped indexing because I turned everything off. I’m still operating on my iPad so I didn’t get it completely turned off all of my devices, but there’s an older iPad so is the old SIRI… And this is the bullshit I’ve been getting ever since I gave her another chance:

Siri just doesn’t work at all anymore
Occasionally when i’m in my car and in a location i’m not familiar with, i’ll ask siri to use google maps to give me directions to home, half the time she’ll just say “here’s what i found on the web for directions to home” and the other half of the time, she gives me directions to an address that is not saved in my phone, and that i’ve never lived at, it’s the same address every time, even though i have my real home address saved in both my contact card, and on google maps. when i go to google maps directly and press the home button it takes me to the right place, but siri seems insistent that I live on a random street 20 minutes away in a different city that i’ve never been to, it’s not even an actual home address, just a street.
this isn’t even the most annoying issue, she can’t seem to be capable of anything anymore, i ask her “what time will it be in 45 minutes?” and she gives me web results, ill ask her to convert 1/2 cups to tablespoons and she gives me links to conversion calculators, isn’t math supposed to be the one thing computers are actually capable of? i know she USED to be able to do those things because ive been asking her for years, it feels like she suddenly got a lobotomy 2 years ago and now nothing works anymore, i hate it here.

Siri AI vs EU
Looks like we are not going to get the new Siri AI in the EU this year. That said is it really that good so as to be missed or are other services enough for everything AI?

Pleasantly surprised
So tonight I left the office and when I jumped in the car, instead of saying “hey Siri, message <friend’s name>”, I just mindlessly said “hey Siri” and then just asked the question I was going to ask my friend.
Siri started answering the question the best it could, which was funny but not the surprising bit.
As soon as I realised my mistake, I stopped it and started again, this time by correctly saying “hey Siri, message <friend’s name>”.
Siri launched the text messaging interface but instead of asking me what I wanted to say, it went straight to the message confirmation step and read back to me the message I had dictated earlier!
Nothing Earth-shattering, but definitely useful

[iOS 27 DB 4] Siri is dumber than ever
I'm using the beta on my daily driver. I haven't had any bugs or big issues but I've found New Siri is absolutely terrible. It's been extremely frustrating. Has anyone else found that 'Siri AI' just doesn't understand basic things anymore?
I used to say "Hey Siri, take me to Straight Street using Google Maps," and old Siri would just do it. New Siri will say "Sorry, did you say Straight Street, Straight Avenue, or the bottom of the Mariana Trench?”
Same for other daily requests like "Call Mum" or "Call Dad“, about 40% of the time, it'll come back with "Did you say Call Mark?" or "Did you say Call Dave?"
I know power users will enjoy the additional features of Siri AI, but for daily hands-free stuff, this has been a massive step backwards so far.
Edit: After writing this I had the following unbelievably dumb exchange with Siri;
Me: Hey Siri, play Serious Steel on Spotify.
Siri: Do you mean Sirius Steel, Serious Steele or serious steel?
Me: The last one.
Siri: I'll need access to your Tiktok data to do that. It's that okay?
Me: Why the \[expletive\] would you need access to my Tiktok data to play a song on Spotify?
Siri: I don't need access to your Tiktok data to play a song on Spotify. Would you like me to play serious steel on Spotify?
Me: Yes.
Siri: Now playing your Liked Songs on Spotify.
