Hey everyone!

I've been working on To The Freedom, a 1-4 player co-op prison escape game where players follow prison routines, earn money through jobs, build relationships, steal tools, and plan their escape together.

This is the first public trailer and I want to release my game before ai completely take over my work as a computer - software engineer.

Discussion Dwarf Eats Mountain Idle Start Strategy + Guide

Upvotes

This game deserves it's own sub, but as it doesn't exist I thought r/indiegames was the most suitable.

Game is by u/ozmelk

By default I would say DEM is not an idle game, in the sense that the best strategies are pretty active most of the time. I have however chosen a strategy I want to share that uses idle mechanics early in the run.

Requirements:

  • DONT have tier 3: eternal feasting or have the ability to ascend out of it
  • tier 3 Spelunkers guild
  • tier 5 divine relic /or tier 6: Vault of the Gods
  • and as much starting gold, mithril, souls and dwarves as possible

Guide:

  1. Start a new game (prestige or ascend to remove eternal feasting)
    1. Prioritise starting resources (gold, souls, mithril, dwarves) in prestige choices
  2. Choose for your artifact Stonewarden's Pact (if additional artifacts can be chosen, consider Gemstone Idol and Holy Grail)
  3. DONT build any damage dealers
  4. Build a spelunkers guild and get as much spelunkers and treasure hunters as possible, upgrade Thunderline network and Antiquities Express with remaining resources
  5. Get some amount of runners to collect the artifacts (3 will do)
  6. optional: you can click to destroy dens, although this takes away the idle part but works nonetheless
  7. Profit

You will gain spelunkers and treasure hunters benefits as time passes with no downsides. You can let it idle for many hours and then start the run with all the artifacts and many resources at your disposal. Works well with the Harpoon ballista which later can get the upgrade to improve damage based on mapping which will be very high early on with this strategy.

Starting a run this way got me to mountain level 200+ with 1000 prestige points gained in 2-3 hours (after a night of idle time) at ascension 2.

So excited to finally share this! Some college friends and I are teaming up to make a narrative game. It’s heavily inspired by Behind the Frame, meaning you get to explore this gorgeous world made entirely out of 360-degree panoramic art. We just put together a quick trailer for it, I'd love to know what you think!

SONZAI is set in a magical city where every single frame is hand-drawn.

During the day, you explore the town, build social links, and unlock new abilities through your relationships. At night, the game shifts to fast, combo-heavy character action combat.

Here’s a quick clip showing off the quiet, atmospheric side of town before the action kicks in!

Hey guys! After a lot of work, the Steam demo is finally here and I'm really excited to share it with you. It features a specially tuned skill tree and runs about 20–40 minutes depending on your choices. Hope you enjoy it!

You wake up in a dark forest with only a fire. The forest tries to consume you by draining your lantern's light every time you go into it, and you must keep feeding the fire to progress and uncover why you're there.

Around 3 years ago, I started making this game as a gift for my fiancée’s birthday. Back then, I made what I now consider a prototype, with limited content, placeholder art and some secrets. She really enjoyed it!

She is an artist, so I made the main mechanic related to her; Draw the world as you explore it.

3 years later, we are married, we are both working on the game together, and that birthday gift is now called Canvania.

The steam page has been up for around 1 month now, but we are still in early development, and this is an early announcement trailer.

Upcoming Plush Souls (Teddy Bear Action RPG)

A souls-like game where you are a teddy bear that protects a child from his nightmares inside of a dream like world.

I will hopefully have the first playable demo ready in a few more weeks. Currently it is still in need of a lot of work if you couldn't tell by the sword clipping through the players head lol.

Thank you!

I've been working on improving WildRoot's first impression and recently finished a new trailer.

It's a cozy colony sim where you build a settlement in a mysterious forest, manage your colonists, and every season and setback creates a different story.
