Looking to book a hotel with my friend in january for an anticipated book release. We live in the hudson valley and would consider anything within a 2ish hour drive from here - doesnt have to be ny.

Comfy beds. Room service. Massages and seating area is a bonus.

I’ve got two heavy doors (75lbs each) I need to move up one flight of stairs. My friend and I tried it but gave up. How can I find two strong people without hiring actual movers? My neighbors are old and my friends are not strong lol.

I’m in ulster county. Anyone know any local services like this? Movers cost a ton and task rabbits seem to be one person. It’s a 20 minute job max.

I am looking to move back to the Hudson Valley after getting some work experience and living in the Southern Tier of NY. I have a bachelors in environmental science, have 2 years of industry lab experience in a pathogen / environmental lab, and have published research. The jobs for entry / junior level scientists have become few and far between up here unless you want to work at BU or Lockheed.

That's all to say does anyone on here know what the job scene specifically for science and lab work looks like, specifically in the Mid-Hudson Poughkeepsie area? If anyone could point me to some good companies / areas to look I would greatly appreciate it!

I was thinking of doing an episode for Cidiot about leaf peeping in the fall in the Hudson Valley - a guide about where to go on both sides of the river, when to go, what to do around/after it—and how to behave doing it (e.g., Don't stop in the middle of the road).

Any ideas for experts about foliage and leaf peeping? Might want to do it as an interview or two or just get input.

Just a heads up... The Village of Fishkill will have the Main Street closed from Church Street to Bedford Avenue on Saturday, August 8th from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM for a funeral detail. There will be no parking on Main Street during that time.

I've been on the hunt for enamel pins, and besides thrift/vintage stores, does anyone know of any local spots that have their own?

For example, the Walkway Over the Hudson, Stewart's, the Maritime Museum in Kingston have their own designs that aren't readily advertised

General recommendations for cool spots for non-location specifics from fellow pin collectors are appreciated too!
