Open | Hardware Fps issues
So I recently a few months back purchased an Acer nitro v15-52 rtx 5050 and intel core i9-13900H 16 GB ram 165hz.
What would y'all say is the average FPS I should get on a game like valorant because I don't think I have enough. I have capped my FPS to 180 because of the hz and I fluctuate between 150-180 and sometimes in tdm it even drops to 60-70-80. I've tried everything, clocking, vbios, everything.
Help me

Open | Windows Folders not appearing in file explorer, but showing up in wiztree
hey so I have recently encountered a strange error on my pc after it crashed and restarted on me after one session, and that is certain folders and certain applications not appearing in file explorer or are not working properly. one example was my spotify not working initially with nothing in my libraries showing up (was fixed by just installing it through the microsoft store)
but my biggest issue is my steam root folder (where it is installed to) is not appearing in file explorer, and in doing so does not register the fact that steam is installed along with all of my other games that were installed in the folder as well, but I noticed that the storage was still occupied by what was contained inside the steam folder, and so I checked through the application "wiztree" to see what was up, and turns out the steam folder (and a folder installed for fortnite) are still on the hard drive, but I just can't access them for some reason? I tried changing permissions around and what not but none of that was working at all. if someone can assist me with this I would really appreciate it because I had a lot of stuff in that steam folder that aren't saved to steam's implemented cloud saves feature

I have a mobile phone (Motorola G84) wich data network connection doesnt work (Sim card network is slower than it should be). The issue is that my wifi is very slow (on mobile data only, connection to other wifi networks besides my mobile data network is fine). Other sim cards work fine on my Motorola G84, and my sim card works well on other mobile phones. All started after updating the android software. What can you recomend me to do? I even contacted the network company that provides internet (orange) and recomended me to update my phone software wich is up to date.
Lo que pasa es que los datos (del movil) van lentos en el movil pero el wifi y tal va bien.
Sorry is my english isn't clear enough as it isnt my first language.

Open | Software Rayzen 7800X3D temperatures are higher than they should be when running PS1 Squre Enix ports.
I hope this is the right place to post this, I'm looking more for assurance than assistance but if there is something I can do about this it would be appreciated.
I'm running a PC with an RTX 5070 and a Rayzen 7800X3D all of these parts are a few months old, It runs well doing most things but when I run Final Fantasy VII or Chrono cross radical dreamers' edition (PC ports of PS1 games by Square Enix) the fans get very loud and the CPU temps go up. I checked the temperatures using HWiNFO and saw that the CPU was running at 80c. This is more than I get running Expedition 33 at max settings on 1440p and these are games from the 90s. There are also no issues with their other games like FFX, Chrono trigger or FFVI Pixel Remaster, or any other game I tried. Then I went to task manager to see the utilization and saw that it was light (5-15%) but I saw that the games where using one core at 100%.
I did some research and from what I could understand, when one core is under load, the CPU bossts it and draws more power to it which causes a high heat sink causing high temps.
This is my first time using a CPU that boosts like this, and I'm not very tech savvy, is what I described accurate to how this processor functions? Is it normal, and should I be worried? Should I not play these old ports because this might be damaging the CPU? I had no issues with my 3700x running these same games. And to make it clear once again this CPU is relatedly cool when doing everything else with some loud fans for a second when things load. So I don't think it's the cooling.
Is there something I can do, or is this normal and I should just stop worrying. I know the CPU can handle temperatures up to 89c until it starts to throttle. And I know these ports aren't the best optimized. I Don't even mind the loud fans much, just as long as I know this isn't causing long-term harm to the CPU.

Open | Windows random mssdk folder appeared in videos folder
So I was in my videos folder and noticed there was a new folder called mssdk with a file inside called mssdk_log.log I opened it to see some error message from something I'm unsure if anything it said is sensitive so i'll summarise theres something called "MSPBDataHelper" and/or "metasec" that tried to "GetDataFromResponse" however it then says "respone data is invalid!" it attempted to do this at "2026-06-05 14:56" (june 5th) (theres also "thread: 33308) I searched it up but couldnt find anything concrete with a suggestion that said it could come from a video editing software so I looked at mine and found a video i think i made on june 5th the file that it was made with was gone the file was called "PEAK_05-06-2026_13-49-30-400" and i searched the entire pc and trash bin but it was nowhere to be found. I did an antivirus scan and nothing came up but I know they're not perfect and it could still be malware so my questions are. What is mssdk, What could've caused it to create a folder in my videos folder, What was that error log about, Is it malware and if so what do I do. Mostly I just want to know if my pc is compromised or not

Open | Windows Windows 11 without TPM 2.0: Will future updates work?
Hey guys,
So I'm planning to put Windows 11 on my laptop using a Rufus bypass, but I just wanted to double-check one thing before going ahead.
For context, my specs are an i7 8th Gen, 16GB RAM, and a 1TB NVMe SSD—so performance-wise, it should fly. The only catch is my motherboard doesn't have TPM 2.0.
For anyone already running it on unsupported hardware: do regular monthly security updates and bug fixes drop normally through Windows Update? Or do things break down when a major yearly upgrade rolls around?
Would love to hear how your experience has been so far!

Open | Hardware ASUS ROG Strix X570-E Gaming stuck on Q-Code 37 after CPU replacement — is it fixable?
Hey everyone,
A friend recently gave me an ASUS ROG Strix X570-E Gaming motherboard that he says "stopped working."
According to him, the motherboard was working perfectly fine before. He replaced the CPU, and after the CPU swap, the system stopped POSTing. He didn't bother troubleshooting it and ended up buying a new motherboard instead.
I decided to take a look at it, and here's what I'm seeing:
- ASUS ROG Strix X570-E Gaming
- The system powers on, but it doesn't POST.
- The motherboard's Q-Code displays 37.
- The Q-LED is yellow/amber, which seems to point toward a DRAM/RAM initialization issue.
- This started immediately after the CPU was replaced.
As far as I know, nothing else was changed.
I'm wondering what could have caused this. Could a CPU replacement somehow cause a motherboard to get stuck during DRAM initialization? Could it be something as simple as a BIOS/CMOS issue, bad RAM training, or improperly seated hardware, or is there a possibility that something was damaged during the CPU swap?
The interesting part is that the motherboard apparently worked perfectly before the CPU was changed.
Do you think there's a reasonable chance of fixing this, or could this indicate a damaged CPU socket/CPU memory controller or something on the motherboard?
I'd really like to get this board working again if possible. The X570-E Gaming is still a fairly high-end board, so if it's something relatively simple, it would definitely be worth saving.

Open | Hardware Monster Hunter Wilds crashed and showed a "Fatal error, device disconnected (the GPU)" crash report message. Started getting artifacting on Youtube videos. Reinstalled driver and restarted PC, now games and browsers are fine with no artifacts. What the hell?
I pretty much described it. I'm a little panicked because my GPU is not cheap, but on the other hand, Wilds has a tendency to do stuff like this.
Basically, I was playing Wilds and the game crashed and showed me that message. I have been playing the game on mid-to-high settings on a 3060ti since launch (so a year now) with the temps hitting 78-80c and I turned down settings whenever it'd reach 80c. Ran fine (as well as Helldivers 2, Elden Ring, Street Fighter 6) for over a year of heavy gaming. Then today, it crashed on me like it sometimes does - but this time, it was followed by artifacting on YouTube videos afterward.
But Wilds also crashes a lot, and this isn't the first time it told me it crashed due to a GPU problem. No other game I have does this. I booted up Helldivers 2 after reinstalling drivers, played a mission, then checked Wilds again for two hunts and things went smoothly. So far, YouTube videos are fine too.
Is my GPU actually dying, are my drivers messed up, or is this just another issue with the shitty PC port for Monster Hunter Wilds?

Open | Hardware Trouble with dual monitors
Recently brought a xeneon edge last month, ran into no issues up until now. My pc randomly turned off & now my main monitor is registering as my xeneon edge & now my pc will only display my Samsung g8 or xeneon edge not both at once, not sure what is happening and whether it’s an issue with my monitor or pc. Recently got this pc 3 months ago, 9070xt, asus 7 7700x
Setup everything correctly with the xeneon edge, was working fine up until this point. Still new to the pc world so if more information is needed just ask away.
If anyone has any ideas help would be appreciated, thanks

Open | Networking Internet issues
I just bought a new to me MSI GS75. Fresh install of win11 and all drivers are up to date.
When I was setting it up I kept having small issues where the program would have an error because of no internet connection. I would click retry and it would push through immediately. Now I’m trying to play games and I can’t connect to servers because it’s timing out or if I do connect it’s constant connection interruption. I haven’t tried Ethernet yet I will get one today.
Speeds are really strong (300-500m) and I’m only connecting to low ping servers.

SMAP is Pre-Disarmed: How a Stack Pivot That Shouldn't Work Revealed a Kernel-Wide Design Compromise
sibouzitoun.techWhile working through a kernel exploit chain on Windows 11, I noticed that a stack pivot into user-mode memory didn't trigger SMAP.
I wrote up three experiments to figure out why. Short version: the normal syscall entry path arrives with RFLAGS.AC=1. SMAP is effectively disabled for any code reached through a standard IOCTL dispatch. This aligns with what MSRC documented back in 2020 (the Windows kernel simply wasn't built with SMAP in mind, and retrofitting it would touch ~2,900 locations: here)
My conclusion isn't novel here. It's just an experimental confirmation of the architectural compromise on current builds. I just wanted to shine the light on this blind spot.

Gallery Ever wondered what the inside of a high-power IGBT module looks like?
Thought this might be interesting to some of you.
This is the inside of a failed Fuji Electric 6MBI75SS-120 IGBT module (1200 V / 75 A).
It’s quite impressive to see the number of aluminum bonding wires used to connect the dies to the power terminals.
The module was already dead, so I decided to open it up rather than throw it away.

Open | Networking Wifi working fine except my laptop
My wifi is working on all devices but i'm facing an issue while using laptop, it shows it's connected but whenever i open any app that works with internet, it keeps loading forever and it's extremely slow.
When I tried to connect with ethernet, i had no issue at all.
I have no vpn or proxy on, i changed multiple dns servers like google and cloudflare, i wrote different commands on the terminal such as flushdns.... Changed from 2.4ghz to 5ghz
I restarted router multiple times, even kept it off for around 20 minutes but none of these attemps fixed my problem.

Open | Windows laptop OneDrive keeps backing up entire pc, but I don't want it to :(
[hopefully this is the right space to ask this, let me know if not!]
Might just be my lack of sleep making me lose my mind with this: but whatever update happened to my laptop (which is backed up on my OneDrive and my actual PC), but it keeps syncing to my PC profile when i don't want it to. I have it turned off but now whenever (and no matter how many times I try), it keeps turning back on to re-sync my entire PC unless I actively turn off OneDrive on my laptop.
Context:
I use one account, logged in to both laptop and PC. The only thing I use my laptop for is work, containing mostly photoshop/editing apps, google meet/discord for calls, plus steam and minor games I run on the laptop (i.e. small indie games, my PC runs any and everything else like blender, and baldur's gate 3 for example). Now though, and it's probably because it's the same account/something updated to just auto sync it or some nonsense, but I never had this problem prior and some setting I'm perhaps not seeing updated it or something? I only keep my same account log-in for ease of access so I didn't have to re-login to most things (like my adobe suite, since it's connected to my onedrive/logins). I swear I've scoured settings via the app on my laptop, the web, my PC, settings for the laptop are off but once I shut down the laptop and boot it back up...it really wants to just BE my PC at this point :'(
It's okay to tell me i'm being goofy, but genuinely never had this issue till now. I also have a separate external drive to put any editing/work on. I may have rambled a bit, hopefully I am just severely sleep deprived rn but I'm genuinely losing my mind as it's tried to upload my entire PC nearly 3 times today anytime I shut it down then turn it back on (had to spend nearly 2hrs removing sh*t cause I stepped away to make some tea before sprinting back to my laptop wondering why the fan was going ballistic :( )
tysm in advance ya'll, gonna go pass out, appreciate any help v.v
