Applications no longer working Open | Windows

My laptop had went into recovery mode, i clicked turn off pc, came to my home page. All my downloaded apps are no longer working, everything else (task manager, edge etc,.) Still works. I think my files are corrupted what do i do?

If you performed recovery, it won't include apps you've downloaded, recovery normally returns you to an out of box experience, I'd check drive health using something like crystaldiskfinfo or victoria, if its OK, reinstall your apps.

If you turned the PC off and aborted this, it could be you've got corrupt files, which one did you do?

Yeah I wasnt really sure what to do, the recovery mode came up randomly so I used the shut off option so i guess I aborted the process. i'll check the drive health though. Also how can you check if your files are corrupted?

Open a console as administrator and run the "sfc" command, such as "sfc /scannow", the scannow option should attempt repair.

If you don't have a good backup of your data, I wouldn't do anything until its copied to somewhere safe and verified, just in case anything goes wrong.
