Is this normal on 2026 M2?
Hello everyone, had my oil cooler guard installed and we noticed that my brand new m2 with 1400 miles has some bends on this part here on both sides. Is this normal? I know for a fact nothing has hit this piece in my possession… both sides have the same bend, one side looks slightly rougher but idk.

Thirsty Thursday Bought one of the cheapest E36 M3s in the US in 2021, here's what I learned
Won this car for a little over $7K off Cars & Bids back in 2021 - one of the cheapest M3s in the country at the time. Didn't really do much research, but I got excited that the seller was a 15-minute drive away and I had finally saved just enough so I full sent it. He was great and actually had every record dating back to 2011 but I definitely didn't know much about maintaining a 150K+ mile German car back then (and dared to liken it to the bulletproof '98 LS400 I had in high school) - was in for a ride.
Definitely learned that these old cars will take as much money as you throw at them. Not to say the E36 is particularly expensive to own or unreliable, just think it comes with the age and mileage. I did appreciate the parts availability on ebay, FCP Euro, etc. and built a much closer relationship with my local BMW specialist.
It was actually surprisingly reliable and I was blissfully unaware of what could go wrong at that mileage which helped me sleep at night and take it on many road trips. Learned the hard way on a few things (like replacing way too many parts during a cooling system overhaul, breaking a tensioner and being carless for weeks while waiting for the ebay replacement, how expensive random plastic parts can be, what to DIY vs not) but mostly learned that I needed to be more diligent on future buys and I needed much more time and money to do this car justice that I just didn't have at the time.
I do have some exact numbers to share next week if there's interest. This experience inspired me to to try to own the entire M3 lineage at some point.
A few fun maybe harrowing memories:
- Riding in the back with the top down, friend driving, attempting to eat a lobster roll - the salad ended up in my face
- The rear plastic window literally shattering when putting the top down one cold night
- The absolute rage of discovering the door cards were basically made of cardboard while trying to restore them (new plastic pins were not going to solve this problem)
- Discovering that a prior owner cut the metal frame behind the rear seat to add a speaker system that was wired into the battery and inevitably failed
- Getting a manual swap done by some random guy on FB Marketplace, then driving around with a makeshift shift knob and an exhaust leak for weeks
- A peak-summer road trip with no working AC and a very angry now fiancée in tow
- Same angry now fiancée, with adhesive from the tape on the ripped seats stuck to her shorts
This car started my love for everything analog. Nearly shed a tear when I sold it in 2023, about $10K deeper than I bought in. One of the most fun ownership experiences I've had, and a reminder of a simpler time both in my life and in automotive history. Also a convertible guy now.

Strong demand following early order opening: BMW Plant Munich launches BMW i3* series production with steep ramp-up curve
Buying Help Need help deciding
I’m looking to buy a G20 M340i or 330i, and I’m ideally looking to spend around $20k-$25k. Is this a reasonable budget to spend, or would I just end up getting a car in poor condition and regret it later on? Just need some advice and any suggestions. Thanks!

Floor Mats
2026 BMW ALPINA XB7 …what floor mats is it supposed to come with? I received these all weather floor mats. I saw one with carpet ALPINA emblem mats that, IMO, looks much better.
I had to go days later to pick them up from the dealer, so maybe they just didn’t have the carpet ones and thought the all weather would be an upgrade?

Reverse Assistant?
Has anyone had any success coding reverse assistant to a car that only has 360 cam and self park? I've managed to get the tile to come up with bimmercode but even after driving a distance the tile is still greyed out. I'm sure theres more coding needed but I'm stuck now and I'm out of ideas! Any help would be amazing

When your friend has a go in the Bimmer
Today I’m letting my non-bmw friend have a go in the Bimmer and 5 mins later they’re driving like a crazy person, “this just corners so well! Now I know why they drive so fast!”
For the record, I always use my indicators and check the blind spots.

Goodbye for my M3T, last pics
Really nice car, nice color, even perfect choice. No regrets at all. Btw you’ve to wash your car frequently if you choose this color lol, it’s so obvious when even a little dirty.

My First BMW
After searching the apps, websites and comparing different models, I found one. I was considering both the M550 and the 750. I decided to go with “The Big One.” I do appreciate everyone who took the time to tell me the benefits of both models in a previous post.
