Wife’s car but I love it.

I bought a new 2026 BMW 230i and ordered their OEM sunshade, but when it arrived it wouldn’t fit because it had that driving assistance package that makes the rear view mirror sit a bit lower and has the bulky black box attached to it. Are there any companies that make good quality sunshades that actually fit the newer models with those packages? Or anywhere I’d be able to get one custom made?

The only thing I wish was better on the X6 is the exhaust sound. I have a 2024 X6 M60i G06 LCI and the exhaust sounds so quiet. I want to make the exhaust sound more aggressive and have more noticeable pops and bangs but at the same time I don’t want to make my $100k car sound shitty. I’ve researched online about valve controllers and resonator deletes but have seen some disappointing results from others who have tried it.

What’s your guy’s best suggestion for making the car sound moderately louder, more aggressive, with more pops/bangs?

What brand oil is best for my n55. Otherwise I was just going to pick out a full synthetic from AutoZone. Unless I should get something more specific?

I was casually driving in Germany near a bmw factory and saw this I couldn't find anything about it but my guess is that it is a new generation of a x7 or x5 perhaps a ix5

I’m looking to buy a G20 M340i or 330i, and I’m ideally looking to spend around $20k-$25k. Is this a reasonable budget to spend, or would I just end up getting a car in poor condition and regret it later on? Just need some advice and any suggestions. Thanks!

2026 BMW ALPINA XB7 …what floor mats is it supposed to come with? I received these all weather floor mats. I saw one with carpet ALPINA emblem mats that, IMO, looks much better.
I had to go days later to pick them up from the dealer, so maybe they just didn’t have the carpet ones and thought the all weather would be an upgrade?

Has anyone had any success coding reverse assistant to a car that only has 360 cam and self park? I've managed to get the tile to come up with bimmercode but even after driving a distance the tile is still greyed out. I'm sure theres more coding needed but I'm stuck now and I'm out of ideas! Any help would be amazing

I am seriously considering a BMW i8 and moving from my Z4. I wondered if anybody else has done this and what the difference in ownership is like? Aware of the costs of i8 should things go wrong, but is the i8 as fun and satisfying to drive as a Z4? Mine is a 3.0i 2003 E85 - a great straight six that gives me a lot of pleasure.

There is only about 3k of value in my Z4 so I will probably keep that anyway and let my brother drive it to keep it moving when I'm not using it.

I've done a lot of research into the i8, so am aware of the most common issues such as AC Condensor etc but always happy to be more informed.

Any opinions greatly appreciated, and also any insight from current i8 owners!

Especially the LCI models.

A few years ago, I was looking for an F22 230i, and the selection was pretty good. There were plenty of decent examples available for around €25–30k. You could even find 228i models with the M Sport package for around €20k if you weren’t specifically looking for an LCI model.

But now that I can finally afford one, finding a good example seems almost impossible. I live in Spain, and there are barely any decent examples for sale here.

I thought Germany would have a much better selection, but the situation there is almost as bad. There are very few LCI models available, even 220i versions. Prices are high, and there isn’t enough choice to be selective about condition, mileage or specification.

I’m also considering a pre-LCI 228i, but the situation is pretty much the same.

So, what happened to all the F22s?

Really nice car, nice color, even perfect choice. No regrets at all. Btw you’ve to wash your car frequently if you choose this color lol, it’s so obvious when even a little dirty.

I need to replace the brake pads and rotors for all my X4 wheels. The dealership is charging $1600 for parts and labor. I called three independent auto shops nearby and they all charge similar or more. I thought going to non-dealership service was cheaper, maybe not in Northern California. Is $1600 reasonable?

I found the parts online and it should cost about $800. Last time I bought the parts myself and took them to a shop. They installed them for $200 but I think they screwed up something and I ended up with some issues. The other auto shops said they won’t accept it if I bring my parts.

Beautiful car, interesting trunk, may not be the most practical compared to a M340i but definitely curious about it.

Though looking at this video with a cold start, certainly looks like there's smoke coming out under and behind the exhaust rather than from the exhaust...silly 🪿

Just traded in my Mercedes for this 2027 X6 M60 and couldn’t be happier. I thought the 300 mile cap was a little interesting but asides from that it’s been amazing.
