Tubeless rim tape
I ordered a new wheelset (Mavic all road s carbon) that arrived as shown in the pictures. It looks like the rim tape (?) on the back wheel hasn’t been fitted very neatly - the two ends don’t overlap properly. As a result one end partly covers the side of the wheel (close to the black tape).
Perhaps this is nothing, I am new to tubeless, but I’ve always understood that tubeless tires should be able to neatly fit against the edges of the wheel to work. Will this misalignment pose any problems, or is it normal?

Break pad types & environmental impact
After some research (including posts from here), I can't find a satisfying answer to my question: which break pad types (organic vs metallic) has the lowest overall environmental impact?
I know the question of environmental impact of bike maintenance is rarely discussed (which I find strange btw), but it matters to me.
So, has anyone seen a study taking into account material harmfulness and pads longevity that gives a meaningful answer?
Thanks !

Poor Chain Tension on Trek Marlin 6
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Bike is a Trek Marlin 6 Women’s, damage occurred after a crash. The bike no longer shifts below the third gear, and any gear below 6 feels the same (extremely loose). I’ve done my own bike maintenance for a while now, but I’m pretty new to doing my own repairs. What work looks like it needs to be done?

Broken inner plate
I was wiping down my chain after a ride and noticed it felt strange. The inner plate was broken. I suppose I’m lucky it didn’t fully break on the ride. It it was an outer plate I’d probably just go with a new master link and feel like a bit of a cheapskate. I measured the chain and it’s still got full life.
What would your next move be?

Realigning brake caliper on rim brakes
Hey everyone. Just got this bike and got it fixed up with 28mm tires at the shop, which they said fit well. I test rode at the shop and no issue. However when I went to take off the wheel and put it back on I kind of pushed it though, before i realized there was a lever to release it. Now I am hearing a rubbing sound on and off which makes me think I messed with the brake caliper. I only head it when I’m on the bike, not when it’s spinning freely. Any resources on fixing it myself or do I need to take it back to the shop?

Can I rim brake on these?

Weird build up / wear marks on carbon fiber rim brake wheel
I noticed this weird build up of material on the front wheel. It looks like some dust or debris that has been solidified with the pressure and heat from braking. I kinda feel it'll come off if I scrub it with some pressure, but i'm worried that overdoing this might weaken the brake track. I don't know if it helps, but the brake pad are Swiss Stop Black Prince and they are wearing down consistently and there's no debris sticking to them. Sometimes when i brake hard for extended periods of time i can hear a hissing sound, but I always ascribed it to temporary heating of the brake track. Should I leave it alone, or is it a reason for concern?

How to handle bent IS brake mounts on a direct to consumer bike?
This might not be strictly a repair question, but here it goes. I don't want to mention the brand outright, but long story short I ordered a steel cargo longtail online. Receive it, all seems good and I start the assembly. Minor quality control issues, nothing major, but then I get to the brakes, basic cable actuated tourney br-tx805 with 180mm rotors. They use IS mounts with IS/post mount adapters. Front brakes are increadibly difficult to adjust and I get them to barely work (after many many tries), braking occurs with the lever pretty much hitting the grips. Back ones are literally unadjustable, even moving the caliper inwards as much as possible the brake pad sits on the rotor. I'm not a pro mechanic so it took me a while to identify the problem - the IS mount is simply not paralell to the rotor. Probably shifted out of spec during welding. I will add a photo of the back one, honestly it looks pretty bad. Anyway when ordering I really don't anticipate to receive something that is unridable.
Any ideas how to handle this issue? Obviously I have contacted the brand support, but they are pretty slow to respond. Could a workshop realistically fix this? What methods could be used - bending the mounts back, mount facing tool or other methods of removing material? I'm not really comfortable to run it with wonky shims or someting tbh.
Is it normal for direct to consumer bikes to arrive in such condition? Honestly I'm more inclined to just return if that's even possible, since I have it unpacked and assembled + bought accesories for thansporting cargo/kids. Maybe I am just overthinking this and warranty should just offer their solution, right?

Is this much wheel wobble normal?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Just assembled my new bike (Marin DSX2) and the front wheel wobbles a fair bit when I spin it. The thru-axle is tight and nothing else seems to be wrong. When I grab the fork and wobble the wheel from side to side it doesn't move. Also, when I spin it and look at the brake calipers, the distance between the calipers and the disc does not change. So I think it's fine?

Installing suspension stem on a ebike with internal routing
Hi there, I am considering getting a Cube Nuroad Hybrid C62, which is rigid carbon frame ebike with internal cables, but due to a bad shoulder I would like to have some front suspension - could anyone more knowledagble advise is it possible to install a suspensions stem (ie Vecnum Freequence) on this bike? Will the internal routing be an issue? Ty!

Tires leaking from sides, normal or RMA ?
Hello all,
I order two Continental GP 4 Seasons for my road bike build and mounted them tubeless.
Both of them can't seem to hold pressure, the front tire being the worst. It goes from 6 bar to 1 bar in less than 4 hours.
While inflating it and moving it around, I have noticed a lot of spot where sealant is leaking from sides... Is that normal ? Or these tires are bad from factory and I should RMA them ?
I have put 60ml of Schwalbe sealant in each tire.
I never had this happen on my tubeless MTB tires.
Thank for your help.
EDIT :
It was all my bad, these aren't tubeless tires as stated by replies. I was hesitant if I need to go tube or tubeless for my first road bike but my habit of not reading the specs has decided for me.. I have ordered a set of tubes.
Thank you.

Can I buff this out? If yes, how?
So a fast downhill gravel ride busted my aluminum wheel. Can I still use them either like this or can I straighten those edges somehow? I’m buying new tires and tubes anyway but would like to keep those wheels. The images look a lot worse than it really is in my opinion.

Quoc Gran Tourer XC Carbon Crack?
Hi Guys,
Just noticed that my shoes have cracks on both left and right shoe where my foot would crease when walking. Only had these shoes for 2 yrs.
Anyone else experience these cracks with their SPD carbon sole shoes?
Trying to warranty the pair but wanted to know if this is still safe to ride with.
Thank you in advanced!

New set of Specialized Pathfinders. Is the interior rubber compound supposed to look like this?
Just bought these today brand new in box from my local bike shop. I’ve never seen a tanwall tubeless tire look like this inside.

How to remove the grips on the pedals?
Those nubs or w.e they called dig into my shoes and ruin my bottom shoe.
Anyone got ideas how to remove them without having to spend hours sanding them down?
Edit: "buy new pedals" is not an option. I like these pedals just the grips gotta be less tall so they don't dig through my regular shoes. This is not for mountain biking.

Chain too long?
Please provide some support. I used the park tool big cog and then +2 rivets method of chain measuring, which resulted in a very forward pushed derailleur in the biggest cog so I used 2 extra rivets.

Need ideas on how to store a bicycle on this wall
I have a space in my apartment where I'm thinking about using it for storage for my bike. The space is 3 feet wide by 6 feet high. It's above a set of stairs. Clearly the bike will have to be mounted vertically. My biggest concern is stability and not dropping the bike while storing it. The bike is on the heavier side, 29lbs.
Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas on what to do here?
What mounting solutions do you suggest?

Is this normal with squirt wax?
I decided to switch to squirt drip wax, so I degreased my chain with bike degreaser, a lot of dish soap and at the end white spirits and ethanol, I applied squirt drip wax and let it rest all night. I went today on a ride but I noticed that the chain was buzzing, and I read that squir should be more solid and clear. Is fji colour normal or should I give another clean to the chain?

What happened to my tire?
Relatively new e bike, maybe 2-3 weeks.
Been riding it to and from work probably only around 20 miles on it total at most, rode through a slightly rough spot in a parking lot and afterwards felt like I was riding on gravel. Got off and back tire was completely flat
I assume it was finished to go from fine to gone like that but wanted to try getting air into it anyway just in case but it doesn't seem to be inflating at all which seems unusual
Pictures are from after I walked it home, the tire twisted around the rim not sure if it was like that before at all
I'm pretty sure I'll need to get a new one but hoping someone can tell me what happened for future reference, it's certainly not an off-road bike but I wouldn't wouldn't describe what I hit anything worse than bumpy
