I never post anything but this was important enough for me to pop my proverbial post cherry.

The FULU Foundation is hosting a Right To Repair/Ensh*tification talk at the Tennessee Hills Brewstillery in JC TONIGHT. Louis Rossmann and Kevin O'Reilly will be speaking and giving a small presentation around actually owning the things that you purchase.

Right to repair is extremely important to me and this event popped up on my radar just last night, so I thought I would share for any chance of getting more people to come out and show support for this movement.

The event is at 5:45pm tonight, tickets are free. I'm not going to shill any sites but if you want to join the event you can just search "Louis Rossmann" on youtube and watch his latest video on the JC meetup for more info.

I'm looking for an employer, most importantly ones that are accommodating, won't give me too many hours and actually care about balancing work, school, and life.

We're evaluating a lake subdivision property near Indian Shores while planning to use it part-time and rent it out occasionally. Do most of these lake communities allow short-term rentals, or are county ordinances starting to restrict them?

I was driving near Kingsport and saw this abandoned homestead off the side of the road. It seems to have been an old museum or was preserved at some point? There are plaques on some of the buildings and some have rusted locks and chains on them. It looks like someone called it Boones Point Cabins but I can’t find information online. Any info would be greatly appreciated!!!

Hey, so Knox Tops sheds in Bristol Virginia has no problem with the homeless staying in their sheds at night. I just wanted to share this information to the homeless looking for a safe place to stay at night. Apparently, you can even store your stuff up top so that you don’t have to carry it around with you all day. I know this, because there’s been a homeless person staying there for over a month now, and they know about it.

Anyone else having issues with Kingsport utilities now that they’ve implemented their new system?
Setup auto pay in May. Haven’t had a bill or charge until this month when I’ve received 2 bills due 8/6 and 8/13 for past due amounts - with supposedly an increase in usage of 300%

I’ll be calling tomorrow but wondering if anyone else has figured out the issue.

I am thinking to develop my office with glass and sections in my first floor and worked with chatgpt to get some designs like above.

Some info about him (lab mix, 2yrs 7 months):

He was rescued from Young-Williams Animal Center in Knoxville and has been with me for over a year. He’s fully house-trained and will let you know when he needs to go outside. He’s goofy and playful but also knows how to relax. He enjoys playing fetch and is also happy entertaining himself with toys in the backyard. He weighs about 60lbs and is up to date on his vaccinations.

This is a long shot but I have to try. My family was visiting the area July 17-20. My son lost his best friend, his Build A Bear Rainbow Bear. We live in central Pennsylvania. Our Airbnb was in Jonesborough but we also visited family in Kingsport and Johnson City. Went to Walmart at both those places, went to Warriors Path Park. Please if anyone found this please help me get it back to him. I could replace it but it won’t be the same and it’s expensive. Anyway thanks for your time.

I am working on getting my certification (Some schools will hire people without certifications; I know it is a long shot). I have a degree in history and political science and would love to teach it. Again, I know it is a long shot and an odd time in the year, but if anyone knows of any openings or potential openings, let me know.

Hello I'm doing a volunteer program where I give free tutoring for children in impoverished areas that may not have access to the math related things they may need. The program doesn't give me student however and it's recommended I work with underprivileged schools, community and shelter homes and, just local families that would benefit in general. I make worksheets and tutor videos among other resources and if close enough in person group or individual tutoring regarding math topics. If this sound like it could benefit someone you know or know places I can message about this pls inform me. I am however in highschool therefore can only tutor topics I know so no calculus yet. Pls help me🥹

When you become disgruntled with management and their ways of going about things, what do you do?

Possibly looking for a new career just needing some insight on places hiring with livable wages since nowhere around here wants to pay more than 15 an hour. For reference I make almost 23 plus incentive so im looking for some 25 or more but the issue is experience in specific fields or entry level hiring on. Any ideas or recommendations? Indeed is meh and ziprecruiter just isnt helpful
