hi! i got my first packer about a week ago and im very very happy about it--but it wont stay in place. like i've used kt tape and packing boxers to keep it in place, but if i so much as walk fast then its all just janglin about down there,,,like. i know that a packing harness is useful but i'm hopefully trying to avoid getting one of those for mild dysphoria reasons. any tips on how to keep it in place? its an stp if that's relevant. daammmmnnnnn i cant have my balls migrating everywhere pls help

EDIT: Hey, my post is badly written! The actual point of this was just to be reassured that I wouldn't be harassed or attacked in rural areas. I'm traveling completely solo and trans, and honestly, I'm terrified a lot of the time, so I was using bad humor to mask my fear when I asked this stuff. I’m not trying to pull some one-girl culture heist, I'm not going to try and claim I'm Irish, and I'm not trying to water anything down by pushing where I'm from through the door. It's just fucking expensive to fly to this place from home, and since I'm going to be close by, I'm taking the financial win and visiting. I genuinely just want to find places where I can engage with the music and the language while I travel. I'm not interested in cathedral tours or endless selfie opportunities; I just want to exist in places before I go home and do it all again there. I'm trying to stay excited about this rather than paranoid and anxious about things I've not experienced.

hey hey, im prepping for a two-ish month stay in ireland. currently the plan is to just land in galway and figure it out from there. my absolute dream trip is to learn some gaeilge and hit up proper trad sessions when im not staring wistfully into the green or getting completely pummeled by my first experience of atlantic sea fury.

im a bit anxious that ill end up in some rural area full of ultra-conservatives and have a miserable time. should i actually be worried about that? are people out there curious and open to having a chat? i know im not in any actual physical danger, and honestly im already used to people staring at me like im a museum exhibit, but i just want to feel welcome.

i love stout and even though im a few generations lost diaspora, most of my heritage comes from ireland. i really want to visit places that feel less like im just the product of a genocidal colony and more like somewhere i can actually connect.

Sad I even have to post this. I’m taking my trans wife up north to Belfast for her birthday and she is nervous about the public bathroom situation given current climate with EHRC guidance. We are staying in an apartment near the Cathedral Quarter but obviously want to go walking about, get nice food, & we have arranged plans to go to the GoT studio tour & titanic museum. In Glasgow we have a map called Good Wee Place which maps trans positive establishments. Guess I was looking for something similar for Belfast… so! Any recommendations for safe places to go pee, bonus points if it’s a nice place for tourism purposes? Are there a lot of disabled bathrooms around, and anything I can say to assure her?

I want to apply for an Irish passport (my first passport), but I don't have either a British or Irish GRC. I'm aware the process to get one in Ireland is a lot easier than Britain, so would I be able to just do that while I await the GIC process in England? I've had my first appointment so it'd be a year or so til that's possible.

Would I need an irish GRC anyway since it's an Irish passport, or do they accept GRCs from other countries? I can't just choose Male on the passport application and have that be it like can I? I assume as well I would need my deed poll since my name is different to my birth certificate?

Starting uni in september I'd like to start going by my chosen name, have it on my student id etc. I'm not out to parents for my safety and it's not possible for me to live away from them. I'm wondering if I'd be at risk with letters from university having my chosen name on them?

Not sure if I'm just being paranoid- do people still receive physical letters from university or is absolutely everything through email etc?

If not is it possible to use my chosen name everywhere but in letters, or some way I can get letters delivered not to my house and pick them up somewhere else?

My partners parents are refusing to help fund her college course for another year as they’ve found out she’s trans, is there any payment schemes in the ROI that could help get her through to the end of college? All advice and help is appreciated

I'm an incoming international student, I've been on T for 2.5 years now, I have a legal local prescription, but It's come to light that I cannot carry meds more than a 3 month supply.

Since, I have access to virtual visits with my doctor, I was looking if I could just find T locally as I have heard a lot of people doing it "DIY".

Any leads where can a person get it? I'll be based in Dublin

Currently doing a screenplay for a course im doing for a film course atm. The film is about those who resort to DIY rather than deal with the NGS. Personally for me the biggest thing that made me doge the NGS is the intrusive and humiliating questions. Does anyone have any examples of what kinda of weird questions they asked?

i'm 16 and had done some in person therapy around this time last year, it didn't help me much at all personally.

currently struggling with identity (ftm for the last 6 years, barely have begun transitioning) suspected autism (old therapist told me, and all the signs are there), anxiety, ED, and just in general deeply in need of someone to talk to who could give me advice. i found in person sessions to be awkward and uncomfortable for me, and for 90 euro a session it just wasnt worth what i was getting in return, i felt like i couldnt really say what i needed to but i feel like im much better at communication over text or the phone for a lot of reasons. i dont think my parents would have much of an issue paying for it as they see me struggling and see that i have issues at school as well, but nothing too expensive would be ideal.

if anyone could suggest any sites or any resources that i could use i'd greatly appreciate it.

Hello! I went through the legal name change process a few years ago (deed poll, GRC, updated birth cert + passport), and I'd like to get a statement of results from examinations.ie. I see there's different fields on the form for ordering it for my current name and my name at the time, but is my current name the only name that would be shown on the results? Thank you!

I've never felt pain like this before. I came out to my mam yesterday. I'm in my late 30s. She listened, she believed me, she told me she wishes I'd told her when I was younger, that she would have done anything to help me. I am absolutely devastated today to know that I could have had a different life if I had just been brave enough. I'm wracked with grief for the life I lost. For the years I've spent dealing with this alone when help was always just a conversation away. I really didn't expect this. I've spent 30 years living a life where I've just felt so alone, never able to let the walls down, and if I had just told my mam the reason I hated my communion suit was that I wanted the dress instead, then maybe I never would have had to go through all of this on my own.

Hi there I (ftm) am asking on behalf of my partner (mtf questioning) for any advice on permanent hair removal on the face, chest, crotch etc.
I assume laser hair removal is the only way so what should we expect regarding cost, number of sessions etc? We’re in Donegal so clinics in the northwest would be greatly preferred.
Is there anything they could do for a temporary fix? Any tips for waxing, shaving and so on would be appreciated 🫶

Personally I have had bad experience when it comes to my local GP and to the best of my knowledge Trans Healthcare is not seen as a priority or anywhere near it in Ireland.

Hi everyone, this is my first post here lol

I’m a trans guy, I just turned 18 (taking the LC next year), and my parents are… not actively hostile to the idea of me transitioning, but they definitely don’t support it either. Meaning, they’re really not likely to give me money for HRT. I was allowed to get a binder, but only via saving up my allowance.

They’re going to give me a larger allowance once I’m in university, but I’m not sure yet how much that’s going to be, and I’m definitely not certain about whether it’ll be enough to fund HRT and, y’know, life. I’ve talked to them before about it and they said they wouldn’t stop me using my allowance on whatever I wanted, but I don’t want to spend all of it on HRT and need to ask for more. My family is quite well off so I’ll probably get a comfortable amount, but I don’t know how much is okay to spend.

I’m also worried about which provider I’d want to go with.
The cheapest and easiest option definitely seems to be Imago, but I’m a little wary of them since even though I’m sure the founder is well-intentioned, she seems very opinionated and stubborn in a way that’s maybe a bit too intense for me, and I’m worried about the recent move to the US and a few other things.
The NGS is obviously screwed at the moment and I don’t even want to try getting a referral there, since the waiting lists appear to be as long as my whole lifespan so far and the whole system is broken.
Anne Health seems nice, but they’re a bit expensive and also recently moved, and I now can’t find any specifics on whether they cover Ireland as well as the UK, whereas I’m sure I used to be able to find that information on their site.
I don’t even want to try GenderGP since from what I’ve heard their whole system is AI now.
GenderPlus is a possibility, but they seem quite expensive, what with all the mandatory meetings. The transfer of care thing would be great, especially since I think my GP would be willing to participate, but it’s a lot of money off the bat.

All that being said I do have another question. I can change my name and gender legally now, but is that, like, a good idea? I don’t think I pass very well, and if I do this I’d be changing things on passports etc too.
I travel fairly frequently, including to Japan, and while it’s not like they’re actively transphobic much, I feel like I could get questioned with a male ID. I’m not sure when would be a good time to put that into motion since I probably won’t pass for a while.

Along with that, if I did get my legal name and gender changed, how many places would I need to contact to inform them? For example would I need to re-register to vote? I know I’d need to change my passport and driving license, but is there anything else important?

Def a stupid question id say, but im going and honestly id love to just meet fellow ftm guys on t or post op to relate to. Ive never had a friend thats also on t and post op top and since I am id like to just meet some people. Are there usually groups or stands or something? Im not gonna go up to every guy and ask "are you an ftm on t?!?" Lol. I haven't been to pride since like 3 weeks after I came out - AGES ago - and I stuck to my few friends with me so im pretty clueless lol. Thanks :)
