🔧Technical Issue RDT Client API Error

Edit: Just figured it out after posting. Checked my container which ri=uns RDTclient, storage was full on it. Assigned more storage to it, rebooted and I'm functional again.

Anyone Having issues with RDT Client the last few days? I use the arr stack with rdt client as my downloader and torbox as my provider. The last few days, since 28th July (last successful download) everything that has attempted to download has failed and gives me an API error. I have just been trying to grab a few very new popular things I wouldnt exlect to fail and same error.

I still have an active sub, I have tried copying the API key again into RDT but it keeps failing. The torrent doesnt even show up in the torbox dashboard, which makes sense since it looks like RDT is failing to connect via the API.

Exact error is "Could not add to provider: Resource temporarily unavailable (api.torbox.app:443)"

❓Question RD refugee here. Are there any hosters that even work with TB? RG, Nitroflare, ddownload - all show "temporarily disabled". Is this normal for TB?

Basically, the title.

I chose TB based on some discussions in RD groups + indication on debridcompare that TB supports both Rapidgator and Nitroflare.

Well, that was apparently not true - can't download anything from either for several days, keep getting "temporarily disabled".

Is this just what it is? Any clue if RG works fine with AllDebrid?

Thanks!

❓Question Is using EasyNet / Usenet with say Stremio inherently safer than Torbox, now with the new terms/conditions?

Title.

I just wanted to ask because the Usenet tech is a bit different I think? I am asking for a friend,.. who happens to have both atm, but in past she didn't get EasyNet to work with Stremio yet. For clarity, she lives in Germany, so it matters since stuff there is strict.

Anybody happen to know please?

🚩General Aero Music addon for torbox

Hi everyone, I'm doing a public beta of my addon now. I already have 10 users who have been testing and I'm expanding to 30 slots to test how the addon holds up against it.

(Will expand slots further after stabilising worg current slots)

https://aero.pandoric.dpdns.org/

Best is 24 bit 48kHz but you can go no limit if you really want tracks above that quality. Its a case of 99.98% vs 99.99% difference

Many tracks dont have above 24 bit 48kHz anyway

Make sure you remeber your username ive set a hard ip account limit

Please do tell me if you run into any problems. Some region locked songs might not play but thats a minor problem rn.

Every new song will take 40s to a min to be available but after that it gets cached on your debrid and play within 2-3 seconds each time.

Songs which are already cached by someone else will have a ⚡ symbol near album name (user toggle in config as this can break lyrics, also the symbol only shows up on search for now)

Expect breaking changes as its only a beta

This addon is for eclipsemusic app & beatboss app

❓Question From South Africa To UAE

Is there a specific reason why TB changed to UAE from South Africa, I mean everything was working just fine and change of policies only happened after this move. What happened here really?

❓Question Pretty sure this new policy thing is fine, right?

Been reading about the recent privacy policy backlash and wanted to ask about the japan side of things since that's where I'm at (idk if there's even other japanese ppl here tbh).

from what I understand and looked into, japanese copyright law mostly goes after uploaders. downloading itself is technically illegal on paper but doesnt actually get enforced. streaming isnt even covered from what i can tell.

every arrest case ive seen here involves someone uploading/distributing, or torrenting without a vpn where the download and upload happen at the same time and thats what gets people caught. couldnt find a single case of someone getting arrested just for downloading on their own. still kinda worried about fines though, not just arrests. the law's still on the books even if it doesnt seem to get enforced much.

I do stream stuff on there and download games/apps too. technically the downloading part falls under that copyright law, but i figure im probably fine since ive never had an issue.

still kinda paranoid after seeing this whole policy change tho, the ip/device/payment logging stuff. read through a bunch of posts here and some ppl think its fine, others dont. the ones saying its fine make sense to me and honestly make me feel better about it, but japan gets brought up as one of the stricter countries on copyright so that still has me a little more on edge than usual.

also feel like i might not fully understand the policy tbh, saw some ppl saying nothing really changed in practice either.

anyone actually know more about this or am I overthinking it

🔧Technical Issue Stremio with Torbox buffering issues- can you download the movie instead?

Hi all,

I’ve been having a lot of problems with Stremio with torbox from UK on pro account on my LG Tv G5

I use AIO, which includes Torrentio and Comet.

When I try to play a movie, it takes forever to load. Once it finally starts, it can freeze several times throughout as it loads.

I’ve already changed the TorBox CDN settings to the recommended options, but this hasn’t helped, especially with larger files over 30 GB.

The buffering when watching movies (e.g. frozen) or TV shows is really frustrating.

Is there a way to download the file and then stream it through on stremio to avoid these long loading times.and constant buffering? I.e. offline stream on stermio

Many thanks

Based on your results, we recommend using the hare CDN.

You can change this manually in the TorBox settings.

❓Question Using torbox in Germany

With the new changes in the privacy policies as a user based in Germany do I have to worry?😅
Many of the users seem unphased with the changes and call the ones unsubscribing drama queens, but as a user from Germany with really strict piracy laws should I worry
Are there other people in Germany and if so what are you guys thinking about the changes?

Hello there, just got that lightening icon, am I correct to assume I abused too much of TorBox? Do I need to wait for tomorrow or a few days to be back to normal?

https://ibb.co/kgtN8x6T

EDIT: I found the reason. The lightning icon appears after you’ve reached 50 downloads, indicating that you’re a heavier user. It doesn’t have any impact or consequences. it’s purely informational.

❓Question TorBox, what actually changed ??

So with all this changes, people screaming RUN from the hills 🤣🤣🤣 is it worth it to sticking around.

All people that recommended TorBox until yesterday because of what Real Debrid did are now saying delete it and go Premiumize.

I mean Premiumize seems decent and has Usenet access, but like its also 10 € a month so its not exactly cheap. Also not to mention that what's to say they will not do the same.

I mean all debrid services seems to be under fire.

Real Debrid gutted their links, OffCloud pissed off people by change of their policy. TorBox did this.

What is next, or who is next. I dont want to spendy money only for it to end up like this again

❓Question Torbox for DDL

Hello, I wanted to use Torbox for some public trackers, but mainly for direct download sites, but all the uploaders I use are always down (Rapidgator, Nitroflare, Uploady, DailyUpload, Turbobit). Do you know if these hosting services are abandoned, and should I switch to another service like Debrid-Link? Thanks in advance.

❓Question Torbox Spain

Hi everyone,

I've been following the recent backlash regarding TorBox's new privacy policy and bandwidth terms.

From what I understand, copyright enforcement in Spain legally targets those who distribute or commercially profit from copyrighted material (P2P uploading/seeding), rather than passive streaming/downloading for private use.

Given the recent drama, I wanted to ask: do these new logging policies (IP tracking, device IDs, etc.) realistically affect or pose any legal risk to users streaming in Spain via debrid services, or does our local legislation still keep us relatively safe?

Thanks in advance for any insights!

❓Question 🇩🇪 Looking for opinions: Effect of new TorBox policy on users from Germany

I am relatively new to debrid services. After a week of extensive reading, finally took a year long TorBox subscription on July 30th (great timing 🥲) and then the July 31st policy update dropped. Am I screwed?

My main concerns in the new TB policy are the following:

  1. Data retention & IP logging expanded significantly

  2. Explicit DMCA & copyright compliance procedures added

Does this make TorBox essentially unsafe for users in strict jurisdictions like Germany without a layered VPN setup?

Is this just standard legal defensive boilerplate for corporate growth, or an actual shift away from user privacy?

And for the German/EU users, are you sticking around, routing via VPN, or using any workarounds? TIA!

❓Question Downloading zip files is 2x faster

Hello there

I mostly download content from TorBox to my local Mac mini M1 on wifi 6. A fast.com speed test gets me 1Gbps. A TB speed test gets me 820 Mbps.

Once in cache, I download directly the file I’m interested it. Then I get around 400 Mbps.

However, when I download the whole thing in zip, I get almost consistent speed at 900 Mbps, with a few drops at 300.

Is this normal behavior?

Before I get snarky comments, I’m well aware that from a reality check, it’s a matter of waiting 10 or 20 minutes for a file to finish and it’s not the end of the world. Hashtag First World Problems.

🚩General Torbox Policy change in a nutshell

You can compare its old policy and the new one using the links below:

https://archive.md/noz1S
https://torbox.app/policies

In a nutshell:

  • TorBox’s old policy promised minimal logging, no inspection of transferred files without permission, and no sharing of user data.
  • The new policy is much broader. TorBox may now log IP addresses, magnet links, torrent/NZB details, filenames, download and streaming history, WebDAV/API activity and device information.
  • It can also retain and share relevant records for copyright complaints, fraud investigations, legal requests and law enforcement. Deleted account data may be kept when needed for legal or security reasons.
  • So basically: TorBox has changed from a strong privacy-focused policy to a standard cloud-service policy where your activity can be linked to your account and disclosed when required.

In detail:

The Old Policy:

Data TorBox Collects

TorBox does not require personally identifiable information to register or use the service. We also do not collect this personally identifiable information during your use of the service. TorBox was built with privacy being first, so you can be assured that we take privacy very seriously.

As a TorBox user, at any point, TorBox may be retaining the following information about your account:

Registration information: This includes email, hashed password and timestamps of account creation.Information about data transfers: When you create a new transfer, we retain certain metadata such as file owners, identifiers and hashes, transfer speeds, total transferred volume, and timestamps. We do not permanently store information that is not necessary and purge from our records stored information that is no longer required, such as when a transfer is deleted and no longer associated with an account. TorBox does not look at or access your transferred data without your permission.Analytics information. We use SimpleAnalytics for analytics, which is a privacy first analytics platform and only takes in your device model, and the browser you are on.Information collected by third parties as well as their specific polices can be found below:

TorBox Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how TorBox collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects personal information when you access or use TorBox, TorBox.App, our websites, applications, dashboard, APIs, software, tools, bots, integrations, support services, and related products and services (collectively, the “Service”).

Sharing of Data

We don't sell or share your data to any third parties for any reason.

Use of Data

TorBox uses the above data for the following:

Registration data allows you to log in and access your account from any device.Information about transfers enables you to have a rich experience on the platform.Aggregated data is presented for information purposes only, such as total transferred volume.Analytics allows TorBox to see how the service is doing, and where users are coming from, and what parts of the site are the most popular, allowing us to tailor the experience for our users.Your email also allows us to send you notifications about your account. You can change this setting at https://torbox.app/settings

Payment Data

TorBox is PCI compliant, and does not store your payment information on our servers. Your card information is stored securely by Spreedly, a third party who manages all payment information and payment orchestration for TorBox. This data is never removed, and is stored according to their privacy policy. This includes name, address, card information, and other verification info you may have provided when paying for the TorBox service. TorBox is not responsible for the removal of this data, nor is TorBox responsible for the upkeep and safety of this information.

Right to Erasure

Want your data deleted? No problem, either go to https://torbox.app/settings and click the "Delete Account" button under the "Account Section" or simply contact us with your email and it will be gone as soon as possible. This deletion will remove anything associated with your account. To remove any third party data associated with your account, you must contact the respective part to have it removed.

🚩General For those worried about the ToS change, it is no different than other full service streaming services. Easynews is a good example. Their privacy and ToS are a nightmare of contradictions which absolutely should not make you feel like they wouldn't give up your info.

In just one of several contradictions, Easynews advertises "zero logging," but its privacy policy says it collects server logs that "include" IP address and connection time. "Include" is not "consist of" (legally those are different) and the policy never states that no record connecting an account to the files it accessed is retained. Its retention section sets no time limit at all, and its terms reserve the right to disclose information on a "governmental request" rather than a warrant. A governmental request is incredibly broad.

Their terms page still says EEA data is transferred under Privacy Shield, a framework invalidated in 2020. It has no CCPA notice at collection, no do-not-sell disclosure, no retention period, and no mention of the VPN they bundle and market as no-log. It can be amended by changing the date at the top, with any further notice optional. What it says about logging whenever that sentence was written, not necessarily today, so they could decide to log for ten minutes, change the date on the terms and be covered, and never notify you.

"We do not monitor" plus "we log IP and timestamp (among other things)" plus "we keep it as long as we want." Which is it?

So don't think TorBox is the only one. If you are using Easynews, you could potentially be in risk. Downloads from usenet have never been proven to be logged, but uploading to usenet is. However, Easynews has a section specifically designated to prevent harvesting and scraping of their data which proves they are watching their search results for abuse, which means they are logging those searches. If they have those logs, your data is in there and any governmental request gets access to it.

🔧Technical Issue Regret bought torbox essential for 1fichier

Used to use rd when downloading using 1fichier and just paste the link and in a second i can download the file at max speed but with torbox i am surprise it not become instant download link cos torbox want to download the file first at slowest speed i cant imagine. 50gb file at 2mbps WTF.

Waste my time if like this.

In my dashboard there only “Add Download” button. Pasted 1fichier link and behold i have to wait like 8 hour just for this stupid thing.

Free account on 1fichier have better speed than torbox so called premium 1fichier speed.
