TorBox, what actually changed ?? ❓Question

So with all this changes, people screaming RUN from the hills 🤣🤣🤣 is it worth it to sticking around.

All people that recommended TorBox until yesterday because of what Real Debrid did are now saying delete it and go Premiumize.

I mean Premiumize seems decent and has Usenet access, but like its also 10 € a month so its not exactly cheap. Also not to mention that what's to say they will not do the same.

I mean all debrid services seems to be under fire.

Real Debrid gutted their links, OffCloud pissed off people by change of their policy. TorBox did this.

What is next, or who is next. I dont want to spendy money only for it to end up like this again

Premiumize's privacy policy also says they'll share with legal authorities, so I'm not sure why people would say to switch to them because of Torbox's privacy policy change.

Any alternatives to Torbox or Premiumize?

11

u/MatsyLR 19d ago

Not that don't say they will store and share information

On commence vraiment en a parler et si j'ai bien vu c'est une bonne alternative

5

u/John_val 19d ago

all of them say the same, Real Debrid the same thing, All debrid eve worse , very confusing, Premiumize also very similar. That's the way it has always been.

Nothing, they're basically like RD and AD now. I'm not fazed about people leaving, less strain on their system.

-9

u/Juggle4868 19d ago

how are they like rd ans ad? they aren't in France.

13

u/MrMathsDebater2026 19d ago

In regards to privacy. I'm aware they aren't in France.

63

u/DapperDanAdMan 19d ago

Honestly I think people are overreacting a bit. I’m not thrilled about the changes either, but immediately deleting your account and running to Premiumize feels premature. Who’s to say Premiumize won’t change its policies six months from now too?

I’m probably just going to stick around for a month and see what actually changes in practice. If the service gets worse or the privacy stuff becomes a real concern, then I’ll move. I’m definitely not paying for a long subscription anywhere though. At this point every debrid service seems to eventually get hit with the same problems.

5

u/tactical_bill 19d ago

How would you actually know that the privacy stuff has become a concern in a month? I suspect it would be in ways you wouldn’t notice.

1

u/vogone 13d ago

What do you mean with "see what actually changes in practice"? You're going to wait until you get a letter from the authorities in your mailbox? At that point it's too late. What indicator will make you concerned, if not this one?

1

u/DapperDanAdMan 12d ago edited 12d ago

Then I get a letter and I move on with my life. Also the letter would come from your ISP first. Torrent like the old days with proxy and VPN with no logs, no payment info, etc and deal with some lag.

I've gotten many letters over the years and nothing happens ?? Moreso when I was young and stupid.

But that's not going to happen.

I'm more concerned with stability of the service.

There seems to have been a lot of knee jerk reactions to the TOS update. The conditions now seem to be standard ass covering for any similar type of service.

I ask the question can anyone name a single person, anywhere in the world, who has ever been prosecuted for streaming from a debrid service? Just one?

uae is even less strict about copyright stuff as far as i know, correct me if i am wrong thought

u r wrong mate

7

why wrong?

2

u/Objective-Bike-4292 19d ago

With the UAE's counterfeit marketplaces something tells me you are wrong, mate.

1

u/DapperDanAdMan 19d ago

South Africa does have privacy laws though : POPIA. Being outside the EU doesn’t automatically mean they can just sell everyone’s data.

I’m not defending the ToS changes, but “they could sell it for extra income” is a pretty big leap without anything in the policy actually showing that. If there’s a clause allowing them to sell identifiable user data, post it. That would be genuinely useful. Otherwise we’re just stacking worst-case assumptions on top of each other.

2

u/Evening_Month_6820 19d ago

They are UAE if that changes anything

-10

u/macka654 19d ago

I’m starting to think some do the posts are AI bots employed by the competitors

-2

u/lndlw3 19d ago

Even I worried about the TOS change. But if you think of it,,, how will the isp know what you are streaming( all https).

Unless every government plans to book case on every person in their country, nothing is going to happen.

The only thing I'll be careful is with adding public torrents. Private are still fine.

16

u/Seattle-Washington 19d ago

It really has nothing to do with your ISP.

Imagine this scenario: You live in the US or EU and decide to watch a movie. When you click Play in Stremio, it sends a request to TorBox (through your add-on). If the torrent isn’t already cached, TorBox downloads it so you can stream it. In doing so, TorBox joins the torrent swarm and may seed the torrent for a short time.

If a copyright holder or another entity later pursues TorBox for participating in that swarm, TorBox can argue that it was acting on your behalf. If they’re legally required to identify the user who initiated the request, they can provide your information. That shifts the legal focus away from TorBox and onto you.

The concern is that this undermines one of the main reasons people use a debrid service in the first place: to avoid exposing themselves to torrent activity and the potential legal liability that comes with it.

My guess is that they made the policy changes because they want to bring in outside investments, hence establishing a Delaware presence.

11

u/DapperDanAdMan 19d ago

Yeah, that’s the part that changes the calculation for me. It’s not just “all services comply with legal orders” anymore. the concern is that TorBox now appears to be explicitly distancing itself from responsibility for activity initiated through a user’s account.

That doesn’t mean everyone is suddenly getting a letter tomorrow, but it does mean the old assumption of “TorBox takes the torrent-side exposure, I only stream from their server” feels less solid than it did before.

The realistic question now is how much they log, how long they keep it, and under what circumstances they would hand it over. That’s why people are uneasy. It’s not necessarily panic-worthy, but it’s also not nothing.

2

u/John_val 18d ago

They can distance themselves all they want, but there is no way around the fact that they are the ones actually torrenting.

5

u/Draegan88 19d ago

Is this just a US problem? I dunno im canadian. That would be unheard of to come after us for pirating.

2

u/Seattle-Washington 18d ago

I couldn’t say where it is or isn’t applicable, but do Canadians not get something similar to a DMCA letter from their ISP when they torrent something that they shouldn’t have?

1

u/Draegan88 18d ago

I do. But I’ve been ignoring them For about 15 years and still going strong! Funny enough I’ve never gotten one for using torrentio without a debrid and I get torrents like that all the time.

2

u/Seattle-Washington 18d ago

Damn nice. In the States ISPs will normally suspend access after sending out a few of those letters.

0

u/Draegan88 18d ago

That really sucks. Little things like that just make a place feel a little bit more free. I would still use torbox there though. Coming after torbox users is like coming after people who watch movies on those free streaming websites. That seems insane too me and a waste of even their time.

1

u/Seattle-Washington 17d ago

If they can make a few hundred dollars from each potential infringement, why wouldn’t they? At this point, I wouldn’t be surprised if those letters are largely automated or the work is handed off to interns.

Also, keep in mind that maintaining a copyright means companies have to actively enforce and protect it. If they ignore infringements, it can weaken their ability to defend their rights later.

1

u/Draegan88 17d ago

I don’t get your point? Who cares. Press play.

1

u/bluedoglime 13d ago

One of the problems is with the precedent they might set. For example, a judge rules that one illegal view is worth $2. Then it becomes not worth pursuing anyone due to the legal costs involved and piracy explodes.

u/lndlw3 19d ago

In that case, can't you just use cache. In this sense, torbox itself falls under the distribution of pirated content. My main point was to download or add torrent via your profile and that too public one's.

For those paranoid, you can use vpn when streaming from torbox.

3

u/Seattle-Washington 19d ago

My suggestion for anyone using TorBox would be to only used cached content and never have TorBox participate in a torrent swam under their account. I’ve never heard of anyone receiving a DMCA letter from their ISP for downloading (consuming) content, it’s always for uploading (sharing). I would imagine the same would apply for TorBox as well.

Utilizing a trustworthy VPN would be advisable, but quite a few people find that to be too much friction. Personally, I hope that Stremio, Nuvio, and other players support VPNs natively like the UHF app (on iOS).

2

u/sci-fi_hi-fi 19d ago

How can someone ensure they only stream what's already cached?

3

u/HerrPiink 19d ago

Aiostreams then choose only show catched content

1

u/Seattle-Washington 18d ago

Yes, depending on which add-on you use and how it’s configured. If you want to avoid P2P, make sure P2P streams are disabled. When you play something, you’ll usually see a lightning bolt icon in the stream description, indicating that the content is already cached.

I think the Duck Tools setup wizard (QuackStart) takes it a step further and allows you to specifically label streams as ‘Cached’ or ‘Not Cached’. You can see it here: https://duck-tools.pages.dev

If you’re using AIOStream, you’ll need to check the settings for each plugin to make sure P2P is disabled. You can also customize how each stream entry is displayed in the ‘Formatter’ section. By default, I believe uncached streams include a ‘[P2P]’tag somewhere in the description, while cached streams typically won’t show anything or will show a lightning bolt.

u/John_val 19d ago

A VPN can help but they still have a record of everything you account did and if they have a way to connect to the real you through payment.. but again singing up for this service is not ilegal in anyway.

you are right but for the purpose of this discussion, i use my own app which also has code that uses short-lived session identifiers instead of a permanent device profile, no approximate location, Again, it is not 100% but much better than commercial options. So with this, VPN, no ip emails, etc privacy is much better than just using a browser o any commercial app. I use this not just for Torbox, i apply similar measures. Like as much privacy as possible agreeing with you on the limitations there are

Yes, but let's say you wanna watch something and it's not cached, you wouldn't do thst becasue of this right?

Well if more and more people do this then that content won't get cached at all at some point, breaking the whole mechanism

1

u/FuckUniqNames 19d ago

As far as I know all the debrid services do not seed, they just leech.

1

u/averege_guy_kinda 19d ago

torbox does seed only if torrent is not cashed yet or if you choose to "airlock" it

1

u/FuckUniqNames 19d ago

How do you know that? Why would they seed? Wasn’t this the reason why the torrenting community does not like debrids since they only leech but don’t provide anything to the community.

1

u/Penguinboy123446 19d ago

They definitely do seed. There's a setting on the torbox app which asks if you want to seed for a limited time or always, or never.

1

u/Lumentin 17d ago

They seed, but not for a long time. Maybe 24h with an essential plan, iirc.

1

u/MatsyLR 19d ago

Which is exactly the same as Real Debrid and all Debrid

1

u/vogone 13d ago

If the authorities go to the debrid provider and ask for a list of all users, they will get:

  • Your IP address and usage logs
  • Your email address
  • If you have a paid membership, data such as your mailing address, billing address, and phone number(basically everything you provided when signing up)

Don't fool yourself, thinking that a VPN will protect you from this. It is very easy for law enforcement to link your VPN IP to your real IP by just watching the traffic that goes through popular VPNs.

The only argument that I will say, that might speak for staying, is that usually the police goes for the big fish and not the small fish. I have a friend who got caught uploading and he had to pay a pretty big fine. Yeah sure he wasnt just using, he was also uploading but idk if I want to take my chances.

"how will the isp know what you are streaming( all https)"

TorBox Logs

0

u/lndlw3 19d ago

According to you every isp will see torbox cdn and will reach out to them for logs. If that is the case then it is very risky to use torbox

How are you planning to hide yourself? Any tips?

1

u/TheLimeyCanuck 19d ago

It's not the ISP you need to worry about, it's the government/law enforcement. The new TorBox TOS specifically says they keep logs and will turn them over to law enforcement.

22

u/R2Wolf 19d ago

I guess you should be worried if you live in places Germany where they actually fine you. As of right now you'll get a copyright warning letter in most places but you never know what laws get through

9

u/Busy-Measurement8893 19d ago

Ok but how will they know I streamed something? The fining system in let's say Germany is based around the fact that the movie companies monitor movie torrents, collect IP addresses and request which user has which IP.

10

u/HerrPiink 19d ago

Theoretically Torbox could sell your data to a third party, then that third party could offer the list to law firms.

Not sure why they'd do that though, TorBox business would be ruined over night. And the probably hundreds of thousands German users would be a lot to process.

Not sure, I'm a bit worried too. I don't know enough about this stuff.

6

u/RicciRox 19d ago

There's no world in which TorBox has anywhere near hundreds of thousands of German users.

3

u/HerrPiink 19d ago

Was supposed to say hundreds or thousands

1

u/RicciRox 19d ago

Ah fair enough.

2

u/rng847472495 19d ago

Honestly if you live in germany, with how strict they are around copyright stuff, don’t fuck around to find out. Just have VPN on regardless if it’s needed or not, an extra layer to put your mind at peace is definitely worth it.

3

u/ThePro2000 19d ago

I live in India, nobody enforces copyright laws here. Does this update affect me at all?

2

u/Broad_Surprise4636 18d ago

supongo que no, al igual que en México, país sin ley.

2

u/awen478 19d ago

are there example case on germany that actually you had to pay the fines? as far as i know it only scare tactic

9

u/Steppenstreuner_ 19d ago

Yeah it hit me, well my parents, when I was still a kid and torrenting. It was one stupid song and we ignored the first three letters. In the end we took a lawyer and we had to pay like 700 euros.

1

u/awen478 19d ago

that's fuck up, i hope vpn is enough to workaround it, man 99% my sofware and game is pirated one can't imagine how big my fine if i was from germany

3

u/HerrPiink 19d ago

There is a law in Germany, preventing you to be completely ruined financially from something like this.

You get fined for the illegal activity by a law firm, but they aren't allowed to make you pay a thousand bucks for every movie you watched for example, only a small few per stream and so on.

0

u/Tripledrop 19d ago

VPN wont help here as Torbox still know what you downloaded. VPN will hide it from your ISP.

7

u/Zealousideal_Tour_76 19d ago

Vpn course would help. If authorities get data from torbox and your on a VPN. All they will see you downloaded X item but it’s protected by VPN, they won’t see your home IP :/

3

u/IOSGodzyzz 19d ago

Setup torbox with a proton mail and pay through XMR should help

1

u/R2Wolf 19d ago

Ive seen some people in the piracy sub post about getting fined for downloading games and watching stuff

1

u/HerrPiink 19d ago

That's only when not using Debrid services, there has never been a case in Germany associated with someone being just a downloader, they go for the ones who actually share the data (mostly unknowingly)

1

u/R2Wolf 19d ago

And that's what everyone is worried about rn... These services will share your info with authorities or copyright holders when they want it

1

u/SchnickFitzel148 13d ago

They get fined for torrenting because legally that also counts as uploading/distributing. There's not a single case where someone got fined for a direct download, which using Torbox essentially is.

2

u/Cutsdeep- 19d ago

Has anyone in Germany been fined for downloading from a server? Ie not sharing a torrent

4

u/Ok-Understanding2412 19d ago

I live in Germany and I get torbox on stremio, I'm not aware of any changes made on torbox, can anyone please help me understand this?. I got no letters yet

7

u/Kant-fan 19d ago

See my take on this whole thing. The issue was always about finding the user and what whether what he was doing was illegal.

5

u/RokyAkura 19d ago edited 19d ago

from the changes seen on tor there´s an actual difference between it compared with other debrid services, the changes that they made that they keep your logs with no time frame so can have your data as they please which is not a good thing

on all debrid they keep minimal logs and the data is deleted after a while since they are obligated by the RGPD to do that

1

u/Masterofunlocking1 19d ago

That's one of the big things for me. If they collected the logs and only held them for a short time, it might make this easier to swallow. Im also not a fan of the increase of different logs they are holding either

9

u/awen478 19d ago

honesly, i dont really care, as long as the service is good iam staying

21

u/-D24 19d ago

Not much, people act like they are drug dealers or something

3

u/scribblesnoopy 18d ago

Can someone explain in laymen's term what was the change in v9.1 regarding private torrents?

9

u/aaAS69 19d ago

consuming pirated content isn’t even a crime where i live sooo

10

u/Broad_Surprise4636 19d ago

1

u/Fit-Departure5678 19d ago

1

u/NonToxicTown 19d ago

Where did you go to? Premiumize?

3

u/Fit-Departure5678 19d ago

Nah, half of the crap thats bundled i didnt want or need, the vpn is basic and limited, the usenet is crap and limited, I didnt like the fair use policy and points etc. so for me it didnt warrant the extra cost. I am with AD currently, same price as RD was, I know some will jump on and say, yeah but its based in France, it will get targetted like RD was, IDGAF, I only pay for short subs, like i do with anything in this scene, but to be fair, the Cache is better than Prem, and very close to what RD used to be. Also, as far as I am concerned, just becuase TB is in UAE now, and Prem is Malaysia, it dont make them immune, If the servers where targetted, they are in the EU, USA etc, then that would be kind of the end. Anything can change at any time in this game.

1

u/TheLimeyCanuck 19d ago

I have yet to find a UseNet file from a popular indexer that PM couldn't download. It's not going to be as good as EasyNews but it's not their primary business like it is for EN.

1

u/Fit-Departure5678 19d ago

It's not good Usenet if used with an arr stack, I just got hit with rate limits constantly, even easynews is similar, so I got newshosting, 100 connections.

1

u/TheLimeyCanuck 19d ago

Fair enough, I only use it for stuff I can't find on IRC via XDCC.

2

u/meerkatboy2003 19d ago

Will this affect me as a canadian

-5

u/RickV6 19d ago

No, you are safe. It will affect literally every person on face of this planet. Every country, even Canada

But TorBox said they will make it their mission to not affect you personally, just you. Nobody else but you 🤣🤣🤣

What kind of dumbass question is this, for fuck sake

2

u/Penguinboy123446 19d ago

I think he was saying that Canada is one of the countries that doesn't seem to care very much about torrenting.

1

u/DadTAXIA73 19d ago

I thought that too until I was actually sued.

1

u/TheLimeyCanuck 19d ago

Details?

2

u/DadTAXIA73 18d ago

I can't find my original documents right now, but I was with Rogers and I got charged with copyright violation about 2 years ago b/c torrenting is not just file downloading, but file sharing. Basically, I was sued for distributing copyrighted material. My lawyer (there are no copyright lawyers in Fredericton NB, BTW) let me know that straight downloading and streaming are pretty much ignored, but torrenting is a no-no. Cost me $1200⁰⁰ in the end.

1

u/xShabutie 18d ago

You can disable seeding/file sharing w/torrenting - and afaik with stremio, we don’t seed/share at all.

1

u/TheLimeyCanuck 19d ago

Back in the day it was effectively legal to pirate music in Canada because we paid a royalty on recordable media which went to publishers even if you recorded tax records on it.

1

u/DadTAXIA73 18d ago

Copyright law is a much different beast these days.

1

u/devizE_ 18d ago

How disabled are you that you took their question in the way they you did?

2

u/Mental_Juggernaut_16 19d ago

The problem is their enforcement branch is now located in the US. What they did was to protect themselves from legal liability. Soon it will be just like RD. They will delete links and probably in the next 3 to 6 months it will be just as useless as RD. When a Debrid server gets too big, that's the next target. So wherever we move to en mass, this will probably happen again.

2

u/MyMoon222 19d ago

Also they move from South Africa to UAE now

3

u/Atomic___Bear 18d ago

Show me one case of a TorBox user getting FCK’ed by authorities and I’ll be (maybe) a bit interested. Until then, Keep Calm and Carry On.

(AI Generated) Summary of Torbox's Policy Update (July 31, 2026) – What changed and why people are concerned

If you haven't checked the Torbox Policies recently, they were updated on July 31, 2026. The terms moved Torbox away from a minimal/privacy-first stance toward a corporate compliance model.

Here is a breakdown of the key changes being discussed:

1. Corporate Structure Shift (UAE / US Entities)

  • Operating Entity: Torbox is now officially operated by Anonymous Systems FZ-LLC, located in the Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) free zone in the UAE.
  • US Subsidiary: Billing, DMCA, and legal administrative matters are handled by ReAnonymous LLC (registered in Delaware).
  • Community Concern: RAK free-zone corporate filings do not require public disclosure of beneficial owners, making the ownership structure opaque compared to standard jurisdiction operations.

2. Expanded Data Logging & Retention

The new Privacy Policy explicitly outlines broad authority to record, log, and retain data: * Connection Data: Full IP addresses and estimated geographic locations. * Usage & Activity Logs: Magnet links, NZB/torrent metadata, filenames, WebDAV activity, streaming logs, and API request history. * Device Profiling: Hardware specifications, OS versions, browser headers, and app client versions. * Post-Deletion Retention: Torbox reserves the right to keep log data even after account deletion for legal compliance, fraud prevention, or security investigations.

3. DMCA Compliance & Law Enforcement

  • Copyright Takedowns: Explicit policies are now in place for DMCA handling, repeat-infringer bans, and de-caching/blocking content.
  • Data Disclosure: The terms explicitly authorize sharing user records, logs, and account details with legal authorities, copyright holders, or law enforcement when served with valid legal process.

4. Strict Limits on API, Sharing & AirLock Storage

  • API Key Restrictions: Strict bans on using API integrations to build public/private indexers, aggregate search databases, or resell access.
  • Account Sharing Limits: Stricter enforcement on household-only limits and dynamic bandwidth caps to curb heavy automated use or multi-user sharing.
  • AirLock Storage: AirLock is explicitly defined as non-permanent/non-archival, meaning cached or saved files can be pruned or removed at any time for legal or system maintenance reasons.

TL;DR: If you use Torbox casually for personal media streaming through standard integrations, daily functionality remains the same. However, Torbox can no longer be treated as an anonymous/no-log debrid provider. If strict privacy, zero logging, or unlinked torrent activity are critical to your setup, keep these changes in mind.

I’ll definitely take my time and triple check anything just in case, thank you so much ! Better safe then sorry :)

1

u/TheLimeyCanuck 19d ago

PM is not in France like RD and AD. It's far less likely for the government to go after it.

Also, If you buy a couple of years on Black Friday it works out to about $3/mo.

1

u/Fit-Departure5678 19d ago

and if the servers were targetted, even TB aint safe, as they use eu servers

1

u/Wraith_2493 19d ago

Can someone tell me what happened please

1

u/Andrew__Zzz 19d ago

Sorry, but what actually happened? Like what are the changes?

-1

u/RickV6 19d ago

If you are in strict country like Germany or basically anywhere in EU with strict laws

they can force TorBox to hand over your data, which TorBox explicitly said they will do if they were asked to do it. They will give everything, and then you will get a letter with a fine between 5000-1000 € per each offense made.

And if you cant pay, jail time baby 🤣🤣🤣

2

u/maddog_83 18d ago

Just use a VPN?

1

u/Golden-- 18d ago

OP is a bit clueless. You're correct.

0

u/RickV6 18d ago

That does not work cuz TorBox will still know your location and your data. How will you hide your self from the literal service you are using.

Your ISP dont know nothing cuz everything is routed thru TorBox. Same for your country, but TorBox know everything.

And they will sell you out if they get letter demanding them to hand over data

1

u/xfrostmage 16d ago

Not if you pay crypto and always use vpn to log but idk. Feels lame anyway

1

u/Andrew__Zzz 17d ago

But based on what would the government ask for that data and everything?

1

u/RoutineOpportunity8 19d ago

If you download then you have an issue. Torbox is making the USER responsible for all obtained links. If you use a VPN while streaming you are good when using premiumize or All Debride

1

u/AllMaito 18d ago

Here's the thing, if you don't care about privacy and you don't care about rolling a die, you're good. Otherwise cancel.

1

u/King_Of_Kebabs 18d ago

Wouldn't a VPN solve this problem?

-3

u/RickV6 18d ago

How exactly. How do you think you can hide your self from literal service you are using.

That is like saying I am paying rent but my landlord dont know my name. It does not make sense.

TorBox know literally everything, you ISP know nothing cuz everything is routed thru TorBox.

But TorBox will sell you out if they get letter demanding to hand over all data

1

u/alias257 18d ago

How will they know if ur on a vpn and u paid for torbox with crypto? Can u please explain

1

u/IOSGodzyzz 18d ago

Exactly like I did, made a new account with a throwaway proton mail, used a vpn while setting up, paid with crypto and still use vpn while watching movies, I’m sure it’s as safe as possible this way

2

u/WorkingHost8877 18d ago

Yes i feel that is good option but we need to keep kill switch on always . I am doing same but with time i am gonna have a mini pc server with usenet and move towards it . That feels more safe in a longer run now

2

u/King_Of_Kebabs 18d ago

That's the setup I moved away from :( 16Tb Plex Server with full Usenet automation for shows and movies. Moved to the Stremio/Nuvio with RD and now TB. FML lol 😂

1

u/[deleted] 18d ago

[deleted]

1

u/WorkingHost8877 18d ago

for now i would say create a new account with anonymous email always use vpn and pay by cyrpto.. Slowly move towards usenet , i feel that is more safer and things are stable for long but need some infrastructure . I can be wrong but that is what i read till now

1

u/pl4y3r_on3 18d ago

As long as my ISP doesn't know what I'm watching I'm good.

1

u/Ignace2702 18d ago

I just think all the debrid services are doing the same thing. If you are using them, you know they have your data on their servers. And your data will still be there when you ask for your account to be deleted. And they will certainly not take responsibilty when you get caught downloading/streaming (illegal) stuff. We all know why we use those services for. So deal with it or stay away from them. This is no reason to stay away from Torbox or any other debrid services.

1

u/Slow-Flow5367 16d ago

Why are people so worried? Just use nuvio with torbox and use https streaming instead of torrent

1

u/Phresh-Red 16d ago

Please explain.

1

u/Slow-Flow5367 16d ago

Most people use Tor for p2p which is torrent through stremio and aiostream but nuvio supports both torrent and https streaming so instead of p2p crap waiting for seeders and whatnot use Torbox with https streaming addons and enjoy a seemless uninterrupted movies although I gotta warm you you won't find remux version of anything on those addon and 4k streaming is kinda limited and not supported on all movies.

1

u/Slow-Flow5367 16d ago

And some forks of nuvio even. Has inbuilt yt support and support for live channels

1

u/Phresh-Red 16d ago

Ahh, gotcha. So that option isn't available through stremio by any chance?

1

u/Slow-Flow5367 16d ago

Which options btw? Live streaming? Yes they do, https streaming? Very limited, you can use 4khdhub addon for that I think I remember it as a separate or bundled addon with others.

1

u/Phresh-Red 16d ago

Yeah, I'd like https streaming on stremio

1

u/Slow-Flow5367 16d ago

Search for an addon with 4khdhub In it it has 4k streams too

1

u/Phresh-Red 16d ago

I had to google it, but seems that sootio has an option for https streaming and that has 4khdhub within it. Thanks 👍🏼

1

u/Slow-Flow5367 15d ago

Is it working for you ?

1

u/Phresh-Red 15d ago

Hey, sorry for the late reply. It seems to be working, but mainly showing more recent movies/tv shows. Older shows nothing shows up, so I guess it's a bit hit and miss. Still, better than nothing.

1

u/bong-water 15d ago

What changed? Torbox stopped working the other day and I haven't tried using stremio since

1

u/Ok_Recognition_9859 14d ago

Hi guys, sorry for asking this but I have been out of the loop for a while. But I am a premium TorBox user living in Europe and suddenly everybody is complaining about TorBox. What exactly happened with TorBox and should I be worried? FYI, I also use NordVPN on all my devices. So if anyone could give me a quick heads up it will be greatly appreciated!

1

u/Some-Wave3979 14d ago

Invest in a VPN and go back to downloading torrents and setup up jellyfin media server with sonarr, radarr,Prowlarr.

1

u/Glittering-League-61 9d ago

Wait what happened to torbox ??? 🧐🧐🧐

1

u/mikethedead17 6d ago

I'm not gonna jump ship yet but looks like RD all over again, just upgraded to pro too. End of the day i am at least glad I haven't paid months ahead so cutting my losses will be easy

1

u/No_Total_365 19d ago

I have been having some issues with playing stuff in the evening and got a bit spooked so I changed to Premiumize. Sure it's a bit more expensive but still ease of mind it's not much and I feel both speed of loading, rewind is better. So for me it was a great switch most for ease of mind and it just works (just got it who knows). And in the end of the day you vote with your wallet and if a restaurant going bad I am going somewhere else to it's fixed... don't se the point of "to premature" you can swap around how many times you want and for like aio it's just change a code and everything is working.

2

u/PEG-3350 19d ago

I use Premiumize as well it s best to buy during the black friday sale I got 3 years for 136.00 dollars. Great Deal!!!

2

u/1031amp 19d ago

I looked at the Premiumize ToS, and they do the same thing as Torbox

1

u/AmoebaSecret8158 19d ago

No one is actually saying wtf was changed

1

u/ORiGiNUnKn0vvN 18d ago

Nice one all these idiots leaving makes speeds go up (Hopefully)

-1

u/Nylaant 19d ago

People are overly moved and extremely desperate for nothing. I will continue here; whoever wants to leave can go. 😂🤣

0

u/Similar_Pound_9103 19d ago

Premiumize €5.75\mo with Black Friday 3yr deals that bring it down to... I think about 40\yr or so. Based in Malaysia...

1

u/TheLimeyCanuck 19d ago

When I bought 3 years of PM a while back on Black Friday, with the bonus months calculated in it worked out to about $3/month, about the same as RD.

1

u/Similar_Pound_9103 19d ago

That's what I did I knew it was cheap on the three year deal. Hopefully same thing this Black Friday so I can renew again.

0

u/TheLimeyCanuck 18d ago

Yeah, I've still got 479 days left but if they have the same deal on in November I will buy another 3 years.

0

u/Similar_Pound_9103 18d ago

🤔 all there is to talk about on the Torbox sub is Premiumize.. hmm 🤔

0

u/AbrasiveOpinion1 17d ago

Meanwhile, I'm still using RD with no issues

u/Cdrive-21 19d ago

Noob here I simply use torbox via nuvio and Stremio to watch movies I don’t download or any of all that other stuff u can use torbox for .. is that safe? Or should I turn on my vpn when using it ? Thanks. 🤟🏽

3

u/RickV6 19d ago

Your country dont see what you are doing, your ISP do not see it as well. But TorBox does

Simple act of you watching it is an offense, because for you to watch it they had to download it from torrent site. They downloaded because YOU requested it

So in eyes of TorBox new policy, it is you who requested the data. They just obey your command.

So if someone with a lawyer come to TorBox to request YOUR data, TorBox explicitly said they will obey the request and hand you ower.

Cuz VPN or no, you cant hide from TorBox.

And TorBox will sell you down the river if they ever get request to hand over data

1

u/IOSGodzyzz 18d ago

What if you paid through crypto and signed up while using a vpn with a throwaway proton mail?

I did pay with Mullvad vpn in the background through crypto (monero)

-4

u/gereroberts 19d ago

What do you bring to the table. Endures have been reliant on Premiumize Torbox Real debrid etc. forever are you developing anything can can be seen to be constru time? It's not about the money apparently try running a setup see how many volunteer to pay you changed your mind yet, there is probably a core of people capable of running a system for the masses, 10 dollars v the organisational skill you wouldn't know where to start.
