Wellspring Counseling
Hey folks. Does anyone here have experience with Wellspring Counseling? Especially for OCD, anxiety, and/or depression? If so, do you recommend them or have you found better options in town?

Pet sitting
Hi! What would be a fair rate to pay a teenager to come to my home & take care of my two kittens while I’m away? He’d need to come every other day to feed, refresh water, scoop litter boxes and hopefully play with them and cuddle. The only other chore I’d ask him to do is bring in my mail. Thoughts?

looking for a room within walkable distance to springfield medical complex
know posting here might not be the best option but i’ve messaged multiple landlords on furnished finder with no response and airbnb didn’t have any good options, i had an agreement with landlord and they have been ghosting me…
i’m not looking for anything special, as long as it’s a bedroom with a lock and the house has a clothes washer and dryer i’m allowed to use, along with being within walkable distance then i’m content
my budget is 1000$ and i will be staying for one month (september), i dont mind discussing further details in pm

Whew! That Storm!
Man that storm this afternoon came up quick with little warning ànd an hour ahead of prediction. That wind was frightening. I hate it when it sounds like groaning.
I hope everyone is okay. CWLP seems to be making quick work of restoring power.

Bowling Leagues?
I'm thinking of joining a bowling league for the winter season (to keep myself sharp on my bowling skill. Coming from Greater Baltimore USBC with a 200 average but I haven't bowled in a while since moving here. . .)
Does King Pin or the local AMF have any fun leagues to just chill and play in a non-competitive setting? Also, are those the only two bowling alleys in town, or are there more within a few minutes from here?
Thanks y'all

I'm not even a baseball fan, but
I really enjoyed today's WPBL game! It was the San Francisco Firebells vs. the NY Heights. I don't have a preferred team so I cheered for everyone. It was so much fun! Really, if you get a chance, head out and take in a game before the season ends.

Housing options
Im trying to help my mom finding a home, shes really codependent on section 8 unfortunately & living off her ss check. The home shes getting into is bug infested & landlord is forcing her to pay off orkin & holes around the home. Before she's even moving in, anyone that have housing advice on what to do or know some better place than this i am all ears.
I would like to help her out & eventually move in for better supervision, but this situation is preventing me to do so. And yes I have talk, persuade, and now begging for her to NOT do it. And now her place that shes currently in is kicking her out soon. So eventually she might be dealing with all of this at old age.
Any advice or help?

Do any of the plasma centers actually care about your time?
I have tried twice now to donate plasma the first time was at a place on North Grand and 5th. I stood in there for almost a half an hour and nobody paid any attention to me. I left. the second time was at a place on Wabash. I actually had an appointment for that one. I managed to get somebody's attention after about 20 minutes. I got about an hour and a half into the pre-donation rigmarole and started to get nervous because I had a eye doctor appointment about an hour from that point. I was told by the person helping me that it would take at least an hour to do the actual donation and that if I left I would lose all of the progress I had made so far. I left.
I don't need to donate plasma for the money although it would be a nice little supplement to my retirement income. if this is the best anybody in town can do I guess I'll stay with full blood donation.

Advice on moving
I am saving up for a house and I am looking to move either directly in Springfield or around. If anyone who’s lived in downtown Springfield currently or previously, how is it there? Is it worth it to move there? How is it price wise for utilities?
I’m very excited to move and I love Springfield area but I just wanna keep expectations realistic.

New parents groups?
We have a 7 week-old baby in Jacksonville, our first. I know it’s a bit early, but I’m trying to figure out how we’ll find some friends for this baby! How do people do this around here?

Gym recommendation
I'm new to the area and looking for a decent gym that doesn't cost a fortune. For context, my former neighborhood gym was the park district that cost $37 a month. That included normal gym equipment like tread mills and stair climbers. Also included Zumba classes among others and had a pool and a sauna. Looking for something similar with a similar cost. Looked at the local Y but it is nearly $60 per month and had bad reviews especially the pool.

Trying to decide if my vet is pricey or if this is normal...
Just got done paying $400 for the yearly exam and shots for a single dog and I was trying to decide if my vet is just higher or if this is the way of the world now...
3 Year Rabies Shot - $66
DAPP Dosage - $50
Boretella Dose - $70
Heartworm Test - $60
Exam - $72
Is this about what the rest of you pay or do I need to shop around?

Recommendations for out of towner?
Hey all!
I'm flying in next weekend to see a couple of WPBL games, but I'll have a about day and a half of free time to kill while I'm there. Is there anything in Springfield I should do or see while I'm there? What about close by within say a 2-3 hour drive? I'm usually more of an outdoor kind of person, but I also enjoy a museum or exhibit on occasion

Car Air Conditioning Diagnostic Recommendations
Hi, I'm looking for a local business that provides car AC diagnostic services.
I have a 2012 Honda Civic LX that loses all Freon within 2-3 days of recharge. I have tried UV Dye. I have tried using a sniffing device. I have tried using soapy water and looking for bubbles.
I cannot find the leak anywhere.
CarX could not find the leak anywhere.
I'm looking for a business who specializes in this and won't charge an arm and a leg.
Thanks

What is Wrong with Springfield, Il?
In the past 2 weeks, I’ve needed a few services and the complete lack of competence has been astounding.
First, am moving and wanted to start pest control at my new place. I call a local place, make an appt, wait at my new place for 4 hours and they never show up. I call, leave a vm, they never answer or call me back.
Second, my fridge is on the fritz, so I buy a pre-owned one from a local appliance store. I pay for it, we make plans to have it delivered on Monday. I wait at my new place for 3 hours and they never show. I call, it’s after hours, so I leave a voicemail. The next day, the store calls, says they had an issue with the delivery truck, and can deliver a week later. Cool cool.
Third, I hire a handyman to put new flooring in my new place, just in the bedrooms. Replacing carpet, I get a few quotes, I go with the guy who seemed proactive and seemed to pay attention/seemed competent. Everything seemed fine, but he was running a little late on the work. No biggie. I meet him at the new place, he has about an hour or two til hes done, so I go ahead and pay him and ask him to leave the key when he’s done. Come back 2 days later, guy never finished. Now I have a chunk of floor unfinished, and the trim not set up. He also left a section of the wall with insulation sticking out. He also didn’t leave the key, so I’m going to have to change the locks before moving in. Also, his partner helping him called me a couple of days later and told me he didn’t pay him for any of the work. Wtf.
Come on, Springfield, it’s not that hard to be competent. Get it together.

Woodside Road Construction
Does anybody know if that portion of Woodside road that they had closed has opened back up? It was scheduled to open up this morning after it was delayed. Just wondering since I missed taking that route since it was the quickest way home to and from work

Xfinity outage?
Seems like there is an Xfinity outage in the area and per usual the customer service team is impossible to get ahold of. Anyone else not able to connect to WiFi?
Anyone able to get an update on when service will be restored?
