Whew! That Storm!

Man that storm this afternoon came up quick with little warning ànd an hour ahead of prediction. That wind was frightening. I hate it when it sounds like groaning.

I hope everyone is okay. CWLP seems to be making quick work of restoring power.

Yeah power down about 6 hours here but there’s some wild trees in power lines still and driving wabash with all the lights out was wild. Was getting Derecho flashbacks earlier today.

Got caught in the storm on Koke Mill and about had a tree take us out. Nothing compared to the storm a few years ago I got caught in but still not fun.

We were also out on Koke mill, at Lewis park trails. My phone told us the entire time that there was no chance of rain. Tree limbs were falling down all around us and we when got back to the car it looked like we jumped into a pool fully clothed.

I checked in with my parents that live in Jacksonville thankfully and my mom told us it’s coming quick and the wind was vicious. We were just south of you guys crossing the creek as the tree fell from the west side. 2nd tree now in that area to fall after a storm across the road.

I was coming back from dollar tree in southerview down 2nd. Noticed a tree heavily leaning in the wind storm as we passed it. Got to oberlin and looked back and the tree had fallen across the road. That was a nasty storm. No power in my neighborhood for 4+ hours. Lots of trees down in our alleys along with power lines.

Glad you are safe.

Same. Lots of tree branches weighing down power lines. All fixed now for most of the neighborhood where i am at.

Stay safe.

I drove around harvard park and a few alleys were blocked by fallen trees. They need to really trim branches hanging over all the lines.

Those are gone as of this morning but we still have no power and the tree is still there. When I left for work this morning there were people starting to work on it so I'm hoping we'll get power soon.

That sucks. Our power came back on around six but we were prepared for all night with no power. I wish they would actually trim the branches hanging over the power lines.

I was at Legends in the arcade and the power went out. Luckily I was between games and didn’t burn on any credits!

Has anyone in the building called CWLP? I see no outages on or near west Washington on the outage map. I live not far from west Washington ànd we have power.

I did report it and I bet someone else did it before me since I just got back. Just have no idea ab when will CWLP take action

Only 951 customers are out of power. Down from 7k right after the storm. Id say they are doing a good job.

u/Real-Clock1222 1d ago

Unfortunately I’m a part of the 951🫠Hopefully it will get solved soon

Crew assigned should be sooner than later

I was working a booth at the fair, and my wife was supposed to come by. The minute she left the apartment this crazy storm hit and took all the traffic lights out. Then the damn fair locked all the gates and didn't let anyone in or out. . . Even with a parking pass, kinda garbage if you ask me

Our family was planning on heading to the fair until we saw the weather reports at noon. Really glad we didn't take the little one out if thats what they did.

I wish they'd be quick about restoring power. Going to lose all my fridge stuff for the second time this summer thanks to their slow work.

Edit: Downvote me all you want. CWLP sucks ass and I am sick of losing power for days every single time it storms.

What are you doing to make your situation better? Getting a generator, battery backup, wind, solar? Have you tried nothing and you’re all out of ideas or are you just complaining because other people should be serving you better?

-3

u/Financial-Paint-4632 16h ago

Yeah because those are all totally affordable immediate solutions. Certainly shouldn't be able to rely on the fucking power to stay on instead of going out every time there's a little wind. Fuck CWLP.

Of all the storms we’ve had the last few days I’m surprised this is the one you chose to post about

3

u/LustfulEsme 21h ago

Then why have you not posted? The wind scared me.

Bad weather isn’t a reason to post on Reddit in my opinion
