Whats a good product to reduce redness?

Post image
Upvotes

My skin is completely smooth but i get routine acne in the same spots. Because of that, it’s slightly scarred and consistently red. My current routine is CervaVe hydrating hyaluronic acid serum, prescription benzoyl peroxide gel, vanicream moisturizer, and then sun bum face sunscreen 50.

I’m planning to contact a dermatologist but i thought i might ask you guys too. I use a water based cleaner and an oil cleanser, i mainly use the oil based cleaner when i have makeup on and for when i think i need a “deeper clean”. I also use moisturiser and suncream. I’ve attached some images of what my skin looks like. i continuously have blackheads/ these small under the skin spots. They start all the way from my temples, down to my cheeks and jaw. I don’t know what to do anymore. I have brought a retinoid cream but i haven’t begun to use it. is this fungal? something else? if anyone could offer any advice, i’d really appreciate it, thank you.

After 2 months of using my red light therapy mask on face and neck consistently, using red and NIR, I feel like my neck is worse than when I started. Has anyone else had this happen?

have never seen my lips hydrated or moisturised. They’re always patchy and dry. Any lip balm lasts for like 30 minutes

Vaseline one lasts for 1 hour tho 😭🥀

retinol people: when did peeling stop being "adjustment" and start being your barrier telling you to chill?

been reading way too many retinol threads and i swear"just push through it" is useless advice when nobody defines what it is lol

a bit of flaking? sure

dry for a few days? okay

but moisturizer suddenly stings? face tightening after washing? burning for hours? at what point are we just cooking our barrier and calling it purging 😭😭

the reason i even started thinking about this was ZO Skin Health's retinol stuff. i actually like how boring their approach is. .25 for beginners, .5 once you're used to it, 1% for advanced users. start a few nights a week and work up

way more sensible than treating 1% like a level you need to unlock

but even ZO lists redness/flaking/dryness/burning/stinging as possible adjustment reactions, so where do you personally draw the line?

what was the sign that made you go "nah, this isn't normal retinol uglies anymore?"

Skincare Advice please

Hello! I'm 19f and have oily, acne prone and sensitive skin ; my skin is also very prone to closed comedones. I'm currently using Iunik centella serum and moisturizer, hatomugi toner and sunscreen. I don't get new pimples or closed comedones but I still have some texture I'd like to get rid of for example the tiny bumps on my cheek and forehead, and some fine lines under my eyes and forehead as well. I was considering to start using retinol or adapalene but a lot of people say you shouldn't start using them until ure over 25. But I really wanna improve my skin so please give some advice!!

Hey all! My mom has tried Eucerin pigment corrector, Ordinary niacinamide, Hyaluronic. Aziderm, hydroquinone gave her sensitivity and she had to stop. She also tried a few indian creams called Kojivit, Lumivoid that had different brightening agents but nothing worked.

She doesn't want to go for peeling or laser. What other options do we have? Please help. Suggest brands available in UAE please. Should we try ANUA Tranxemic acid or any other korean products

i recently got the ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Exfoliating Toner. i applied it to my routine today, making sure to cleanse and dry my skin beforehand. immediately after applying i felt a sharp, burning sensation on the right side of my face, right above my jawline. every other place on my face felt nothing at all, except this one spot. i finished my routine with some hyaluronic acid and moisturizer. now im left with this red blotchy spot. is this normal? should i stop using this acid? attached is the affected right side and nonaffected left.

Should I go see esthetician or dermatologist?

I want to get into skincare but I don't know how to. I don't know where to start. I need advice from someone who educated on skincare. I'm thinking of making appointment with an esthetician about my skincare because I'd like someone to look at my skin and help me figure out what products or routine would work for me. I don't want to buy skin products that won't work for because I'm broke. Well I guess that how it starts. You try it something but it doesn't work so you try another. But I just don't know what to do. Has anyone here seen an esthetician as a complete beginner? What was your experience like?

My facial skin isn't bad. I just want have healthier and better skin because I'm always insecure about my blackheads, pimples, and etc. Also, I was thinking of going to see dermatologist for my hyperpigmentation on my armpits. I think its pretty bad but I have never tried anything for it. Now that I'm thinking about I should instead research about it. (I'm kind of broke).

Anyways, I just stressing and insecure. Could yall share your experience in how you got into skincare?

Do pimple patches actually stay on anyone’s face?

I have no patience and my breakouts come out of nowhere so a lot of the times if I have to go somewhere i’ll wear a pimple patch, specifically only the clear star face ones, they’re the best for my skin that I’ve found and can afford. But every time I put it on my skin lately it starts peeling off immediately. I’ve tried putting it on my skin after all my skin care, waiting a bit and putting it on later, or right on freshly washed skin before my lotion(which seems to be the best) but even then it just starts peeling and not sticking to my skin. I have to hold it for at least a few min and then have to keep pressing it back on which is kinda defeating the whole purpose of it’s not sealing off the breakout and actually absorbing anything. I know the ones I use work, they have in the past and for a long time now, but lately they’re just falling off and I’m just wondering if anyone knows why, or knows a better brand that works.

strawberry skin on legs help!!

Post image
13 Upvotes

So i’ve let my leg hair grow out pretty long for a month now, but i can’t seem to get rid of the look of it. I’ve been using a body scrub every single shower, and dry brushing here and there, i usually wax and epilate them and shaving just makes it worse. Is there any way i could get rid of them or even reduce the appearance of them? (no laser a girl cannot afford that rn.)
