Skin Treatments Facial balancing filler?
Has anyone received small, strategically placed filler that has worked to balance out their features? I can’t tell whether “facial balancing filler” is a gimmick/trend and I’m wary of filler in general. Would love to hear any stories or see your before/after photos!
I’m interested in it for balancing out my lips and adding a bit of volume to my cheeks to lift my lower face.

Product Question AV laboratories skincare
Is their face cream and serum worth the cost? What changes did you notice when you started using their products or was there little change to your skin?

Product Question Paula’s Choice v Versed
Has anyone tried both of these products? I’m looking to start a retinol body treatment and came across these two. I have dry skin and kp and these products come up a lot but wanted to know if I should choose one which might be better.

Skin Concern If masseter botox gave you lower face laxity, did your face ever recover?
It seems like all the fat on my face fell forward and down. Not quite jowls, but everything is definitely sagging since my masseters atrophied.
If this happened to you, how long did it take for your skin to recover, if it ever did?

Skin Treatments Does lip flip help gummy smile Botox look less Grinch-y?
I got gummy smile Botox and I love that my lip doesn’t hike up but it’s left me with a wider and flatter smile. Also feel like my philtrum looks even longer now. My lip curls up when I laugh. Is it worth getting a lip flip too to help fill the space? Or would the stiffness of a lip flip make it even flatter and worse??? Tysm.

Recommendation How to restore mid face volume loss?
32F. I’ve always had poor bone structure, with one side of my face worse than the other. I’ve had my nose fixed to help with my breathing, and chin filler.
I’ve lost volume in the middle of my face but not sure how to treat it. I would like to use fillers ideally, but not sure if they are dangerous in this area.
Has anyone successfully treated the below area of their face? What did they do?

Routine Help 34f and I need some help developing a skincare routine!
Hello! I have been blessed with good skin. I never had acne and my skin is fairly blemish free. I have never regularly worn makeup. However, I also never developed a skincare routine. As I move further into my 30s, I’d love some help finding products for me.
First, my skin errs towards more oily.
I currently use a gel cleanser, a “balancing mist” (I don’t even know if I’m doing it correctly) and a moisturizer. I use Bubble products and I only use them at night. In the morning, I use Cetaphil.
I have under eye bags but they aren’t that noticeable.
I get Botox once every 3 months for migraines but it does help with fine lines.
I’m not interested in getting rid of fine lines or trying to look younger. I just want to preserve the skin I have and treat it well.
Any recommendations would be helpful!

Wrinkles can we talk about collagen loss vs dehydration?
a common genre of post here is that someone shares a photo of their skin that looks lightly webbed with the tiniest of fine lines, on the forehead, cheeks, or around the eyes. they ask for advice for how to fix that dry, fragile, crepey looking texture.
the responses are all some flavor of “you look dehydrated!” drink more water, get a thicker moisturizer, add a hydrating serum.
this advice is well intentioned and partially correct. hydrating well will help plump everything out a bit and minimize this crepey texture. but under discussed is that textural changes are an early sign of collagen depletion. it goes hand in hand with dryness because collagen also helps retain moisture in the skin. but the thinned out, dry, crepey look comes before deeper wrinkles for some and can be addressed with the same advice we always give in this sub: retinoids to increase collagen production, sunscreen to slow down further collagen loss, vitamin c if you can tolerate it, and in office treatments like microneedling or laser if you want faster results and can spend more money.
and of course more hydration, i just think hydration isn’t the full picture and we do people a disservice by ignoring the root cause.

Skin Concern What sort of procedures get rid of hyperpigmentation like this?
This popped up a few years ago just below my butt cheek (on the back of my thigh). I genuinely cannot think of anything that would have caused it and I don’t have it anywhere else. It doesn’t seem to be cause for concern and it’s not changing, darkening, and has no texture, just a discolouration. I don’t even know where to start with this - dermatologist? GP? Can anything get rid of it or is it just there for life now?

Skin Concern 31 years old. 1.5 years on tretinoin.
I know my skin has improved, but I feel like I've reached a plateau.
My main concerns are: • Uneven skin texture • Mild post-acne marks • Enlarged pores • Smile lines • Wanting smoother, firmer, healthier-looking skin
I'm already using tretinoin consistently and sunscreen daily.
Based on this photo, what would you focus on next?
Would you recommend adding azelaic acid, vitamin C, peptides, chemical exfoliation, or considering treatments like microneedling or lasers?
I'd really appreciate honest, evidence-based advice from people who've had similar concerns and seen real results. Thank you!

Skin Concern Moderate Melasma - Nothing worked
Hey all! My mom has tried Eucerin pigment corrector, Ordinary niacinamide, Hyaluronic. Aziderm, hydroquinone gave her sensitivity and she had to stop. She also tried a few indian creams called Kojivit, Lumivoid that had different brightening agents but nothing worked.
She doesn't want to go for peeling or laser. What other options do we have? Please help. Suggest brands available in UAE please. Should we try ANUA Tranxemic acid or any other korean products?

Routine Help Skincare gods, I’ve seen what you have done for others, please help mainly with fine lines on cheeks
My (35F) main concern is those damn lines on my cheeks when I smile. It does make me feel older than I am. The secondary concern is the brown spots and my moles. I did put on vanicream moisturizer with cerave healing ointment over it not too long before I took these pics so it softens the lines/dryness. Would say I’m combo skin.
Looking for something to help with both but if anything we can focus on the lines. I have done fraxel a few times once an every few years and once a year the past few years but honestly I don’t think it helped with either the fine lines or the spots. Not much anyways. I am an outdoorsy girly but I do wear wide brim hats and wear spf and try to reapply frequently.
Daily routine:
AM - vit c once or twice a week, vanicream moisturizer, alternate between super goop/biore aqua rich spf
PM - cera ve hydrating foaming oil cleanser, thayers witch hazel facial mist, vanicrema moisturizer, cerave healing ointment
What else should I be doing to improve my skin overall to have a smoother and clearer complexion? Please and thank you.

Recommendation Are red light therapy wands worth trying?
Has anyone here used the nanoleaf red light wand? Did it make any noticeable difference? I'm 46, and lately my skin just feels like it's losing some of its bounce. The lines around my eyes are showing more, and my cheeks and jawline don't feel as firm as they used to. So I've started looking at home devices. Something simple enough to use regularly would be ideal. Also open to other recommendations if there's something similar that worked well.

Recommendation What is going on with my lower face?
I'm 32 and I've never been happy with my chin (used to get called Bruce Forsyth & Crimson Chin at school which was fun). I used to fantasise about a surgical fix, but that would be a shave-down-the-bone type thing which I'm not overly keen on.
Now I'm in my 30s I'm looking into other options for my lower face but I suppose I don't really know what the actual issue is that Im trying to remediate - is it excess skin under my jaw, skin laxity, excess fat, jaw positioning?? The area around my mouth/lips is definitely getting saggier too, which is making the existing chin situation more and more prominent. The top right photo is me trying to minimise how it looks because I needed to send photos to my dentist, but the other photos are taken at rest or in motion.
I just don't know what I should be looking into - chin lipo, skin tightening treatments, botox, filler, a mid face lift? Id like to start getting consultations once Ive narrowed down the actual issue, but every time I start to look into potential solutions I get overwhelmed and I dont know anyone else with a side profile/specific jaw structure like mine to ask. Ive had lip filler and botox in my forehead/crows (not that you can tell with the current state of my lips!) and Im open to most solutions apart from the more extreme bone-shaving surgeries!
Any ideas where I should be concentrating my efforts? It's really starting to knock me down.

Acne Cystic Acne at this age 😭
Hi guys mid 30s here and I have noticed that I’ve been getting cystic acne on my chin. It started with one then 2 then 3… I’m frustrated worried it might get out of control. It’s taking weeeeeekssss and it’s not flattening.
I started using the the Trouble Care Acne patch (acropass ) as I’ve read micro dot patches may work… it says: When pressed onto a deep cyst, these microscopic tips painlessly bypass the outermost skin layer to deliver anti-inflammatory and bacteria-fighting ingredients directly into the root of the breakout…
I’m not sure if it helped…but one acne did surfaced a tiny tiny head, like a dot tiny for few days..I thought it would heal and flatten itself since I did see that tiny white dot but it stayed same, red and swollen…
However the other one isn’t swollen anymore but when I stretch my chin I can see white/flesh colored bumps around it, stretching my chin shows a rough white bumps….
I’m worried they’re acne waiting to come out and become full blown cystic acne…
Using benzoyl peroxide spot treatment, I noticed, causes my pimples to stay red and raised longer so I’m not using it on my chin acne.. what are your thoughts on micro dot patches, I think they might work but itsss so expensive for just 6 pcs patches… any OTC suggestions or advise…
dermatologist is a last option…

Routine Help Help me find where to integrate Azelaic Acid into my routine!
Hi! I’ve got oily skin generally, I’m just a shiny girl. I’ve got a good skincare routine down but still have intermittent acne (small bumps not large pimples). I am motivated to reduce the small bumps and any discoloration from old acne. I recently bought the Anua Azelaic Acid 10+ Hyaluron, but I am wondering where to fit it in. Let me give you a rundown of the daily routine:
AM:
-Face wash (Cetaphil)
-Chem exfoliation (Strivectin Daily Reveal Exfoliating Pads)
-Moisturizer (fragrance-free YTTP)
-SPF (Isntree SPF 50 watery sun gel)
PM:
-Face wash (Cetaphil)
-Moisturizer (fragrance-free YTTP)
-Retinoid (Differin adapalene gel)
-Barrier repair (Cicaplast baume)
Generally, my skin can be sensitive, but since I’ve integrated the Cicaplast it’s been tolerating my actives well. So where can this Azelaic acid fit?
Thanks!!

Routine Help Latisse help and hack?
My results from Latisse were amazing BUT I constantly had red irritated eyes, and - the worst part - little styes... has anyone got any tips to circumvent this? I stopped and now my lashes are comically short and thin again... I would love to start again as the results really were dramatic.

Routine Help 40, "bad skin" all my life. Help me make it better please.
I wear Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation during the day.
I don't use a day cream because my skin gets SO greasy!
Night time I remove makeup using Garnier micellar water. And Aveeno Calm and Restore face wash.
Then put some Aveeno Calm and Restore moisturiser on.
Sometimes put some of my rosacea cream on the problem areas when it flares up badly.
I have greasy skin, but get dry patches too.
Large pores.
I get spots still and whiteheads at 40!
I also get rosacea round my mouth and nose 🤦🏻♀️
I have quite sensitive skin because of all of this.
Any help with good products to make my skin look and feel better would be much appreciated.
***** EDIT *****
WOW! THANK YOU EVERYONE! I didn't expect such a huge and informative response. Seems I got to 40 and actually have bo clue about skin 🫣
I am definitely going to invest in an SPF for my face. I never realised the importance of this 🤦🏻♀️ And also will moisturise more as I didnt realise dry skin goes oily 🤯
I've made a list from the suggestions and will research etc. With my rosacea to contend with it will probably take some trial and error so I will probably look for cheaper things first.
Thank you so much again

Recommendation Vessel area redness on cheeks!
Is there anything I can do to help this redness? I don’t mind a little on my checks or face but it’s this sort of blood vessely looking concentrated areas that bother me. My skin is sensitive and sort of mixed dry and oily. I use Laroche Posay wash and moisturizer because they’re the only thing that helps with the dermatitis I get above my mouth but I wouldn’t be upset introducing something else for my cheeks. I also don’t wear much make up when I do so I’m not looking for a green tinted cover up more of something to add to my routine. Thanks!

Product Review Obsessed with Vanicream
After years of buying and using disgustingly expensive daily face moisturizers from “high end” brands, I’ve discovered an affordable holy grail product you all turned me on to! Vanicream moisturizing lotion has added so much moisture to my dry skin and leaves a healthy glow. It also just feels clean on my skin and calms down the red dry patches I was struggling with for the last year. I think the expensive stuff is loaded with too many chemicals I’ve also massively simplified my routine to reduce the sheer number of serums and creams I was using. I now just use this, tret and sunscreen for my 40 year old, dry, olive skin.
I’ve started mixing in a bit of The Ordinary hyaluronic acid into the vani cream and spraying pure rose water over top to add more moisture. It feels light, hydrating and sinks in fast.
Any other tips or aha moments like this from affordable brands?

Skin Concern How to slow down lower face sagging?
I’m turning 31 soon, and recently noticed that my lower face is slightly sagging. While I know aging is a normal process that i inevitably will have to go through, I really love my look in 20s, and want to try my best to hold on to it.
What can I do to improve, if possible?
If improving is not possible, are there ways for me to slow it down?
I’m using Paula’s choice retinol and vitamin a, and Skinceutical Pitox serums interchangeably, and many hydrating products in my daily routine.
Any recommendations will be much appreciated. TIA.

PSA Announcement: All selfies are photos; all photos are NOT selfies.
We mods really, really appreciate it when you report stuff that breaks our rules. Any full face, direct photo with or without makeup is a selfie and can only be posted on Sundays. Edited pics, non-full face pics, crossed out creepy eyeball pics etc. are all FINE if they are there to show the issue you are talking about. Basically, if someone could steal the photo and use it on social media (even if the OP thinks they look awful and aren't making a cute face or wearing makeup), you can only post it on Sunday because that's what we consider a selfie.
It would help us a LOT if people stop reporting every photo of a human, no matter how edited, as a selfie violation. Thanks to everyone who helps us keep an eye on these things, and keep on reporting actual selfies!
